View Full Details of Mowbray Nursing HomeAll the staff were wonderful, cheerful, willing and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble.
The staff were compassionate caring and professional throughout making an emotional and sensitive end to my mother's stay as comfortable and comforting as anyone could have expected. My mum passed with dignity and without undue suffering for which I - and I feel sure - she, was grateful.
My mum has resided at Mowbray for almost a year now. The staff have always shown respect and kindness and are helpful and caring. The managers and nursing staff are extremely supportive of both of us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursing home.
My father was at Mowbray for almost a year and no one could have wished for a better end to his life. Everyone treated him with unfailing kindness, compassion and good humour and he effectively found himself part of a new and welcoming family. The staff were always available to keep us up to date with his condition: this was always done with great professionalism and warmth; nothing was ever too much trouble. My thanks go to every single one of the team for everything they did for my father. We were fortunate to find Mowbray and he was fortunate to spend his last year there.
We would like to thank everyone at Mowbray for the excellent care my father received during his last year. We could not have wished for a better, more caring environment than Mowbray. The staff made the effort to really get to know my father and would often call into his room just for a chat or to check on him. We know he really appreciated these visits as he would always talk about them and pass on all the latest news to us. During his final days, he was given the comfort and reassurance he needed and he died peacefully with a nurse at his side. We could not have asked for more. Thank you all.
My mother was in the care of Mowbray staff for 9 days, having been transferred into nursing care from the local hospital for her final days. The welcome she received and the courtesy shown to her and her family were terrific. The nursing care, wellbeing of staff, support shown were second to none. What a wonderful home you have in the area.
There is only one word to describe Mowbray: superb!
Providing a review of my mother's stay at Mowbray Court is a pleasure. I always come away after visiting feeling all was well and even though she was bedridden she was getting the best of care in a very homely environment. The staff were exceptionally kind and cheerful and the leaders in charge were most supportive in realising the needs of individual patients and in keeping everything running smoothly. It was greatly reassuring that everything was immaculately clean and my mother was attended to promptly at all times. The home is located on a very quiet, safe and attractive road and fronted by a spectacular garden. Last but not least the food is cooked on-site and my mother found it most enjoyable. Mowbray is a very special place if you have a loved one in need of care.
My mother was at Mowbray for just over 2 years. She enjoyed her time there which was because all the staff were so friendly. They worked hard to satisfy Mum's regular calls for help even though she would often forget why she called for them. The room was kept very clean and tidy which enjoyed a nice view over the garden. I applaud the staff's professionalism.
My mother was a resident at Mowbray Nursing Home from October 2022 until her passing in September 2023. She was originally in the Residential Care Unit and then as her health deteriorated moved into Nursing Care. Throughout her stay, I was extremely happy with the way she was cared for by staff. Most of the staff have been at Mowbray for many years, i.e. ten to fifteen years or more. Very little reliance is put on agency support. All the staff are very friendly, from cleaners to catering and laundry. Medical care is excellent with a strong interaction with the local GP surgery. They are very good at keeping relatives informed of developments and any changes to medication and/or care needs. The care and support my mother received in her last days were exceptional as was the contact and support I also received at that time.
The care and attention you have shown to my wife has been truly remarkable. Your dedication goes beyond merely fulfilling your responsibilities; it is evident that you genuinely care for the well-being and happiness of each resident. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, your commitment to enhancing their quality of life is truly commendable. I have been consistently impressed by the kindness and patience exhibited by every member of your team. Whether it's the nursing staff, caregivers, kitchen and housekeeping staff, or administrative personnel, everyone works together seamlessly to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. During challenging times, such as the pandemic, your commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and hygiene has been exemplary. Your vigilance and adherence to protocols have given us peace of mind, knowing that the health and safety of residents are your top priority.
My wife was grateful to all the staff at Mowbray. From the cleaners, service staff, care staff and nurses, they all had a chat with my wife to lighten her day and help her through the dreadful pain she had to endure.
Good staff, very helpful and will go again.
Mum was treated with the utmost dignity and respect in the last few months of her life. The care and attention to detail was excellent. The staff were always smiling and very polite at all times. Cannot thank Mowbray Nursing Home enough for what was a very difficult time they supported us as a family which was lovely!
Staff are very friendly and helpful. A little concerned that when resident presses the alarm call often it's 5-10 minutes before staff arrive to attend to resident - rather too long to wait in an emergency eg; after a fall or if needing the bathroom. Glad to see that the garden is being tidied up and the trees cut back. Rooms need to be tidied up next - lick of paint, new curtains in room.
A truly excellent care and nursing home! Father lived at Mowbray for 2 years until his death at the age of 97. All the staff were kind and caring, but more than that they were all something even rarer, extremely competent. They focused on their residents and did whatever was needed exactly when it was needed, skilfully and reliably. A somewhat quirky conversion of a fine old house; don’t let that put you off, my father really appreciated the care he was given, and we could not have wished for better.
My mum has been a resident at Mowbray for 14 months. She went into care with reluctance and obviously great apprehension. From day 1 all members of the staff have given her every support to settle her into her new home, and that is exactly how it feels. The overriding feeling when I visit mum is of warmth friendliness and care. Not only do they support mum, but also they are very supportive of the whole family. At this extremely worrying and difficult time, that care is appreciated more than ever.
I visited quite a few homes before entering my mother into Mowbray. It was by far the best. She settled in quickly among the friendly carers overseen by an empathetic manager and staff. There are no nasty smells, the food is excellent and plentiful, a social life is encouraged and music etc planned. Her room is beautiful and light and airy with sliding doors onto the garden and the car parks, giving my mother something to watch. The resident nurse is very understanding of old age and the problems it brings and no one is ever too busy to spare time for relatives and residents. Everywhere is clean and uncluttered and when you enter you get a feel of a happy community spirit. The manager quietly and efficiently oversees all and throughout it all retains a sense of humour and optimism. I am confident that my mother is in safe, kind hands at Mowbray.
Since moving to Mowbray in Feb 2014, our mother has been very well cared for and her nursing needs met at a very high standard. Her room is clean and tidy and well maintained. Staff are always friendly and approachable. We are informed of any important information in good time. Food is good and served promptly with a smile. All her needs are met to a high standard. Then staff at Mowbray ensure a pleasant, homely and professionally run establishment at all times. Would live here myself.
