View Full Details of Norton Hall Nursing HomeGood clean environment. Management and staff work very hard in keeping residents safe and active. Good atmosphere when visiting.
Mum has been treated with utmost care and respect. The staff are friendly and approachable. Mum has had a new lease of life since going into the home. She enjoys and joins in all the activities and entertainment that she would previously not have done.
Lovely, clean and bright room. The staff are always smiling and accommodating, taking my dad outside in a chair even when busy with everything else. My dad says the food is excellent. Activities are stimulating, can't believe my dad actually joins in. He looks like a different person in just a couple of months that he has been here - he smiles!
My mum has been at Norton Hall for a year now and the whole family are so happy with the excellent care she receives from all the staff and the excellent support we receive from everyone. The staff are always friendly and welcoming when we visit and Mum is obviously well cared for. We can always chat with the carers, nurses and the manager about Mum. I live about an hour away so a lot of my correspondence with the manager, is by email. I always get a prompt and detailed response to any queries and requests I make and this is so comforting and reassuring. There are always activities going on and it's lovely to see the photos on social media especially when we can spot Mum taking part. All the staff are so lovely and friendly and I can't thank them enough for all that they do for Mum and everything they do to support us as a family.
Friendly, open and welcoming. Considerable effort is given to social activities to maintain morale among all and support for residents. Comprehensive care and nursing records are maintained and next of kin are kept informed.
The staff are always very friendly and accommodating which is where I believe care starts.
Mum arrived at Norton Hall after a very distressing and frightening experience. She was welcomed (as were we) with warmth and understanding. This had been a very worrying time for us as a family. The manager and senior staff always have time to speak to us about Mum and her day. It's nice that we can visit anytime. Mum always looks clean and cared for and enjoys wearing her favourite perfume (thank you to all care staff for this). Heartfelt thanks to everyone at this lovely home!
Some of the staff are brilliant, others not so good, and when I put a complaint in about a member of staff I had no follow up from anybody. Food is also satisfactory at times. The entertainer lady is brilliant and the nursing home has a lovely garden. The other point is that some of the staff park in the smaller car park near the home and not further down on the staff car park where they have to walk a little way.
In general the care for my mother is extremely good. Sometimes the food has been a little questionable recently, but I understand the cook has now returned so hopefully meals will return to the standard they were. My mum participates in the the activity programme which is generally good and she enjoys keep fit, particularly along with the occasional trips out which are always a winner! I am really pleased that there doesn't seem to be a big turnover of staff and relationships can be built with residents, which is so important for people living with dementia.
I visited Norton Hall a few days ago to see my sister-in-law, who had recently returned to the nursing home after a spell in hospital. I had arranged to speak to the manager, so I could be filled in on my sister-in-law's progress since returning to the home. The manager was very knowledgeable about my sister-in-law, very professional and knew all about her discharge and current situation. The staff were very friendly and I was very grateful for the cup of coffee they gave me after my long journey. I also met the nurse, who again was very knowledgeable about my sister-in-law. I would definitely recommend this care home to others. It is run exceptionally well.
My mother was a resident at Norton Hall Nursing Home from January to April 2023, having had a bad fall in November. Sadly she died at the age of 92. She was bed ridden for the 4 months that she was there. The care she received was beyond reproach. She was never an easy person to please and yet without fail the staff remained cheerful and helpful with a compassion that was inspirational. She had no complaints about her time there (other than she was not allowed to have a cigarette in her room....) and her wishes regarding her day to day activity were always accommodated. An amazing place to have spent her final days and we are so very grateful to all the staff there.
My mother is a resident at Norton Hall Nursing Home. She is receiving excellent care in friendly pleasant surroundings. The staff are always helpful, caring and attentive. At our frequent visits there is a friendly calm atmosphere with many social activities organized. We are extremley grateful to all at Norton Hall for the care and attention that is given for my mothers welfare.
Staff and management all work amazing and are always very happy. Mum did daycare her for five years before becoming a full-time resident. Very happy mum is spending her final years here wouldn’t have wanted anywhere else.
Excellent experience all around. Beautiful home in attractive surroundings with lots of parking. Staff are skilled & experienced in managing all manner of physical and mental ailments, consequently, residents are cared for with patience and respect. I was an almost daily visitor, and was treated like one of the family. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
A very homely environment, with friendly, caring staff and excellent home-cooked food. This is a relatively small care home in a traditional building which helps to create this friendly atmosphere. My father is in a single en suite room which has enabled us to personalise with pictures etc. Maintenance staff were always willing to move furniture, hang pictures etc.
Very friendly staff who care well for the residents. We are kept informed of important matters promptly as well as being kept informed of most things generally. There is a variety of entertainment put on for the residents which is fun and interesting for all. The nursing care is good and the home is kept clean and tidy. My mother is happy at the home.
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Norton Hall Nursing Home for two and a half years now, and throughout her time as a resident, she has received an exceptional level of care. The staff at Norton Hall do everything possible to accommodate her needs. As a family, we have every confidence that mum is in very good hands, the dedication shown by the care staff is admirable. We have always found the staff to be friendly, kind, companionate and caring treating mum with dignity and love. Mum is very settled, happy and content in this safe and loving environment. We would highly recommend Norton Hall to care for your loved ones.
My precious wee mum was nurtured at Norton Hall Nursing Home for the last 6 months of her life. From being alone in her flat in Worcester, mum's quality of life was enhanced when she moved to Norton Hall and for that, I am so grateful. I live overseas so the constant, caring communication was greatly appreciated.
We are very pleased with the care that our mother receives at Norton Hall Nursing Home. Staff are always attentive, friendly and professional. The home is clean and well maintained. Also seems the home works well with the NHS and has a very good GP practice working with the home.
Norton Hall Nursing Home was an ideal care home for my father to spend the last months of his life. The staff were extremely helpful, kind and compassionate. Although the staff were always extremely busy, I never felt that they conveyed any stress to the residents; indeed the place had a good, cheerful atmosphere. I enjoyed visiting the home as it is a lovely old house surrounded by trees and gardens. I just wish my father had been well enough to appreciate it more. The house was well-kept with regards to tidiness and cleanliness and had a warm homely feeling about it. My father was Polish and it was lovely that there were a few carers and nurses from other countries as well as England. I have no criticism of any of them - they do a wonderful job, all of them. I wish the home all good wishes for the future. Keep up the good work and I hope better covid free times are ahead.
