View Full Details of Stanfield Nursing HomeThank you to all the staff and management who gave our mum a safe, caring and dignified setting in which to spend her last days. The lovely people working at this care home are as dedicated as they are compassionate. My recommendation is therefore wholehearted and unreserved.
My mother was a resident at Stanfield Nursing Home for 9 months until her recent end-of-life care at the home. Mum was suffering from advanced Alzheimer's. All the staff at Stanfield whatever their capacity treated Mum with the utmost care and dignity. The home is spotlessly clean but homely and comfortable, well maintained, good choice, and ample homemade food. The gardens are a joy to sit in, always activities going on. A good ratio of staff to residents, giving physical and emotional care 24/7. It was so comforting to know Mum was getting the best care possible. Thank you Stanfield you have got it right!
I just wanted to say thank you to all the staff at Stansfield House for making my mum's brief stay with you so comfortable. What a lovely atmosphere you have created there with lots of daily activities scheduled, and staff giving my mum the attention, care, and respect she needed. The rooms were clean, and the food was generous and nutritious. Staff were only minutes away by buzzer when needed, and arrived quickly and with no complaint or fuss. Set in a lovely location, and with its own pretty garden, I felt sad to say goodbye on visits, but knew she was in a delightful place and was well cared for.
On behalf of the whole family we would like to say a huge thank you for the outstanding care you gave our Mum. Every member of staff, including the wonderful cooks, administration and nursing staff provided tireless care with empathy and respect. We had the reassurance of knowing that all the residents were warm, safe and well fed. We couldn't have wished Mum to have been in a better place to end her days.
I cannot thank the Administrative Lead and his team enough for the help and support of my father who has end-of-life dementia. I now have peace of mind knowing my father is extremely well cared for and safe. Everyone goes above and beyond. Dad is treated with respect and dignity. Having spent time with the Administrative Lead he kindly explained dementia to me and my husband we learnt more in ten minutes than we had been told in ten years. Dad was in hospital and we were then told he would not be able to go home due to having delirium and his dementia was deteriorating. We placed him in a local home only for them to say that they could not deal with his dementia. He was then admitted back to hospital and we had to find somewhere more suitable for him with nursing care. The Administrative Lead has been wonderful in helping me with Dad, he has been my guardian angel when no one else was willing to help and guide me. I cannot thank him enough. I highly recommend The Administrative Lead and his team.
Outstanding care home! I can't rate this home high enough and can't fault it at all. It's changed our lives since my Dad moved here. The staff are all outstanding and always go over and above for both Dad and us when we visit. There is always a high volume of staff too which is incredible and gives us a lot of comfort knowing Dad is always looked after so well. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they always take on board any little asks that we have to make Dad as comfortable as possible. I am also hugely grateful for the respect and dignity that is always shown to Dad. We now get quality time with Dad every time we visit him. This is a gem of a care home!
Mum was a resident of Stanfield Nursing Home for 15 months, having been living with mixed dementia for a number of years. We previously had a very poor experience elsewhere during a period of respite and seeing a loved one leave their home isn't easy but Stanfield provided a warm and welcoming environment from the beginning. We continuously had peace of mind that Mum was being well looked after, especially as Mum's condition worsened, we couldn't have asked for more than the dignity, patience and gentle care she was given. The peaceful and rural setting also allowed us to share some treasured final walks together. The staff, management and whole ethos are excellent, always demonstrating a high level of care and respect to all whom they care for.
Dad was getting rapidly more frail and confused and was no longer walking. Soon after he moved to Stanfield, we became very confident in the team indeed. We had absolute peace of mind that, although he was struggling to do anything for himself, the lovely staff were going to do those things gently and kindly and ensure his last days were as comfortable as they could make him. The whole atmosphere was positive each time we visited. It was a privilege to be able to leave him in good hands and not worry; you may not realize how powerful that is. Thank you to your remarkable people. Dad would have said a big 'Thank you' if he could have spoken it.
My father was moved from a care home further north because we were concerned about the lack of attention being given to very specific, but not complicated, needs after a period spent in hospital. If only we had moved him sooner! The staff at Stanfield have been nothing but professional, compassionate, patient and understanding. Their deeply respectful manner towards my father, even over the smallest of duties, when he was responsive continued when he slipped into a coma. Their kindness and compassion towards the family was seen by them as an important extension of their work, helping us through a very emotional and distressing time. The leadership clearly has a high expectation of the staff, who are well informed, communicative and helpful. My family have much for which to be grateful. My father was always clean, comfortable and consulted, giving him the dignity and care he deserved.
My Mum had vascular dementia and went to Stanfield at the end of March 2023. She was getting frail and couldn't be looked after by us anymore as she needed 24/7 care. She stayed there until her death in September 2023. Mum was continually assessed and her care plan changed to meet her changing needs as she declined. Mum had very good care while she was there and the end-of-life care was exceptional. She was treated with so much dignity and respect that her death was made slightly easier knowing that her needs were being met. The staff looked after us too and they also shed tears and hugs as we reminisced about the woman we loved. It was good to know that Mum was being so well cared for and my family and I would like to offer the staff a great big thank for all they did for us.
My mother moved into this home in 2016 when she had a lot of difficult medical conditions. The home cared for her so well over the six years she was there. I cannot thank all the staff - managers, nurses, cleaning staff - enough for all they did. On numerous occasions, doctors told me that my mother was coming to an end, only for the home to look after her so well that she survived for many more years. Every time I visited her, I saw first-hand how considerate all the staff were for her and how they genuinely cared for her well-being in every respect. A huge thank you from all my family.
What an amazing care home. Having worked as a nurse in some care homes, I wanted the best for my mum. I was so fortunate when my mum needed to have 24/7 care; they had a room available. The care my mum has recieved since she has been there has been exceptional; I cannot fault it. Although she has only been there a few weeks, they know my mum so well and provide such excellent person-centred care. As a family, we have total peace of mind and can highly recommend this incredible home.
As a family, we were delighted with the care, dignity and kindness shown to my brother-in-law during the time he was a resident at Stanfield Nursing Home by the management, nurses and all the staff. We would definitely recommend Stanfield Nursing Home. Thank you.
My husband was a resident in Stanfield House for three and a half years up to his death last month. It is a difficult decision to place one's life partner into the care of others, but I knew immediately that Stanfield House was the right environment for my husband. The building and gardens ensure safety and easy access for residents, but what struck me most was the feeling of kindness and happiness throughout. It is very much a team effort: the owners, administration, nursing staff, carers, housekeeping and catering make up that team. My husband was loved and respected by them all, and nothing was ever too much trouble. My family and I were shown that care and respect too. That care never faltered as his needs increased. In the last few months, as my husband's health rapidly declined, the decisions made for him by the owner and the nursing staff were so well considered, and as a family, we were always made to feel part of that process. I highly recommend Stanfield House.
My mother-in-law was only in Stanfield Nursing Home for a short while; however, the staff were incredibly knowledgeable regarding her dementia, very experienced and realistic, something that was much appreciated. We only visited one nursing home and that was Stanfield. We came away feeling secure in the knowledge that this was the best place for her and, we were right.
My twin brother, suffering from dementia, was a Stanfield resident for two and a half years. He was confused and at times, angry, but the home treated him with great care and understanding of his condition. Communication with the family was excellent, so we had every confidence that he was in the right place, given his condition, and that he was being very well cared for. Thank you for all that love, respect and care that you gave him.
Placing a loved one in the care of others is a very difficult thing to do, but Stanfield gave us confidence from the outset that they would care for my uncle with love, compassion and understanding. Through some very tricky times, they have remained professional yet approachable, caring and kind, but above all have continuously shown respect and warmth towards my uncle and the entire family, for which, we cannot thank them enough. We know that he was in a safe and loving environment where nothing was too much trouble. Thank you, Stanfield, for all that you are.
My mom was in Stanfield for just over a year and had complex physical and mental needs. Mom was only expected to last a few weeks when she first moved to Stanfield but lasted for just over a year. I am sure that the high standard of care she received at Stanfield influenced this. Mom grew to love the home and all of the staff there. As mentioned, Mom had complex needs, and it took time for the staff to understand Mom's needs as she used to become very scared. The owner and the staff worked really hard with Mom and myself. They never gave in even when they had setbacks. Communication between myself, the owner and the staff was excellent, which again had a positive impact on Mom's physical and mental well-being. Mom loved Stanfield and trusted all of the carers; she saw it as her home. I know, as a daughter, I always felt reassured that my mom was in the right place, and they always involved me in my mom's care, which was really important for me.
I couldn’t recommend Stanfield anymore if I tried; the care they give all the residents is above and beyond expectations. My grandad was in during Covid, and I commend them so highly in keeping all the residents safe and well during the pandemic. Nothing is ever too much for them for the residents or family members, they made my grandad’s final moments so happy, which makes us a family so at ease that he is safe and well looked after. They treat every resident with the utmost respect and dignity. The staff at Stanfield always make you feel very welcome and always have time to have a chat and answer any questions, regardless of how minor they may be. I have an immense amount of respect for all the staff there, especially during the pandemic - a huge thank you to them for keeping my grandad so well looked after. Should I ever have to go into a care home, I hope Stanfield is still there.
My beloved uncle sadly passed away last month at Stanfield after being a resident there for around 4-years. I found the care given at Stanfield to be excellent. All of the staff I found to be friendly and approachable, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The staff were caring with us as a family as well as my uncle and always kept us well informed of any change in my uncle's condition. Although Covid made visiting more difficult, Stanfield managed the situation well and kept the residents safe. My uncle occasionally displayed episodes of challenging behaviour caused by his dementia, and the staff took this in their stride and had the skills to handle this with calmness and compassion. I am a registered nurse by profession, and I would also recommend Stanfield as somewhere that appears to be a professional and well-run establishment to work in. I would like to thank all the staff at Stanfield for the amazing care given to my uncle.
