View Full Details of Elmhurst Care HomeWe have appreciated what everyone at Elmhurst have done for mum and us as her family. We have been so impressed with the high standards you operate with throughout your business. We understand how difficult this task could be when there are so many facets to your service and where it involves a lot of very different types of staff interacting with one another under often challenging conditions. From a visitor's perspective we have always been impressed by how your staff have made our visits comfortable and enjoyable. Well done Team Elmhurst! I will miss my interactions with all your lovely staff. Thank you for making mum's last months so pleasant for her. We appreciate that she may not have been the easiest person to interact with at times but she carried a lot of burdens, and in the end, she was just exhausted. You dealt with her with patience and dignity and we are very grateful to you. Finally, mum loved her room and the view gave her enormous pleasure.
My father moved in to Elmhurst Care Home at quite short notice; a move made possible by the flexibility and accommodation of the management. Over the course of the last six weeks, the care provided to him has been exemplary. The facilities are excellent: modern, clean and to a high standard. According to my father, this is true of the food too. However, without doubt, the best aspect of the experience at Elmhurst has been the staff. From the senior management, to the hands-on carers, their approach has been professional, certainly, but, as importantly, they have been warm, interested and genuinely caring. Whilst my father is still finding the transition difficult, he has nothing but good words for Elmhurst and its staff. I couldn't agree more. We both feel very lucky that he has been able to move here.
My godmother spent the last eighteen months of her life in Elmhurst Care Home. The care they gave her was excellent and all the staff members, without exception, were so efficient and friendly. They were very attentive to my godmother's needs, and the personal care and cleanliness of everywhere was exceptional. My godmother was happy there, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Elmhurst to anyone.
Elmhurst is a top class care home, I can't fault it. The care my mum was given was second to none. So glad we chose this care home. The staff are lovely and mum was treated with care and dignity throughout her time there. Everything from the care, food, activities and the high standard of cleanliness is a credit to the staff and Management.
My mother went to Elmhurst Care Home direction from hospital. She had been in hospital for three months following a number of falls - arm and pelvis broken and head injury and broken nose. When she got to Elmhurst, she was not able to stand or feed herself etc. During her time there, her improvement has been astonishing - she is now well and interacting. The care could not have been better. All staff so brilliant and so kind.
Fantastic staff and environment. So warm, friendly and managing to create a personal environment in a well-run, highly efficient setting!
Our father lived at Elmhurst from June 2023 until his death in November 2024. This last part of his life was made so comfortable and enjoyable due to the incredible team at Elmhurst who could not have been more supportive to him. He often said, "I should have moved here years ago" and that sentiment was due to the genuine care and support that the team showed him. He was a sociable man and enjoyed the jokes and comradery at Elmhurst. The range of the daily activities was very impressive. One of the things he often said to us was "They go the extra mile for you here". It was the hundreds of extra things that the team did - arranging a social media call with his great-granddaughter on her birthday, making sure he had his paper, etc - that turned the Home into a home for him.
I was very impressed with the appearance of the home - very clean, excellent decor - it was like entering a hotel. The staff were both professional and friendly. My family were very reassured that my aunt was being very well cared for. Thank you all.
My wife received exemplary care in Elmhurst and was very pleased with her stay. Elmhurst is a beautiful home in a very pretty rural setting with lovely views. The management and care staff were second to none and they took great care to provide a variety of food that was pureed especially for her. Her room was a perfect blend of practical comfort and the feel of home. My wife will be coming back regularly for her period of respite.
My auntie was at Elmhurst from the beginning of May to the end of June, when she unfortunately passed away. The staff were so kind to her and us, her family. Nothing was too much trouble.
My mother lived at Elmhurst from July 2021 until she died on 3rd May this year. I had moved her from another care home where the standard of care had been less than satisfactory. The purpose-built accommodation at Elmhurst is ideal, the food is attractively presented and healthy and everywhere is spotlessly clean and regularly redecorated. The best thing about Elmhurst though is the staff. Having visited my mother once or twice a week for three years and phoned her once or twice a day, I have always found them to be polite, professional, friendly, caring and patient. My mother was definitely in the best place.
Compassionate, patient-centred care delivered by wonderful staff. So many places claim to be a home from home, but Elmhurst truly is. They took all of us in as members of the family and made us feel part of the care they delivered in every way. Their attention to detail is second to none meaning they provide proactive care at every level. We will miss the staff and the sense of community we have come to know and love. We would not hesitate to recommend Elmhurst Care Home.
I am a registered nurse with 30 years experience. Elmhurst Care Home is beautifully designed, light and airy, with good floors that look likely to prevent serious injury from falls. The staff are always apparently on hand in the large communal areas and engaged with residents (no TV watching, no checking mobile phones). The staff are super courteous, considerate and appropriately humorous too. Every member of staff is impeccably turned out. Rooms are excellent. The food is superb. Activities sound fun and enthusiastically run. Personal care for my dad is absolutely great, he looks really well and happy.
I have no hesitation in highly recommending Elmurst. My Mother was only a resident for three months but in that short time, she received the most outstanding care in all respects. All the staff were exceptional and went out of their way to make her deteriorating condition as comfortable as possible. My first impressions are of a nice hotel rather than a care home. The feel of the place is really special. Visitors were made to feel welcome at all times by the friendly reception staff and nothing was too much trouble. Her room was very clean and bright as were the public areas. The food was very tasty and all homemade in-house. The senior nursing staff have excellent training and experience so it was reassuring to know that my Mother was in the safest of hands. From our first viewing I could tell that the manager had a warm and hands-on approach, all the staff seemed invested and enjoyed working there. I feel lucky to have found my Mother a place at Elmhurst.
My father has been in the care of Elmhurst since May last year. He has been cared for in that time beautifully, how any relative would like their family and loved ones to be looked after with care and dignity. He always looked well cared for and groomed. My father's condition makes it difficult for carers to care for him with personal care, but they did it with professionalism and thoughtfulness. As a family, we could relax and know he was receiving the best of care. Thank you to all the staff that made it possible.
Our dear friend was in Elmhurst for 2 1/2 years. On the day she went in, a beautifully presented room and a lovely vase of fresh flowers. The care - dignity and compassion she received from carers - admin cleaners - kitchen staff and all involved were exemplary, especially in the last six weeks - also the empathy shown to us when visiting was quite humbling. How fortunate that such a care home was available when our 'loved one' needed support.
I could not believe it when I visited Elmhurst with a view to taking my sister into their care. Friendliness, decor, and cleanliness, all she would need to be provided, trained nurses and wonderful carers. She quickly settled in and joined the social side provided. From the first day to her last, she had the very best care and affection from all. As for myself everyone always had time for me, if just for a chat, I was made so welcome and they were so kind to me at the end of my sister's life. I knew I had found the very best place for my sister to live out her last years.
My father found moving from his own home difficult but the staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to help him settle in. We always felt confident that my father was receiving the best care. All staff were friendly and helpful when we were visiting. Highly recommended.
I cannot speak highly enough of the care and support given to my father during his residency at Elmhurst, by all the staff. From my first meetings with the management, then nursing staff, carers, chef, reception and maintenance staff, nothing was ever too much trouble to make my father comfortable. Always kind and caring they went above and beyond in the care and support given, and living abroad myself, it was of the utmost importance that I had confidence in his care. Visitors were always welcomed at any time, and most importantly the staff were always cheerful, chatty and full of information. I could ring at any time and the staff would always know me and would be able to give a fully informed update report on my father's health and well-being. The facilities were bright, clean, airy, and most of all cheerful. The equipment supplied was comprehensive, and the catering excellent, with an impressive menu and selection. I cannot thank, or speak highly enough of Elmhurst's care.
I cannot praise this facility highly enough. Not only are the buildings bright, cheerful and spotlessly clean but the staff are in a league of their own. They are ALL so caring and helpful to the residents and their relatives. Nothing is too much trouble - they go above and beyond in every respect. As a family, we were confident that Dad was being given the best possible care. He was happy and felt safe and valued. Visitors were welcomed and made to feel part of the 'Elmhurst Family'. Sadly our dad passed away recently but the staff extended their caring ethos to the whole family, making the process of saying goodbye as easy as it could be. I would recommend this residential home to anyone and everyone. It is outstanding in every category but especially the staff. I cannot thank them enough for the care they gave my dad and hope they realise how very special they all are and how appreciative our family is.
