View Full Details of The Old VicarageExcellent location and people to visit. Residents are superbly cared for. Management are brilliant. Staff are excellent. Residents rooms are fully furnished. Very clean throughout the home. Meals are excellent. They make sure the residents are safe and secure. Value for money. There are a range of activities for the residents.
Full 24-hour nursing care required and carried out for quite a difficult patient. Well managed with dignity and understanding.
My dad has been a resident for just under 12 months. He has settled in really well, something I was apprehensive about. The staff are always welcoming and many go over and above to make each resident feel heard and part of what is going on. The rooms are comfortable and we have been able to take Dad's personal items to make it more comfortable. I would recommend The Old Vicarage to anyone in need of residential care.
My mum has been at The Old Vicarage for around 6 months. I'm writing this review because I just saw the review from the past I just wanted to say there are new owners and managers and chefs etc. The home is fantastic. Always improving The Old Vicarage looks after my mum 100%. My mum loves it there, my mum thinks it's her home now and is looked after 100%. We can go there anytime and take our nugget/dog/ to see her at any time: they are so approachable and nothing is too much trouble. I can go on but will stop there just wanted to let everyone know how happy we are.
During his 4 month stay my husband has been helped to settle into the home. The carers have been attentive and kept him tidy and medication has been administered as prescribed by a doctor. At night, one of the staff, on occasion, has been less than patient with his needs. This has been unfortunate as the other staff are very kind. Reception is always welcoming and helpful.
My mother is looked after here very well.
Everyone is kind and caring to residents and their relatives.
My father-in-law has been here for about eight weeks. We all, as his family, have been very impressed and pleased with all aspects of his care. The staff are always happy and helpful and as visitors, we are always made welcome and kept well informed. The food always looks very tasty.
All we want is for our family member to be comfy, looked after and treated with dignity.
Always a good experience when visiting.
The overall care given to my wife is good. Certain times I have to seek assistance in maintaining she does not wet herself, this seems to be when certain staff are on duty. I don't get any information on what she requires ie soap, shampoo or any clothing she needs. Medical wise the response is excellent. I have asked that when soup is offered brown bread is offered, can I please ask that such bread is available, if not then I am informed and I will bring some brown bread for the soup.
My granny really enjoys being here. She likes how lovable and well-looked after she is, everyone made her feel so welcomed when she arrived. There's lots to do, like sit in the garden, lots of activities such as pool table, tennis and much more. The food here is really good and carers are lovely and very chatty.
My aunt is well cared for at The Old Vicarage. The staff are friendly and helpful. My aunt says they look after her well. The home is clean, tidy, and warm and there is always a drink on the table near her bed.
I'm so pleased with the variation of activities at the Vicarage. Mum is very happy here.
Staff are always friendly and helpful, my aunt speaks highly of all of them, all her needs are met, she loves the food and her room and enjoys the activities. For visitors, parking can be a problem, the entrance to the home is very worn, large potholes could damage your car.
The staff are friendly and professional with a team leader who genuinely cares about her residents' well-being and also helps at busy times, to feed and care for the residents. My personal experience is that all the Old Vicarage staff are helpful and friendly, taking the time to chat to and reassure residents when required.
The care staff and office staff are very helpful and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. All measures were carried out with Covid regulations on every visit. Good organisation for visiting times. Made my Aunt as comfortable as possible.
During our visit, all members of staff are welcoming and helpful. Teamwork appears paramount with good leadership. My Mother always appears well cared for, her rapport with all staff clearly demonstrates that despite her Dementia she feels safe and content. As a family, we feel confident in The Old Vicarage Nursing home and members of the staff/team. Thank you.
I find that the staff are very helpful and caring. My mother always looks clean and comfortable. She has a beautiful room and when I visit I often find they have put her radio on for her tuned in to Classic FM, which is her favourite station. As my mother seems to be nearing the end of her life she is frail and sometimes confused but there is a sense of peace. This is a great comfort to me.
The Old Vicarage really helped Mum to settle in well and quickly set up support to help her mental well being and physical needs. Despite the challenges of covid, they have always communicated to family with sensitivity and consideration.
