View Full Details of Park House Nursing HomeMy husband has been at Park House Nursing Home for a few months now, I was impressed from first contact when we were greeted by a team of staff including management, on admission. Prior to admission, my husband's behaviour was extremely erratic, he had spend a week in another home from which he successfully escaped on no less than 4 occasions. He settled very quickly at Park House and became much calmer, I attribute this to the care and knowledge of the staff. I often have a meal with my husband if I happen to be there at meal times and regardless, I'm always offered tea or coffee on arrival. There are lots of activities that residents are encouraged to take part in and December has been particularly busy on that front. I know that my husband is receiving the care that he needs, more than I could provide on my own at home and as important, he's safe.
I cannot thank all of the staff enough for their care, compassion, and attention to my Dad. They go above and beyond for all of the residents in difficult circumstances at times, nothing is too much trouble. They helped Dad and me through an emotional process into residential care life and we're supportive and understanding. They welcome everyone with open arms, always a cup of tea or a supportive arm when things get hard. Everyone's kindness oozed from them and I am grateful for the part of that kindness they gave to Dad. The whole team are a credit to the manager and she certainly has an eye for recruiting the right people for the job. Dad's end-of-life care was dealt with dignity and compassion and I was involved every step of the way and kept Informed thankfully I was with Dad when he peacefully passed away. He always had a smile for every one of the amazing team there. Amazing team and I thank you.
Just to say my husband is well looked after and to me the staff are all very kind and caring, again I would like to say thank you to all for my husband. Thanks.
My expereince has been very positive, right from the first time I visited. My husband moved to Park House during lockdown, and this was handled very sensitively. All the staff are friendly, caring and aware of individual needs. They keep calm under stress and that helps the other residents and visitors to remain calm. The atmosphere is either calm or quiet or bubbly and filled with joy and smiles. It would be great if all care homes could be as good as Park House.
I have found Park House staff and office staff very kind to my husband and myself, they go very high to us. Food is very good. What a choice. Staff ask what they like and they go all out to please. Ask as they pass are you ok, the staff use names to call. Hard-working always. Their eyes open to everyone.
The atmosphere at Park House is always welcoming, friendly and positive. Visitors can arrive any time and don't need to ring in advance which means it always feels genuine. The care staff get the best out of my mother and manage to connect with her sense of humour, always treating her with compassion. She enjoys the food and regular snacks and the staff seem to go 'the extra mile' to find activities she enjoys and even manages 1:1 quality time. Highly recommend Park House and we as a family are relieved my mother appears so happy there.
I visit my mother once a week at Park House and I am always made to feel very welcome and I am always kept up to date on how my mom has been and what she has done. The staff are always so kind to my mom and happy and always make my mom smile even though she is immobile now and can't talk properly, I am so happy with how my mom is looked after and do not have a bad word to say about Park House and everyone there.
My mother arrived at Park House Nursing Home just before Christmas after being discharged from the hospital. Mum was treated in the hospital following a fall which left a broken hip. Mum has complex care needs and can be challenging, she is extremely anxious. The support that she has received from everyone at Park House Nursing Home has reassured the family that even though Mum's dementia is getting worse, she is being really well looked after. Everyone treats Mum with dignity and respect.
The manager and her team have been amazing. Mum has needed endless amounts of support and understanding. Mum's progress, in terms of personal care, including hair and feet, as she went for years without allowing anyone to assist her combined with her own self-neglect, the team at Park House Nursing Home have used tact and patience and has achieved so much.
We attended the Park House recent event. Dad does not tend to like being outside but the staff brought him outside to see us. They enabled him to return indoors, as was his wish, but later encouraged him back outside where he sat with us as a family for an hour. It was magical. The staff were on hand to help and treat my dad with the kindness and respect he deserves.
The care given by all staff and management at Park House care home is second to none. All Covid restrictions were carefully and very professionally carried out according to government guidelines. Activities are very appropriate. All staff are very welcoming and caring to visitors. Care given is very personal and respectful. Would definitely recommend.
In my opinion, there is nothing more anyone could have done for both my husband and myself when the very sad time came of having to pass a loved one over into someone else's care. Consistent, helpful, patient, respectful and very professional care was always delivered with a smile from all members of staff. I consider my husband very fortunate to have been welcomed into this excellent nursing home and I am very grateful for the kindness and support given to me.
Excellent care and support, treated with dignity and clean. Safe and secure, would recommend.
Following a rapid deterioration in mother-in-law's mental health and behaviour, we struggled to find a care setting that could accommodate her complex needs. Park House staff have been amazing. They have provided person-centred care making my mother-in-law feel more settled. She has improved in cognition and is clearly content and well cared for.
Since being at Park House, my father-in-law has been so confident and always looks well cared for compared to his previous home. Park House staff obviously have a clear understanding of dementia and how to treat people with it. They don't just sedate them to make them sleep all day. My father-in-law is treated with respect and dignity, just like you want your loved ones treated. I would 100% recommend Park House. Due to covid restrictions, I can't rate what is inside the home.
Right from the very start when notified that my Mum needed to go into care, the manager and staff showed extreme professionalism and care when showing Dad and myself around the home and the subsequent care and attention given to Mum has been of the highest standard. Unfortunately, at a later date, my Dad also had the need to go into care, so we had no hesitation in contacting the Park House Nursing Home to see if they could accommodate him, which they have. Although this was a very difficult situation for me, all the staff have been very supportive and helped me greatly.
My husband moved to Park House 1 year ago, during lockdown. I have therefore not yet been able to enter the home apart from the visiting area and have only recently had physical contact with him. My observations are therefore based on limited experience. Taking this into account, my experience has been one of caring and skilled staff working under difficult circumstances who treat residents and relatives with respect. They put me at ease from the beginning and most importantly my husband is relaxed and settled with staff and his surroundings. Medical needs are met promptly and he always looks well cared for.
During the last fifteen months, which were extremely difficult for everyone, staff and management have done their utmost to maintain the high standards of care, we have come to expect from this residential home. Facilitating and continuing contact with our loved ones has not been easy for them. However, every effort has been made to enable this to happen, whilst observing all guidelines, very rigorously. Care, compassion and observing the dignity of residents, I could tell, had continued. We look forward to getting back our welcoming "open house" visits to our loved ones (ASAP!).
From the onset when my wife came to Park House for respite, there was nothing but very high care, concern, and support both her and myself. This has continued unabated from the time when she became a full-time resident. The home is always very clean and tidy and her room. The food is good and varied. The dining room just that, not just a place to eat. There is always thought and care for the resident.
It was such a difficult time when Dad was taken to Park House for emergency respite care during the pandemic and then being told he couldn't go home again he needed full-time care, but the staff were so kind when I rang to see how he was and I was greeted with such warmth that I knew he was in a really good place. When I saw Dad for the first time during a garden visit I couldn't believe how happy he was and he looked so well, he couldn't stop talking about how good and kind everyone was to him and the marvellous food. The carers treated him with such respect and dignity, I can't thank Park House enough.
