View Full Details of Morris Care CentreRecently Mum celebrated her milestone 100th birthday. Morris Care helped us to make Mum feel like the queen she is. They put on a fabulous party for her, and they welcomed a large group of family and friends, the chefs made special effort to create delicious food and cake. Thanks to all the staff but especially the wonderful reception team, 2nd floor careers, catering and Social Activities
As you come into the home, you are welcomed by the lovely receptionist who is always polite, friendly and helpful, the home is clean and has a lovely homely feel to it. The care staff work very hard and are exceptionally kind and caring. Mom has a lot of visitors who are always made to feel very welcome. The activities here are excellent, the food is amazing with lots of choices. In my opinion, the home is outstanding and I cannot praise it too highly.
Nice open reception and relaxed atmosphere.
Friendly atmosphere, staff all friendly and professional. Excellent care daily. Excellent cleanliness. Very homely. Food is excellent with great choices. Manager always available to talk and listen. Reception welcoming, staff and area. Calming music. Welcoming communal areas to watch TV. Lovely dining room. Personal care exceptional. My mum is exceptionally happy here.
Mom has been in care with you for a couple of months and she is loving it. Socially she is enjoying it and seem to have settled in well. Care team are very helpful and attentive. I would say fantastic. Room needed some maintanence but generally good sized and well presented. She loves the activities and getting out and about. So far, very very good. Thanks.
I'm happy with everything and it's one of the best places I've seen. Thank you all for taking care of my mom.
Always happy with the care my dad gets and very clean and tidy at all times. So all in all very happy.
I came to the care home in December 2023. I have had the best care from the staff, they have been brilliant. The rooms and the facilities are very good, you only got to ask the staff, they will do anything for you. It is value for money, the best place I have been in. I have been looked after better here than the hospital. The management asks if you need anything, and they do it for you the same day.
Helpful and kind staff. Nice food, good activities.
My sister has been a resident at Morris Care Centre for ten years. She has been looked after very well over that time. The pandemic was very difficult for everyone but the staff did a very good job helping me to keep in touch with my sister, a lot of improvements have been made at Morris Care in the last few months and this is very beneficial for everyone concerned. The care/support is excellent as is the activities staff.
A lot of the time pleased. Just could they please check when people need changing. The staff are very helpful when I ask anything.
My cousin is in good shape, he looks happy, talks to me happily and he still remembers things that happened years back when we were growing up. Thanks for your care.
My 22-year-old grandson has complex needs that have been met by Morris Care. The majority of the staff are very caring and friendly. The main areas have been decorated recently and create a lovely homely feel. The main carer for my grandson is excellent and has developed a very good relationship with him.
My father is new to the care home system and the staff have a genuine affection for him, their professional manner has eased him into feeling very comfortable and in his own words 'cared for'. The month of June had a change of residence to a smaller group, and access to the garden with extra activities to be planned. Their close scrutiny saw a suddenly developed health concern, rapidly treated in hospital.
Morris Care Centre is an excellent care centre. Everything I need to do they have helped me with and the staff are very helpful. I am independent but help is there straight away if I need it. The general support is excellent, the activities encourage me to mix with people as I am very sociable. I also enjoy helping out the activity people and I run the little shop in the afternoons which I enjoy. I have made a good friend here with one of the residents and we have a premium television provider and a subscription video streaming service to watch in the evening. We love the sport and films. In my opinion having regular staff to look after me is a good thing as they get to know me and I get to know them and it just works well for everybody! If you need to talk to senior management they are very supportive, trustworthy and they always find time for me. I am very happy here, it's a nice place to be! I treat it as my home with the added benefit of having the care staff to look after me.
My mom was in this care home. She was treated with disrespect. She called carers outside her door, 2 of them, to be told to shut up! Also, they double-padded her and was told she was only allowed 2 pads a day so she stopped drinking and ended up with a very bad water infection, ending up in hospital on a drip. She was in a very bad way. Nurses at the hospital told us a lot of Morris care residents end up in the hospital! My mom has Parkinson’s, 87 years old. I did put in a complaint but it was put down by the manager saying it was untrue. I’ve spoken to carers that have worked there, they soon left, terrible place to work. I think that says it all. I’m going to the Care Quality Commission so others don’t go through what my mom went through. It’s about time cameras are fitted to a central hub, not the care home.
The dementia unit is a small unique care home that caters for all stages of dementia. Its 11 rooms are all on the ground floor with excellent facilities (ensuite, spacious, clean and bright). The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff are kind, considerate and qualified. Nothing is too much trouble, and they go above and beyond with their care. The garden is peaceful and offers a bright place to sit/walk around. Security is 100% - double door locked access, windows are partial opening in rooms.
My mum had a very short stay to receive palliative care, following a stay in hospital. I could not have wished for better care, kindness and attention from all staff who had any involvement with my mum. She was treated with such care and dignity, nothing was rushed. The room was spotlessly clean, and had everything mum and visitors could need when staying with her. We were provided with ample drinks and even sandwiches to keep us comfortable during her last day, meaning we didn't have to worry about anything and could just be there for mum. From the moment she went in, until my final walk out of the centre, I can not fault anything and I am so pleased that her final days were spent at such a brilliantly run home, with amazing, dedicated and professional staff. Thank you from all her family.
Mom went to Morris Care on palliative care from hospital. Although they are very short-staffed mom was treated with care and compassion, the staff on moms floor were helpful and friendly and treated me the same way mom was treated. Mom passed away with dignity at Morris Care just before Christmas which could have been so much worse for everyone if she had gone to hospital.
The so-called care my 95-year-old mother received at this home was nothing short of shocking. She was in for physiotherapy following a fall which broke her pelvis in 2 places. The permanent staff did their best with the resources they had, but the level of care still fell well short of what it should have been. Buzzer not answered when she needed the toilet, left in bed for 16 hours until noon, lying in her own urine, cold food are only a few of the issues. So much so that I made sure a family member was with her all day until she was put to bed at night. I got her out of there as quickly as possible. I want to reiterate that in no way do I blame the permanent staff.
