View Full Details of Hammerwich Hall Care HomeStaff are very caring and helpful, offered drinks straight away. Residents look happy and tidy.
Staff at Hammerwich Hall are very caring and professional. My friend has been a resident here for 12 months and has settled really well. Thank you.
My nan is at this home and receives the most amazing care and affection from the staff. The care staff go above and beyond and the management team are friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. Highly recommend this home to anyone who is worried about putting their loved ones into care as they make you feel at ease and safe that this care will be provided. The food is hit and miss but again they will provide anything that is requested. The activities coordinator is always full of smiles, approachable and makes everyone's day.
My father recently returned from a 3 weeks stay at Hammerwick. From our first contact with the home to the day I collected him from the home, everything went swimmingly. Even when my father had to briefly return to hospital with suspected DVT. Hammerwich dealt with it all very well. The staff are very caring and take the time to really engage with its residents. The setting is rural and quiet too. Would definitely recommend Hammerwich for short stays such as ours offering convalescent care.
Fantastic staff providing high quality care which is compassionate and caring in a lovely environment. A great range of activities which were fun-filled and varied. Thank you to all the team at Hammerwich Hall for everything you do.
My Mom came here after an 8-week stay in hospital. The hope was for her to return to independent living however this was not possible. It was a difficult and emotional decision for her to come into the care system. To be able to trust other people to care for, show dignity to and most importantly trust with your precious 92-year-old mom is really difficult. I can only say that mom has settled in and is treated with all of the above. They respect her decisions but also mine and the rest of the family. Nothing is too much trouble. We were able to celebrate her birthday in the tearoom with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren present. We had a wonderful few hours together. Mom says that your own home is best but this is very nearly as good. That is high compliments coming from a very independent lady. I feel reassured she is safe and well cared for. Only the best for the best. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.
I treat this as my mum's home, it's local to me. The staff are lovely and friendly. My mum feels safe.
My mother has been a resident here for two months and settled in well. All the staff are friendly and caring. There is a welcoming atmosphere, and it feels like an extended happy family. My mother has occasionally required some additional health care input since arriving, and this has been dealt with promptly, and I've been kept informed about the outcome. My mother has always been treated with respect and in a sensitive manner. I feel free to visit whenever I can and know that I can approach staff about any concerns, which have always been responded to. They have put a lot of effort into ensuring my mother's room is comfortable and adjusted to meet her needs. There are a lot of stimulating events taking place during the week, along with special festival celebrations. Overall, the family are very happy with the excellent care provided at Hammerwich Hall.
I cannot thank the staff at Hammerwich Hall Care Home enough for the way they looked after Mum during her time there. She really enjoyed her stay.
My mum is 97 and has been here since April 2022 after major surgery on her leg. She made great progress with her health and settled in very well. I always feel welcome and included, which is important as a close relative; the team are an extension of our family. They are extremely professional, although sometimes stretched for time, and work hard to ensure Mum is comfortable and well cared for. The new manager is great, and I feel very reassured with her at the helm. Mum's room is lovely, spacious and like home from home. The food is good, and the birthday cakes are wonderful. There is a lot of effort with activities and special theme days, and the decorations always look fabulous. I haven't met the owners, but feel funding should be available for the upkeep of the house and grounds. It is a beautiful house and has very attractive grounds, but now we don't have a gardener/maintenance person to keep it neat. Soft furnishings are also tired and need upgrading.
My mom has not long returned from a 10 day respite stay at Hammerwich Hall Care Home whilst we were on holiday and absolutely loved it. She said it felt like a holiday for herself too! The staff were absolutely lovely, giving wonderful care. Food was good and the rooms were fab; it was everything she could have wanted and more. She made lots of new friends and is looking forward to visiting regularly whenever we go away. We can 100% recommend Hammerwich Hall.
I recently had a 2-week respite at Hammwewich Hall Care Home and was pleasantly surprised by the welcome, it was like home from home. The staff were kind and very helpful, the food was plenty and lots of choices and would highly recommend it.
My father stayed at Hammerwich Hall Care Home for 2 weeks respite, this is his second stay and it was wonderful. I worried about respite care as he is not very sociable, he did join in with some activities but was also quite happy to sit in the many communal areas and watch. When we first arrived at Hammerwich he was taken in by the beautiful building and atmosphere. All of the staff are so lovely and kind, they treat the residents as individuals and can tell that they care very much about them. I think that it bought out my Dad's true personality and he was very at ease and not stressed about how he is at home. He has mixed dementia and I was worried that he would rebel and misbehave but this was not the case. The communication is wonderful. I rang every other day to check on how he was and always got a full report. There is a fabulous range of activities inside and out for the residents. I have spoken to my Dad about a return visit and he is already looking forward to it, that in itself says it all!
Very nice place. Look after you very well. Food good. Good activities. Will be coming again.
My sister was treated very well in Hammerwich Hall. She was there for seventeen months. I found all the staff to be friendly and most helpful. Anything I asked of them they acted upon immediately. I found them all very approachable. In fact, I miss seeing them, as I do some of the other residents. They became part of my life as well as my sisters. My sister wasn’t in great shape when she moved into Hammerwich Hall. She had been in hospital for fifteen weeks and had lost a considerable amount of weight and was still losing weight. The staff at Hammerwich Hall sorted out her diet and stabilised her weight. They made sure she didn’t stray from her gluten-free diet. Her room and bathroom were always kept spotlessly clean and warm. The building itself was always kept warm. My sister was never cold, even in the depth of winter. Whether she was in her room, the lounge or the dining room. I have no complaints about Hammerwich Hall, only praise. Thank you all.
My Mother has been a resident for over twelve months having transferred following an illness. She is very content, and all her stress and worry has disappeared. The staff in the home are very kind and friendly and work extremely hard to provide a very high standard of care for her.
Very nice care home in a rural setting. The staff always seem very caring to the residents. However, the home constantly appears to be understaffed. The food quality has dropped considerably in the three years my aunt has been there. I think this is something that should be looked at with urgency. Old people don’t eat a lot of food but what they have should be of a decent quality.
The care home is lovely and homely. The staff at the care home are very caring and supportive of all the residents, any medical issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently. The menu on offer has just been renewed and the choice is very good. The rooms are lovely and residents are allowed to make it their own adding some of their own personal belongings. We are very happy that we chose the home.
Very caring staff and management take the views of residents and relatives into account. For us, as a family, it's important to know they are well looked after and happy, and we can visit when we want to. They have recently had new meal menus, and the meals look very good. Mom always says the staff are lovely, and they couldn't be anywhere better. When we take them out, they get tired, and say they want to go 'home,' and it's reassuring they look at Hammerwich Hall as home.
My relative has been in Hammerwich Hall Care Home for 14 years now. He has always recieved the highest standard of care from dedicated and very caring staff, and the staff always take the time to chat with my relative and make him feel welcome. There have been many activities that my relative has enjoyed whilst at Hammerwich Hall Care Home, and I can see the painting he has completed when I visit him. The care home has beautiful gardens, which my relative enjoys walking around when he is able to, and the home is clean and well looked after by the staff there. Staff contact me to update me on my relative's care and treatment as appropriate. I am very grateful to all the staff members for looking after my relative so well over the last 14 years.
