View Full Details of Lakeview Care HomeMy Dad was in Lake view care home for almost 8 years. Initially on Kirby unit and then Ullswater. During this time i can honestly say that the care he recieved was exeptional. Everyone treated him with such kindness and dignity. Not all care homes have this level of care, if it wasnt for Lakeview we would have lost my Dad along time ago. Every effort is made to ensure each patient lives in the very best way possible. Visiting Dad was always a pleasure, leaving him never a worry as we knew that the team would be there for him 100%. You can not ask for more. We lost my Dad in January, all the team at Lakeview supported us through this difficult time, we grieved together. We will be forever grateful for the love and care given to my Dad.
Very caring staff towards patients. All of the staff are very friendly, nothing is too much to ask of them. I would totally recommend this care home to anyone in the knowledge that they will not be disappointed.
I was an emotional wreck having to be put in the position of finding a care home for my precious mum, who was diagnosed with end of life and I had to face it that home care just wasn't enough. I saw some pretty grim places until I found Lakeview Care Home. Her room was lovely, big windows overlooking farmland. All of the staff were exceptional, they treated her with such care and dignity, I knew she was in safe hands. Also, thank you to all the staff for their kindness they showed to my brother and me too. Anyone in agony over choosing a care home then please visit Lakeview, you won't be disappointed.
Staff are very good including cleaning staff. Always on hand to answer any questions and look after all resident's needs. Always made them welcome and feel this is the best place for my husband to stay. Kendal is a well-run unit.
Since moving to Lakeview Care Home, my husband has been a lot happier and settled. The staff are really good.
The Kendal unit is always clean and very welcoming, and the staff are always happy, welcoming and professional. My partner is looked after very well, he is happy. I have no concerns for his well-being.
Been coming now for nearly 3 years. The care is excellent under extremely difficult situations.
Since my dad has been on the Keswick unit, the staff have been very caring and have tried their best to care for him and myself. When I need to talk with either the manager or a colleague, they are happy to spend time with me.
My mom is in the Keswick unit. My mother has been there for nearly two years now and presented originally with great confusion and aggression, the staff handled her perfectly. They didn't drug her quietly or strap her down (as I've seen in other institutions) they simply took the verbal abuse and carefully controlled her more violent episodes, I never saw her with bruises. The rooms are very basic and small, but the important thing is that she's treated well and is happy now.
My mother had complex care needs due to her deteriorating mental capacity and moved into the Loweswater wing at Lakeview Care Home in September. She passed away in the middle of December but in the short time she was at Lakeview I saw firsthand the patience, care and compassion she received, despite being a difficult customer. I am really grateful to the team for the care she received.
I was invited to and attended the Christmas party at Ullswater at Lakeview. The staff were fabulous throughout. Very welcoming and friendly and it was lovely to see the rapport they had with the residents. They made the meal, which was excellent, a very festive and joyful occasion and were caring and professional throughout. Thank you for inviting me and thank you for all the fabulous work that you do.
Staff are wonderful caring, treating people with dignity. The facilities and experiences for users are above and beyond. Would highly recommend to people.
Very good all around, very pleased with her care.
Mum is well looked after and cared for by staff. The food is good and Mum is happy and content.
My mom suffers from dementia but always has a smile on her face when staff come into the room. She loves spending time with her doll given to her by the staff, it's given her a sense of purpose.
Staff seem very caring and considerate. The housekeeping throughout the site is excellent. Like all care homes some residents have some level of dementia and this is wearing on residents who are fully aware, and regularly lose possessions taken by these people. Overall there is often not enough mobility aids like transit chairs to get residents to the dining room, in which case my dad's transit chair gets taken and used by staff moving other residents. Generally the food is to a fairly high standard, although the tea supplied is quite insipid and my father stopped drinking it.
The care given is professional, supportive, friendly and sympathetic. The patients come to view the staff as friends who try to stimulate them with various activities appropriate to their condition. The staff take into account patients' individual foibles and needs. Relatives are continually updated regarding the patients. Overall, a supportive experience, giving confidence in the care being received.
My father moved to Lakeview care home in May 2024. He's settled really well and the staff made us all feel welcomed. The home is bright and clean, and every effort has been made to make it feel like a home away from home. There are activities, such as gardening and crafts, and the food is amazing too! Staff work incredibly hard to ensure that Dad is happy, safe and treated with dignity. That's all you could ever want.
As a family we are very happy with the care our mum receives at Lakeview. The staff are very caring and they get to know the residents well. They are also friendly and supportive to our dad who visits daily. The unit manager is always very responsive to emails regarding any concerns or queries we have. We feel reassured when we leave her, as we know she is safe.
My husband has been at Lakeview for three months. The staff look after him well, they encourage him to eat and drink. When I visit they talk to him and also ask after myself. The staff are pleasant, and well presented too.
