View Full Details of Tudor House Care HomeI am very happy with the care my mum receives at the home. She is very settled and is starting to join in with activities more. The care, the staff show to Mum is really good. She is always clean and tidy as is the room and environment. When Mum needed to go to the hospital for a check-up the staff there said how good her skin care was.
A much improved care home which I would recommend.
Tudor House Care Home has greatly improved since the current manager has taken over. More activities in the last few months, something that had almost disappeared. My mom seems a lot happier in recent months as she had started to feel down with no activity interaction.
When Mom was discharged from hospital on end-of-life care, I wanted her to spend whatever time she had left at home. Due to factors outside of my control, this proved impossible. I was very apprehensive and upset at the prospect of looking at nursing homes for her. Choosing Tudor House proved to be the right decision. The manager, was more than happy to show us around, before we made the decision of which home to put our trust in, to look after Mom. We had a good feel about Tudor House after our visit; seeing the staff and having the manager answer our questions. Mom was only there 5 days before she died but she received the best of care. It was obvious the staff they employ are following their vocation in life rather than being there just "because it's a job." I cannot fault the professionalism, care and compassion shown to my mom. I thank all who were involved in my mom's care, and for doing everything possible to make her passing pain-free, comfortable and dignified.
My mum has been in Tudor House since February 2022. Her overall health and wellbeing has improved. The staff are friendly and approachable and Mum's needs are being met. Overall, Mum has settled in well and I feel happy and confident she is being well looked after.
My brother has lost a lot of weight since he has been at Tudor House. He suffered from gout and watches what he eats but they keep giving him food which is not the diet that he wants. He is over six feet tall and his diet is mostly baked beans and eggs so no wonder he has lost a lot of weight.
All the staff and management have been excellent and really welcoming to our aunt - they have made Tudor House really feel like it is her home. Thank you for all your hard work.
I was looking for palliative care for my mom. Having spoken to the deputy manager and having been allowed to visit and look around, I felt confident Mom would be in good hands. Any questions I had, or if I just wanted to discuss anything in the early days, I always felt I could approach the manager and she would always ensure that either she, or the nursing staff would do their very best to accommodate us. All aspects of covid safety were adhered to, at all times and the staff were very friendly and caring both to my mom and myself, especially on days where it was harder to deal with Mom's condition. Sadly Mom was only here 7 weeks, before she passed away, but her final days were made as comfortable as possible and I thank the staff for that, especially the manager, who went our of her way to help Mom adjust and cope with her situation. Thank you all.
We recently needed urgent palliative/end of life nursing care for my 94-year-old Dad. After some research, I phoned Tudor House. A member of staff took the time to listen and understand our needs and, even on a bank holiday weekend, offered to contact the off-duty home manager. Within 10 minutes, the manager called, agreed that Tudor House could accommodate Dad at short notice and talked me through what they could offer. He was incredibly kind, generous with his time and supportive, and I instantly felt we had found the right place. Everyone made a fuss of Dad and put him at ease. As it was end-of-life care, we were able to visit under strict COVID-19 controls and were looked after by kind, cheerful and supportive staff every time. Dad's bedsores eased, and he was noticeably more comfortable. When the end came, he was treated respectfully, and again, the staff rallied around to support us. I would not hesitate in recommending Tudor House to anyone else in similar circumstances.
Mum is the proudest, most independent person you could possibly meet so when she fell ill and was no longer able to look after herself it was going to be a challenge to find an establishment that would suit her needs. From the moment I met the manager, I got the sense that mum would be in good hands here and that has proven to be true. The staff all know the residents and you can tell. Whilst mum has had a couple of days where she is a bit lost and didn't understand where she was, compounded by the COVID situation there are signs in the wall of her room explaining where she is and where the family are in relation to her, she has settled very quickly and hasn't been distressed. Whenever I have had an issue with getting mum on her mobile (old people and technology don't mix) I've been able to call the home and they have sorted it. Both in the management team have been excellent and I can only recommend Tudor House in good terms.
My great nan spent the last few weeks of her life with Tudor house. They helped her with her day to day needs. I am so grateful for the help and support they offered her during her final moments. Thank you.
The staff are very dedicated and caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. My husband and myself were made very welcome each time we visited and knew that if we had any questions they would be answered. Very happy with the care given.
I have found this home caring and helpful. Always keeping me in touch with my Mother. Her needs are met even when they seem a little strange. The staff do their best to keep her calm and comfortable, some going out of their way to help.
When we first visited the home we had a good feeling about it. There was a good atmosphere. Everyone was friendly but not ‘over-so’! We are pleased that my mother-in-law quickly settled in as she did not want to go into a home. The care seems very good and everybody is helpful. We like the idea of the FaceBook page. I would like to see tablets or laptops available for supervised use by the residents. Our children and grandchildren live a long way away (as do we) and this way she could see them which she loved when we had ours with her.
When visiting my aunt resident in Tudor House, I am always impressed by the caring attitude of the staff, towards her. Nothing seems too much trouble, whether it be making sure that she eats and drinks regularly, to having a laugh at some little happening.
My aunt has been a resident of Tudor House for many years. We have had a few minor issues throughout this time but these have always been resolved, and I find the current management and staff very helpful. I have been very impressed with the commitment of the senior carer and the team to ensure the safety and well-being of their residents during the current Coronavirus pandemic, and also the thought was given to relatives by setting up the social media group page, telephone calls etc to aid communication at this time. A big thank you and well done to all of you.
I was looking for a care home to provide help and support for my uncle when he was due to be discharged from hospital. The NHS were offering a very basic care package in his own home which I felt, given his age and frailty, placed him in a very dangerous situation. After contacting a few care homes near his home the response I got from the Tudor House manager was fantastic. She shared my concern, she went the extra mile in dealing with a very uncooperative discharge team at the hospital. She and the staff made him very welcome and gave him the best possible care whilst he was with them.
Dad has been with you just over a month and we did not get off to a very good start. We were misled in a way as to how the care package would be run. We feel as a family that we have been ignored when we ask for certain procedures to be carried out. We have also had to make comments on a couple of staff members attitude, in and around Dad and other residents.
My auntie has settled in well and is being looked after very well. The staff are friendly and helpful.
