View Full Details of Silverdale Nursing HomeMy mum moved here December 22 after numerous falls at another home. What can I say; this home is fantastic, Mum's needs have been met from day one, and the staff can't do enough for her. We are treated as part of the home; you're made to feel it's their home (not a nursing home). There is plenty of activities available, lots of different varieties. The meals are all home-cooked. The manager doesn’t have an appointment system to see her, you simply drop in if you need to chat about anything; she is always available (which I like). You are kept informed of any doctor's appointments or any changes. I’m honestly yet to find a bad word. The outside doesn’t look much, but my goodness, the care is second to none. I only wish Mum had come sooner, seeing her happy and doing well is an absolute credit to the home. I wholeheartedly recommend it without hesitation.
Wow, what a difference the place has become, looking beyond the exterior, the new manager has made a difference, weekly messages to the relatives, improved staffing levels and cares. My nana, a resident, looks really well. I heard the manager appealing for help to get the outside looking better. I wish her and her staff well. The requests I’ve made have been dealt with in a timely manner, and my questions answered. I can now leave the home knowing my nana is being cared for.
My grandad was a resident at Silverdale nursing home and we cannot thank all the staff enough for the care they gave to my grandad. The respect and dignity they gave to him was outstanding. All the staff were amazing, friendly, informative and we genuinely felt like they cared for my grandad the way they would care for their own grandparents. The residents in the home all seemed happy and well cared for and they took the time to talk, listen and put together plans specifically for my grandad. The home was well presented inside, clean and a wonderful Christmas atmosphere for all the residents. The home manager and all her staff should all be very proud. I would definitely recommend Silverdale to my loved ones.
I would like to pass on to all the staff my thanks for the way they looked after my sister-in-law. They took care of her every need without judgement or complaint and I cannot congratulate them enough. Although I know it is their job, they went above and beyond in the care and concern they gave my sister-in-law once again many thanks.
I have been extremely surprised, touched and comforted during the heartbreaking experience of having to have my very precious, very poorly Mum move into full-time care thanks to the wonderful staff of Silverdale. After 6 months of very challenging behaviour from my Mum they have persisted with care, dignity, nursing expertise, and so much kindness until they have managed to make her feel more settled. She has always been clean, well fed (constantly offered choices when she declines food), supported to eat with endless patience, offered kindness and affection, and been spoken to and reassured constantly. The environment is always spotlessly clean and so are all the people that live there. Everyone is treated with dignity and respect and staff respond really well when residents ask for their support. I cannot praise all the staff and manager enough. Their kindness and patience know no bounds. We feel lucky that Mum has found somewhere where she can be supported by such amazing people.
In the 2 and a half years that mum has been in Silverdale, she has been extremely well cared for. Whenever the home has had any health concerns they have called to tell me that the doctor would see mum on his weekly call. Mum is always kept spotlessly clean and tidy with regular haircuts and nails polished. Her clothes are always nicely washed and these things help her to maintain dignity. The whole home is kept very clean and there are many activities provided for the clients aimed at all ranges of ability and interest. The most striking thing you notice about this home is the carers. They really do live up to the name of carers, treating each resident with a compassion and respect that I've only rarely seen in other facilities. Many of them are long-term employees, who have a real affection for the home and the residents. This shows in all sorts of ways from how they interact with the clients to how they turn up to support events even when off duty.
Feel very satisfied that Mum is well looked after, comfortable and cared for. We have regular contact via phone and e-mail from the home and someone is always available to speak with whenever we call or telephone.
My wife has been in the above care home since April 2014. She is still there and as I go to see her at least 3/4 times a week, I can observe the care that the staff give to their patients. It is quite satisfying to see that the staff do care and with a little bit of tenderness in their approach to the patients all is calmed down. Very nice to see.
