View Full Details of Springbank Nursing HomeMy mum moved into Springbank Nursing Home in January 2020, as she needed nursing and dementia care. A thorough care and risk assessment identified her needs, which helped Mum to quickly settle into her new home. Unfortunately, two months later, Covid was spreading throughout the UK and this presented many challenges and was a very difficult time for staff, residents, and families. However, staff worked tirelessly, with care and compassion, to keep my mum safe. They provided excellent, person-centred care, catering to her individual needs and keeping me informed. I can't praise the staff enough, not only for the care they afforded Mum but also for the support they gave to me. It has been of great comfort to know that she has been well cared for over the past five years, until her recent passing and I am so appreciative of the wonderful staff and the provision of the warm and friendly environment in which she lived.
Dad has been a resident at Springbank since September 2023, he was placed there after 7 weeks in hospital, he was in a very poor state and not expected to be around for Christmas, but miraculously he is still with us and doing amazingly well thanks to the wonderful care he has received from the staff at this lovely home. That's exactly what it is, a home-from-home, caring, and compassionate staff helps everyone get the best they can out of life. Family and friends are welcome at all times and encouraged to join in activities or just have a cuppa and a chat. First-rate care and a lovely social atmosphere what more do you need to help you feel good about your elderly parent being in a home?
My dad had been in hospital for 2 weeks after a fall at his previous care home. It became apparent that Dad needed 24-hour nursing care. I had a very small window of time to find a nursing home for Dad before his discharge from the hospital. The Discharge Nurse in the hospital said that Springbank was very good. Two members of staff were simply amazing in arranging the move. One staff member came in her own time to help Dad settle in on his first day, something that I will be forever grateful for. The care and compassion of all of the staff shine through in all that they do. Previously Dad had been refusing food but with all of the care he has received at Springbank his eating has greatly improved and they are making tentative steps towards helping him be comfortable with other residents and greatly considering his emotional needs. Overall I could not be happier with Dad's progress and I couldn't ask for more from all of the wonderful staff. Thank you so much.
Well where do I begin, My mother-in-law was moved into this home after spending 4 weeks in hospital after a traumatic accident in another care home. From the moment she arrived to now, she has been looked after amazingly. All the carers, management and activities coordinator are the most caring compassionate kind people we have ever met in a care home. We are a very close family and we visit my mother-in-law every day sometimes twice a day and the staff cannot do enough for us when we arrive, from making us a drink to offering us lunch. Nothing is too much trouble for them and everything appears person-centred by this I mean every individual in there is cared for equally. In the space of one week, Springbank has outshined every care home we have ever been in and also they have put on outside entertainment for all the residents twice in one week. I highly recommend this care home they are absolutely brilliant, we are very happy that my mother-in-law has now settled and is happy.
Back in April Mum was taken into the hospital seriously ill and a dementia sufferer. The Palliative Care team were extremely helpful and found Mum a care home that was easier for me to get to. The home is lovely, Mum had a wonderful view, I had to appreciate it fully on her behalf. Mum's room was smashing - clean, warm with its own TV. She wanted for nothing and even though Mum was eating or drinking very little I could see the food was delicious. I wish I'd been up to eating some. I was always offered lunch at the home. The staff are wonderful and caring not just for the residents but also the relatives. They were always helpful to me. Mum passed away today, the staff were wonderful. They were totally appreciative of the distress the loss of my mum caused me and her departure was treated with tact care and maintenance of her privacy to the last. If I ever have to be looked after by others I hope the people are as good to me as the staff at Springbank were to my mum.
My mother spent her final months in the exemplary, loving care of Springbank having moved there after her previous home could no longer meet her needs; after witnessing the wonderful care my mother-in-law was receiving, I knew I wanted Mum to be cared for at Springbank. When Mum required end of life care, staff kept us regularly informed, and the support and comfort they gave to both Mum and family was exceptional. Although we were unfortunately unable to be with Mum when she passed away, it was a huge comfort that carers who genuinely loved her were with her until the end. Springbank is a wonderful home with the kindest, most caring and compassionate staff who treat residents and relatives like family members, and to whom we are absolutely indebted; during the dark times of witnessing two loved ones succumbing to dementia, Springbank was the shining light which got us through. We could not have asked for better care for our relatives, and we cannot recommend Springbank highly enough.
My husband is currently having respite at Springbank. I am so impressed with the care being provided. Staff are very caring, pleasant and concerned to make my husband as comfortable as possible. The food is excellent and drinks and meals are all monitored to ensure residents are nourished and hydrated. There are activities to be involved in to encourage meeting others and to stimulate and entertain. My husbands hopes to be back home soon, but wants to return as he says he will miss all the staff who have been looking after him. Says it all.
My mother spent her final year at Springbank after her previous home could no longer meet her needs. Springbank stood out for all the right reasons - we felt assured that they had everything in hand, and the transfer was smooth. Springbank’s dual-registered status enables them to provide residential and nursing care - avoiding the need to move homes as needs change. There are always plenty of friendly, approachable, professional staff. They are completely transparent, proactively update and involve you, and quickly and efficiently answer any questions. Visits are welcomed at any time. The home is spotlessly clean, the food looks delicious, and various activities are offered. The staff genuinely care for residents and relatives, treating them as part of their family (my mother’s end-of-life care was incredibly moving to witness). Compassion, kindness, patience, transparency, professionalism and dignity are at the heart of Springbank's ethos, and we could not have asked for better care.
They are looking after Mum very well, I think everything is excellent. We are very pleased with everything that you have done since my mum came here. Thank you.
The care, love and attention shown to Nan was faultless. The staff made a difficult time easier to navigate and bear. The home has a warm atmosphere and all of our family has felt welcome when visiting, nothing has been too much trouble. Springbank may need a lick of paint, but that facade is no way a representation of the home and care given. We would highly recommend Springbank.
The sign on the entrance door sets out Spring Bank's mission to create a family setting. Nothing could be more true: since Dad moved here three months ago I really do feel like I have a 'Spring Bank family'. Without exception all of the staff are truly amazing and make great efforts to make you feel included within a warm and caring environment.
The home is run very efficiently with staff who are friendly, caring, and above all, communicate with the residents, whatever their difficulties. It is obvious that the resident's needs are of paramount importance.
We looked at a few places for our mum and Springbank Nursing Home stood out by a mile. There's a lovely warm atmosphere here and our mum and us have been made really welcome. All the staff take a lot of time with the residents and they're always smiling and patient. They're also very professional. Nothing is hidden here. You can visit when you like and everyone makes us feel so welcome. The food is lovely and varied, we're invited to stay to lunch with mum whenever we pitch up at that time. We saw other care homes that looked nice on the outside but had dull and depressing atmospheres, or they had separate areas for visiting. Springbank hides nothing. They're so open and transparent that you feel really confident that your loved ones are being really well looked after here. Highly recommend this place.
I cannot praise Springbank Nursing Home highly enough. My mum went there for end of life care and the treatment she received was the very best I could have wished for, the staff looked after her like she was their own mother, she was cared for with love and dignity. All the staff are happy and cheerful and nothing is too much trouble. Ten out of ten on every level. I feel I've made friends for life.
My mum spent her last few weeks here, she was settled and very comfortable. All the staff are loving and caring; they looked after us all too. I would highly recommend Springbank; thank you for everything that you’ve done for our mum and us.
Springbank Nursing Home delivered wonderful care to our mum over the last six months. They cared for her and kept her safe when we couldn't. The whole family are so grateful for what all staff did for Mum during her time with them. Thank you all of you.
Whilst the last year has been extremely demanding for everyone, for us as a family to find the right place for our Mum/Nana to live was difficult to make in a matter of hours. We did some investigating into the nursing care that was available at the time and decided that Springbank was the most suitable home (after reading reports and some local knowledge). Mum joined Springbank in April 2020. Obviously, with restrictions, there were questions that needed answering, but the staff were always keen for us to be kept up to date. We realise that the team were helping our Mum to become more involved with the “Springbank family”. All the staff have their own families and problems, but whenever they were in touch, it was respectful and cheery, which you could see on Mum’s face. Sadly, Mum passed away. In her words, The staff are all marvellous. This from a lady who didn’t suffer fools. Thank you all for the exceptional care given to our mum. Love to all.
My close friend has been a resident at Springbank since January 2019, over the last 6 months I have fully realised how good this place is. She feels safe, or anytime she needs reassurance the manager herself and staff are on hand to offer support. The equipment used in the home is second to none, in fact, it minimises the need to being transferred thus enhancing the resident’s daily comfort. The home is clean, tidy and staff /nurses seem experienced and they care. The home also offers a great array of entertainment, there seems to be something for everyone. There are daily exercises, news headlines discussed and explained, prayer, singers, there are regular social events depending on what time of year or what going on, surroundings are changed to reinforce the topic. The home also liaises closely with another local home where residents from there join the social events here, building links and friendships for both sets of residents. I could definitely recommend.
My mum was lucky to spend two and a half years as part of the Springbank family as she battled with her dementia journey. Earlier this year she became really poorly and her end of life care plan was activated. The care and support given to her were second to none. Supporting all the individuals in your care and maintaining and improving well-being was demonstrated on a daily basis as I sat with my mum during the last four weeks of her life. You constantly went the extra mile as you treated my mum like she was an important member of your own family. Truly caring for her as the unique lady that she was. You always remembered that you worked in her home rather than her living in your workplace. So..... Thank you for keeping my mum safe, for caring and respecting her wishes and decisions. Thank you for listening to my comments and concerns and responding in a positive way, those effective little changes meant so much to us as a family, and thank you to senior staff for leading by example. Your leadership promoted dignity and good care practice for all.
