My aunt was a resident here for over 4 years and passed away recently. Under the helm of the manager and deputy manager she was cared for with love and respect. Every member of staff is part of a jigsaw puzzle there which fits without a piece missing. This includes management, nurses, care assistants, activity coordinators, laundry, housekeeping, the two lovely staff members in administration, the Chaplain, and the head chef and his team in the kitchen department. My aunt was always clean, well looked after, and certainly enjoyed the nourishing, tasty food she was served. When staff approached her, her eyes lit up and she loved them, a response that can't be faked with dementia. Be proud Weston House of the difference you make, in what is probably the worst time in anyone's life if they sadly succumb to Alzheimer's Disease/Dementia. And always be aware of the impact of acts of love and kindness towards residents and their families has on them. God bless.
My dad has been a resident here since early 2023, placed after a hospital stay and exhibiting some challenging behaviours relating to his condition. From the beginning, it was clear that we had chosen the right place for him as he has always been treated with kindness, respect and dignity by all staff there. Initially, we were slightly concerned by the high number of agency staff coming and going but, having settled since the pandemic years, this has now stabilised and we feel happy knowing that all staff involved in his care know his needs. The home is very welcoming to family members and in our experience, communication is good. It is clear that staff are expected to work to a high standard, and they certainly do. Now that he is beginning to experience more physical issues relating to his conditions and the corresponding decline and loss of mobility, the nursing staff are quick to respond and to refer to external agencies where needed and we are kept very much up to date. Would recommend!
My father went to live at Weston House on 28th June 2024 after moving from his previous care home where he had been for 8 years. I can't express how lovely everyone at Weston House has been, from going to view the home beforehand to now. The carers are all really lovely and you can tell how much they care about their residents. I would 100% recommend this home to anyone needing to place a loved one in care.
Weston House (MHA) has helped my mother to settle into her new surroundings with care and compassion and put in place the structures to help her adjust during a period of great personal trauma - at the same time as the country was suffering the worst periods of the pandemic. Mum has gone on to thrive - and that's in no small part down to the team. I'm very grateful.
My dad is a resident within this care home. Firstly this home is amazing it is clean and presented perfectly. The care is above and beyond and my dad has been well looked after and has settled very well. The staff are first-class carers. Communication with family is amazing and from the moment we got to see my dad in the home we finally felt at ease. It really is like walking into a family and welcoming. So a big thank you to all that work within the home for continued care for my dad and your excellent work. You have made us all so happy as his family. I don't think any care home could ever top the good work you do for all your residents.
My mother has been a resident for four years. She is very happy and contented at Weston House. The staff are very caring and friendly, making the setting feel like a home for residents and their families. They treat everyone with respect and understanding. And cater for individuals' needs. Weston is clean, spacious and friendly with a good variety of food on the menu, which is always good quality. The management and nursing staff are very approachable and caring.
I feel that Weston House needs improvement with the nursing care, better communication, continuity of care more constant staff. They need to seek G.P guidance for a better outcome for residents. Weston House is understaffed considering it is a home for residents with Dementia who need more help as their conditions worsen. I feel Weston House need to offer more interaction with residents not just left sitting on their own.
My mum has been a resident at Weston House for almost 2 years. The care that my mum receives at Weston House is second to none. All of the staff are thoughtful and kind and I have always been made to feel very welcome. I am contacted regularly to discuss mum's care. Mum has received music therapy and there are often organised events and activities which the staff put so much effort into. My Dad was also previously a resident and used to love the organised visit of the ice cream van. I would not hesitate to recommend Weston House.
My husband has been a resident for over 2 years. The care and compassion of the staff is exemplary. Even during these challenging times, I have peace of mind knowing he is well cared for. The manager is kind and approachable and staff follow her lead. He benefits from the excellent music therapy that helps to keep him connected when his verbal skills have failed. If he can't be at home with me this is the next best place. Thank you.
My mum moved to Weston House, in February, from another care home. From the initial enquiry, we have been so impressed, nothing is too much trouble and we have been kept informed and supported every step of the way. The most important thing to us is Mum's happiness. If I could show pictures of the difference that even just five weeks has made with mum, it would show anyone how this home cares for their residents. Mum's whole persona has changed and she is truly contented, happy and loved. The relief a family can feel when their loved one is being cared for in this way is worth its weight in gold.
We moved Mum to Weston House a few weeks ago and we have been delighted with the support we have received and the care for Mum. We were very concerned about moving Mum during the current situation but the manager was honest, helpful and reassuring during the whole process. Each time we have contacted the home, we have spoken to different staff, all of whom can talk to us about how Mum is settling or will quickly find someone to answers our questions. Staff quickly got to know Mum and understood her situation. We have been sent photos and had regular video calls. Mum looks settled, bright, warm and she looks to have put on weight. We are just so delighted for Mum that she is surrounded by loving, caring people who want to make her life fulfilling. Thank you to all the staff.
My dad has been at Weston House for nearly 3 years. This last few months have been difficult for the family, the residents and the care staff. I can honestly say that the care they have given whilst family and friends have not been able to visit has been above and beyond. I know my dad is looked after, loved and safe, and it’s all down to the hard work of the staff, and the 121 carers he has who take care of him... thank you so much.
Mum has been cared for exceptionally well since she arrived at Weston House 18 months ago. It has been so difficult being unable to visit her during the pandemic but I have spoken to her and video called her with the help of the staff. She is always clean, and the home is spotless, activities are plentiful and the staff genuinely care for the residents. I am so glad we found this home, Mum was elsewhere before and none of the homes came close to the provision of care that she now receives.
My wife has only been a resident for four weeks, but my first impression of Weston House is good. The management runs a well-disciplined, efficient care home to a high standard. The staff look after the residents needs to a professional standard and also show friendship to the residents.
Weston House is a lovely, safe, warm and welcoming home for anyone with dementia. The care and support, my mum gets is fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. The staff from all levels are genuine and thoughtful to all residents and their families.
The overall standard provided by Weston House is excellent. The nursing home has a lovely family orientate atmosphere where you feel that your relative is being given the best possible care in a caring environment. The staff all work so hard to achieve such high standards whilst maintaining a friendly, homely environment.
What can I say? Weston House is the best! Home from home is really what this place is. Mom has dementia but she is always saying "it's lovely here you know". The staff really are faultless. They are 100% professional. Nothing is too much trouble 100% discreet. Food is exceptionally good. One of the staff even gave up her day off so mom could attend a family party. Love, love, love Weston House. Thanks for being here.
No-one wants their mother to have dementia and go into care but the atmosphere, care and affection for my mum is like home from home. She moved here in July and she was made very welcome. She is very well looked after, respected, loved, is part of a large family and nothing is too much trouble. Visitors are made to feel very welcome as well. Christmas has been lovely, from the activities and carol concerts to the decorations and Christmas Day lunch. Long may it continue to provide this high standard of care when so often you hear bad reports at other homes.
Western House is beyond my expectations - excellent in every aspect. My husband is content in every way and accepts the constant and everyday devoted care.
My experience of Weston House overall has been very good. The staff are extremely caring and try to meet the needs of my relative. I visit around 4/5 times per week and am always made to feel welcome. The home itself is very clean. The food is of a high standard and presented very attractively.
