View Full Details of Westfield Lodge Care HomeThe care given to Mum is second to none. All the staff are amazing. The way they treat not only Mum by us as a family is lovely. We feel part of a family and are treated as part of one big family at Westfield. We are welcomed with open arms as family. The atmosphere in the home is one filled with laughter. There is always some activity or entertainment happening. They have given Mum a new lease of life and we are 100% certain that without them Mum wouldn't be here.
My husband had dementia and was in end of life care, he was treated with respect and great kindness even when he threw things, they were great with him, and tried to give him the best life he could have in the time he was with them. Their kindness was also extended to me and my family, on his death they were so good to us and explained what had to happen next. My husband had an aneurysm which burst.
Since my mum has been a resident at Westfield Lodge Care Home her quality of life has immensely improved! I feel this is down to all the staff including the amazing manager, office staff, nursing staff, the actual care staff, activity staff, cleaning, housekeeping staff and the quality of food is 'outstanding' due to all the kitchen staff, the maintenance guy is always on hand. All of these wonderful people have made me and my family a part of the Westfield family, which has made a great home for my mum's continuing care and put a huge smile on her face - A huge thank you to all.
When our mum could no longer safely live on her own at home looking for a suitable care was a minefield, we finally settled on Westfield Lodge as we agreed that this seemed the one. We couldn't be more happier with the care that our mum receives 24/7, we can relax when not with her as we know that she's getting all the care and attention that she needs. As well as being excellent carers for the residents they have also become our friends who we visit just as much as our mum. Westfield don't just provide care but they also keep the residents and families entertained on visits everyday, with the resident activity coordinator providing fun, games and booking visiting singers and entertainers etc. We couldn't have wished for a better place to call home for our mum who has gained more friends than ever and we have to. No one wants to see their family members go into a nursing home but Westfield Lodge makes it all that much easier. The staff at Westfield lodge are worth their weight in gold.
My thought on Westfield Lodge is excellent service, very friendly, outgoing staff, nothing too much trouble if you ask for anything, the food is excellent, and the place is spotlessly clean. The home is run by a friendly, hardworking person who is dedicated to her job. My mum is very happy in there, settled down well, so I feel happy because I know Mum is being well cared for. Nursing excellent. Excellent service. Well recommended.
My mother-in-law has lived at Westfield Lodge for almost 12 months now, I can honestly say that the care she receives is second to none, after coming to Westfield Lodge from a temporary assessment care home, I cannot believe the difference this has made to her, she is clean and well nourished, her clothes are always clean and she is well presented, she has her hair done every week by a professional hairdresser, she has her nails painted, they have daily activities for all the residents to participate should they wish to. She has had no falls, no broken bones and she seems very happy and content. The manager as well as another staff member and most of the staff are amazing, we as a family are in no doubt that our loved one is receiving the best care possible and at 93 years old, this is exactly what she should have. I would 100% recommend Westfield Lodge.
My deepest thanks go to all the staff of Westfield Lodge Care Home. My mum was only here for just over a month and sadly passed away. I only wish she was still with us to enjoy the care and commitment and entertainment from the home. When we went to visit to look round for a home for my mum this home is 5 minutes from my home, I was determined not to let this sway me with my decision and that I would come away and think about it. I was hooked from the moment I walked in it was like home from home and I knew it was right for her and her needs. The staff really couldn't do enough and it was a case of the old saying 'jump' and the staff asking how high and never having to ask twice as any requests were dealt with there and then. When sadly the ambulance got called to my mum as they were leaving there must have been 8 staff waiting outside her room to see she was okay. If that is not commitment and care then what is? Thank you to all.
My mum was in the home for six months before she passed away. She was given excellent care during that time. End-of-life care was delivered with compassion. The care staff were excellent in looking after her.
Mum was admitted on Saturday the 26th of October and was immediately treated with the utmost care, dignity and love. Her stay was short, just over a week but I would like to praise the manager and all their staff for their professionalism and dedication. Westfield Lodge Care Home has a wonderful atmosphere and we are very thankful Mum spent her final days there.
I would sincerely like to say a big thank you to everyone at Westfield Lodge Care Home for their care and support to both my husband and myself, during his time there. Everyone was so friendly and there was always a laugh to be had. My husband enjoyed taking part in the activities - especially the day trips out. The Activities Co-ordinator goes above and beyond to ensure that the residents are kept entertained and to keep their minds active. The Care Staff are exceptional - nothing is too much trouble. The Kitchen Staff always provided excellent quality meals. The Manager plays a big part in ensuring that Westfield Lodge makes the residents and family members feel like part of a 'Family'.
On the first visit to view the home, we felt comfortable that this would be the best environment for him. He was treated with the utmost respect and the care was very good. The staff were very kind and always had a word with him and smiles were readily available. He was at Westfield for 14 months and he was very settled there. He certainly enjoyed all the entertainment and a big thank you to Sharon for organising this. Family members were always made welcome and for special occasions such as birthdays there was always a cake and birthday celebrations.
The care that my mother has received in the last 21 months has been second to none, she was treated with dignity and respect throughout, and the staff turn up with a smile each and every day there will never be enough words to thank them. My mum loved to share a laugh with them and they would always try and turn a bad day for her into a good day, Westfield Lodge is like an extended family I would encourage anyone who may be looking for care for their loved one to consider this lovely home.
It's very difficult to put into words the love and care that Westfield Lodge showed my mum. They treated her with dignity and respect. My mum was at Westfield Lodge for 2 years and the compassion and dedication shown by the staff at all times was very touching. The end-of-life care my mum received was excellent. Mum was kept comfortable at all times and the family were given privacy and the staff were there both for the family and for my mum. Westfield Lodge is in a league of its own. The staff are always smiling and will always make time to keep families up to date with the care their loved ones care they are receiving.
We would like you to be aware of the care our mother, who recently passed away, received at Westfield Lodge Care Home. Our mother had dementia/Alzheimer's. The care was exemplary, all staff were outstanding, showing consideration, compassion and respect. They all showed, including management, genuine love and care toward her. Always including our mother in all activities. Kitchen staff and food were outstanding, catering for all special dietary needs, yet the presentation went way beyond.
The staff at Westfield Lodge continue to give professional and caring support, taking into account the specific needs of each resident. Rooms and social areas are always clean and homely. Staff are so friendly and communicate with such awareness of need, kindness and a sense of humour with residents who can be difficult sometimes. The patience shown to my husband's uncle is outstanding. The choice of food cooked on site is remarkable and individual needs are respected and noted. Nursing staff are immediately attentive if difficulties arise and the role of a designated activities co-ordinator means that there are events and activities to support resident's interests. Thank you to all the staff at Westfield Lodge, keep up the good work!
Westfield Lodge staff treated my grandmother with the utmost care and ensured that she maintained her dignity right up to her passing. Whilst staff waited for us to arrive, they held her hand so that she knew that she wasn’t alone, which we will forever be in their debt for. The compassion shown, in the 5 years that my grandmother was a resident, was second to none. The manager really does care and leads her staff by example. We will always be grateful that our nan was also loved by her Westfield family.
My mum has been a resident of Westfield Lodge for the past 5 years, coming to them after a severe stroke which paralysed her and reliant on being peg-fed. Her prognosis was that she would more than likely only survive 12 months. Over the past 5 years, she has faced many medical challenges which could very easily have ended her life, but I truly believe that the care and dedication of the staff at Westfield Lodge gave our family those extra years with Mum. I have lost my mum today but I have also left a family of caring people behind.
My friend was quite a difficult person and all the staff cared for her with tolerance, patience, understanding and with lots of kindness. Whatever she got up to it never phased them. They tried to encourage her to join in with any activities and we were sent photos of her enjoying some of these.
I had viewed other homes locally, and within minutes of visiting Westfield, I knew it was the right place. I moved my uncle from a care home (in London) to be nearer to me/family as his health declined. He spent nine happy months being very well cared for by a great team of hardworking staff. They always went the extra mile to genuinely care for my uncle, and he quickly settled in and I saw him become less withdrawn and appeared much happier. The staff took time to talk to him as well as have fun with him, which he really enjoyed. During his stay, he felt very much at home, and he obviously enjoyed his time here. Also, the staff put much more effort into getting him up and socialising with others rather than letting him dwell in his room. This daily contact and integration definitely made him more alert and bright than he had been previously. He also enjoyed the home-cooked food and oatcakes. I'm really happy I found Westfield, and they did a great job looking after my uncle - thank you!
Each and every member of staff was exemplary. They showed compassion to my friend at all times and were very patient and kind, even when things were challenging for them. It was a very difficult time in my friend's life but I always felt confident that she was receiving the best possible care and she was treated with great dignity. Activities were provided but not often taken advantage of by my friend, but that was her choice. I too was always made to feel welcome when I visited and was kept informed about any changes in treatment which were needed.
