View Full Details of The Haven Nursing HomeThe staff, carers and nurses all made mom's stay as comfortable and pain free as possible. Thank you all. They kept us updated all the time. We found the care home clean and all staff friendly. Thank you again.
We were so lucky to have been granted this place for our 94-year-old mother to be cared for until her last day. This is a nursing home that really cares. From the first day admitted she was made welcome and her one-to-one carer was a blessing. She made her feel safe, fed her, clothed her, washed and trusted in her. The whole team were great - nothing too much trouble, attentive and always a carer or nurse at hand. The place is kept clean and tidy and always a variety of food is available. Lots of care provided to make sure Mum was comfortable, safe and checked on frequently. Absolutely a 5-star rating.
The staff were brilliant with my partner, meeting every need with compassion and professionalism. Nothing was too much trouble - they were always available, offering help at every turn. From the start, it was clear the team was dedicated not only to my partner but also to supporting the whole family. Their kindness and attention made a difficult time easier to bear. I'm incredibly grateful for their care and would highly recommend The Haven Nursing Home, Coventry.
Mum has been a resident of Haven care home for over 12 months. On her arrival at the home, we were all made very welcome and Mum settled in very well. The family have been kept up to date with Mum's health issues and welfare. The care team go the extra mile to make Mum comfortable and show genuine affection for her. The whole place is kept clean and tidy with recent refurbishment to much of the home. I'm very happy with Mum's environment and the care she receives. The management team also do a great job.
All the staff are helpful and pleasant. My Aunties needs are really looked after. It is lovely and clean. Her clothes are looked after well. The staff are helpful to me and always happy to listen. The staff have done all they can to help my Aunty.
My mum, who is 92, is very happy in this home. The staff are very very good, going beyond their brief to make life happy and meaningful for the residents. My mother loves the food and the various and regular entertainment that the home provides. I would recommend this home unreservedly for anyone considering a placement.
My mother was a resident for only a short while before her death. I cannot fault the care and attention given both to her and the family. As her health declined they anticipated her needs and the attention to detail was second to none. This is evidently a reflection of good leadership and management. I have not rated the activities section this was not relevant.
It is not an easy decision to place a loved one into a care home - but you can rest assured that The Haven is a lovely place to be when 'home' is no longer a safe place. As a relative, this is what you need to know and feel, to do the best in a given situation is all anyone can do. My Mum was a resident at The Haven - she moved from Residential Care in July 2022 because she needed Nursing / Dementia care. During the last 18 months or so she has been very well looked after, the quality of food, cleanliness, and nursing care have been excellent. Regular phone calls came from the staff to check if we were happy. Dementia residents can be 'difficult' to manage - but I always saw respect and understanding from all the staff I dealt with, and the environment was calm and supportive... The staff are all very kind, they have time for people and show genuine compassion. My mum passed away peacefully this week.
Mum was only a resident for a few weeks but in that time she made friends with other residents, had an afternoon tea, sang to records, played bingo, had her hair cut, nails painted and had normality to her life in a homely environment. The staff welcomed Mum and showed genuine care and compassion, they treated her with respect and dignity at a time when she was frightened, vulnerable and needed to feel safe and cared for. Mum's final days were peaceful and I was able to spend precious time with her with the staff looked after me as well as Mum, provided me with tea-making equipment, meals and hugs. Thank you for everybody for their care, support and kindness.
As a family, asking a care home to look after a relative is an emotional process. Ensuring care is given in a dignified and respectful way with compassion is what we wanted. The staff who cared for our father were so kind, caring and full of life. They very quickly got to know him and his needs. The care he received was dignified, respectful and compassionate. The end of life care was quietly beautiful, as a family we were so well cared for and supported, allowing us to be with our father, to be joined by a priest and parish sisters ensuring a prayerful end to his life. The care given was bespoke to his needs and his wishes. Thank -you to everyone who plays a part in running the home and offering care which is so finely tuned to the needs of individuals. Thank you for the 24-hour cups of tea, the reclining chair and the basket of toiletries which let us stay close by at the end. Thank- you for the knitted flower on the door that let people know precious final moments were being shared.
I have no worries of care for my sister-in-law while she has resided in The Haven Nursing Home. The care and cleanliness of the home have always been spot-on. Also when my sister-in-law ate normally, the food was good but for quite a while has had it pureed.
My dad was a resident at The Haven Nursing Home for just under two years. Dad entered the home during the lockdown of Covid in 2021. The manager at the home was so supportive during a difficult time for the family. This was even on top of extra Covid pressures they had to deal with. All the staff at The Haven are compassionate and always greet you with a smile! Truly fantastic people and Dad was looked after so well. We will be forever grateful.
My father has been in The Haven for eighteen months and was admitted from hospital during covid. It was a worrying time for us, wondering if he would settle in well given the situation at the time and extra demands on the staff. We needn’t have worried. From the outset, he was made to feel very welcome and soon became used to his nominated nurses. He has settled in extremely well and we are very confident that his health and mobility needs are met with care, compassion, kindness and professionalism. The home itself is always clean and tidy and fresh. It’s always very easy to speak to a member of staff with any queries or for updates we require and we are soon notified by staff of any changes in his condition and also included in any decisions that need to be made. We have every confidence in The Haven and cannot thank everyone enough for all they do for him.
I have found the staff at The Haven to be friendly and helpful to family members visiting a resident. I have also found the care staff to be kind and caring towards the residents. Would like to see a menu of food being provided.
Caring and sensitive care of elderly patients who have issues related to Dementia. I have 100% confidence in the care my mother is receiving. All my concerns are responded to in a reassuring and compassionate manner.
My brother has been at the Haven for 18 months. He has Down's Syndrome, is mentally disabled and has been diagnosed with dementia. He was admitted in January 2021 from Hospital, after contracting Covid 19. The staff have been wonderful in looking after his needs and making sure that he is as comfortable as can be expected. When his main carer comes into the room, he gives her a big smile, which is a sure sign that he feels happy there. This makes me feel reassured that my brother is in safe hands.
My mother had been in the Haven home for over 3 years and recently passed away. In all that time, I have never had any cause for concern for the way in which my mother was cared for. The staff and management have consistently been friendly and polite and have become more friends than just service providers. The standard of cleanliness and decoration has always been excellent and I feel confident that my mother was in a safe environment. I think the catering team are the unforgotten. I have been there on occasions at mealtimes and requested items and nothing was too much trouble. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone at the home for giving my mother a comfortable time at the home and to those who attended the funeral.
When my husband moved into the Haven, I was concerned that he wouldn't settle, but I needn't have worried. Right from the start, he was treated kindly and with compassion, and he soon changed from being constantly distressed and anxious to calm and content. I observed the way the staff treated other residents and only ever saw patience, kindness, and compassion. Even when visiting was restricted due to the Covid situation the office staff were always approachable by phone and happy to reassure me about my husband's health. I had been advised by his consultant that his condition would follow a pattern of a long slow decline but would then suddenly deteriorate and this is what happened and he spent a week on end-of-life care. I was able to stay at his side and the staff looked after me as well as caring for him. The care he received at The Haven was exemplary, I cannot fault it in any way, and can't thank all the staff enough for everything they did for him.
My husband was diagnosed with advanced dementia and was unresponsive. He was discharged from hospital to the Haven for continuing care. Within hours he was sitting up, talking and very responsive. I can't thank the manager and her team enough for bringing my husband back to me with their care, compassion and patience. The staff were always very accommodating when my husband was doing home visits. If we were late returning and missed meal times, it was never too much trouble to sort him something. Would I recommend the Haven Nursing Home? Yes without a doubt.
My mother was transferred to the Haven from a residential home, when they could no longer meet her dementia needs. She settled in very quickly. The staff made her feel very welcome. I found the staff to be very friendly, caring, helpful and professional at all times. The staff know their residents very well, knowing when they are ill. They look upon them as part of the family. My Mother got sepsis and recovered but this left her weak and frail. We were invited to plan her ‘end of life care’ with the manager, which we found to be invaluable when the time came. When 5 months later my mother deteriorated, the plan and wishes of the family were known and carried out accordingly. The manager and staff were excellent and very supportive and we were able to spend time with my mother at the end. We, as a family cannot thank the staff and management of the Haven enough for the excellent care which my Mother received and I would highly recommend the Haven to anyone looking for a home.
