View Full Details of Orton Manor Nursing HomeMy sister has been a resident/patient at Orton Manor Nursing Home since September 2024. My first impression when I first visited was that the surroundings were drab and dreary and I wondered what care she would receive after the terrible experiences encountered at a certain Hospital, where she was a patient for some 9 weeks. My concerns however were unfounded as the staff at the care home are amazing. They are professional, kind, caring and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and for that, I am truly grateful.
Despite all our concerns for our loved ones health and well being when he had to move care homes, the staff have made him feel so welcome and went over and above what was necessary to ensure that he settled, in well and felt at home with all his belongings around him when he moved in. He has settled in very well and is very happy with the home and the level of care that he receives. He rates the food as better than before, despite previously living at a much more exclusive residential home. The staff have made all the difference and we really can't fault them.
Rather apprehensive when I was first admitted residence in August 2024. But from day one I have received nothing but kind and attention from management, care staff, in fact all staff. I am so pleased with my social worker for the recommendation to Orton Manor Nursing Home, it is truly 5 stars in my estimation.
Nice friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, always helpful, offered a hot drink every time I visit and invited to Christmas lunch. I think they take care of my sister very well indeed.
I have only experienced the home whilst visiting my sister-in-law during the last week of November. I found the staff to be courteous, helpful and attentive. In the few hours I was there in the afternoons I found the staff were very attentive to my sister in laws needs regarding medicinal requirements I also believe that she finds the food offered to be of good quality. I found the security at the home to be excellent, needing the staff to admit you into the home and also to let you leave the premises including leaving your details in the visitor register.
My husband has been made to feel very welcome by all the staff. They are kind, caring and take into account the difficulties my husband has. He always looks clean and tidy and comfortable. It has taken my Husband a while to settle in with the staff's help, he is getting there. His room is always clean, tidy and warm. They also talk to him, not at him. They let him know what they are going to do to reassure him. The staff has also made me feel very welcome and if I have a query, I know I can ask without being made to feel a nuisance. I know that I can come home leaving my Husband at Orton Manor knowing he is safe and being well cared for.
My experience of the nursing home has been a positive one. They have been caring, kind and professional. Our relative has always looked happy, clean and comfortable. Her room was always clean and warm. Staff would pop in regularly and offer her a drink. Any queries were answered. She has just passed away, and the staff were wonderful to her in her final days and to the family, and the doctor made several visits too. A loving, caring community.
My mom was admitted to Orton Manor in July 2021 and was a resident there until her sad passing in January 2024. The care and attention that the staff gave not only to my mother but also to ourselves, particularly in the final moments prior to Mom's passing, was exemplary. It is true to say that not only are we grieving, but the staff are also. We can only thank the staff with all our hearts for the care and affection that they have shown. This has made our memories of Mom's illness that she has been going through for the last two years and her final moments less painful, for which we are eternally grateful.
All the staff are very friendly, always go above and beyond and can’t thank them enough. They all love my husband and I know he is in great hands. The staff always call me whenever he wants a chat. It’s close to home so I can see him anytime I want to which is great.
My mum was in Orton Manor Nursing Home from November 2021until she sadly passed away in February 2022. She originally went in for 2 weeks respite and loved it so much that she didn't want to go home. The staff at Orton Manor were amazing and treated her so well, like a member of their own family. Mum had had a care package at home for a few years but going into Orton Manor when she did was the best decision we could have made. She had excellent care, was treated with love and understanding and got her dignity back. Thank you to everyone at Orton Manor. I would recommend you to everyone.
Visited my Dad on Boxing Day 2021. Met with three staff who were outstanding. Their friendly approach to me, including the attention to COVID-19 restrictions, gave me reassurance about my dad's care. His room was clean and he looks very cared for, especially considering his age. I was offered coffee and the staff gave my father attention.
After both my parents found themselves requiring residential nursing care in 2020, I moved them both into Orton Manor and out from their first nursing home as I was extremely dissatisfied with their care there, but now I am very happy and extremely relieved to say they are finally both receiving the very best of care. All the staff in Orton Manor are truly caring, considerate and invest a part of themselves into the care they provide. I never worry about how my parents are being cared for because I can see they are both happy and feel a great deal of affection for the wonderful staff who do whatever they can to make sure they are comfortable and secure during these and the most difficult of times. In summary, I could not recommend this care home’s provision highly enough, and I am relieved that I finally found the standard of care my much-loved mom and dad deserve. Thank you, Orton Manor, for the peace of mind.
My mom had to be admitted as an emergency for two weeks respite. I had never had to do this before and was extremely overwhelmed and anxious about the whole situation. However, my mind was soon put at rest; she was very comfortable, clean and content. The staff were all very nice, cheerful and helpful. In a short time, they got to know her and her needs. I would like to thank everyone for their help and understanding. I hope I am not in the same situation again, but if I was, I would have no doubt in sending her to Orton Manor. Thank you.
The staff are absolutely wonderful. My mother is very poorly, but I am so relieved that she is at this home. She is so well looked after. I have complete faith in their experience, care and value their opinion. My mother is treated with pure kindness and respect. Thank you.
Both my Mom and now my Dad were/are in Orton Manor. The staff are always very welcoming and treat residents as friends. Nothing is too much trouble. It has been very hard during lockdown with not being able to visit but the staff have gone above and beyond to keep us updated and made video messages which have really helped put our minds at rest. I feel totally happy that my dad is being looked after and cared for whilst we can’t get to see him. They are really up to speed on his health conditions and spot them quickly when he isn’t well. My Dad tells me every time I speak to him I am really well looked after here you know. I can’t thank them enough for putting the residents first in what is a very challenging time for all the staff.
My mom went into the home 5 years ago in a very fragile state of mind and health but the care and attention she receives is second to none and she is now thriving. Before COVID I visited every day and no matter what time of day, everything was always the same with a constant feeling of being in a warm and caring environment. The staff, on the whole, seem to really care about the residents. Since COVID it has been hard not being able to visit but it is comforting to know she is being kept safe and looked after. I would highly recommend the home to anyone and very much appreciate the hard-working staff.
My mum has been a resident at Orton Manor for two and a half years now. She is 89-years-old, suffers with dementia and needs 24-hour-care. Since she has been at Orton Manor I have been immensely grateful for the compassion and care with which she has been treated. Physically she is well looked after in terms of food, drink, medication, help with showering and general hygiene matters but I also feel that she is treated with respect and dignity and that the staff make it a cheerful and welcoming place to be. Since the start of the pandemic they have been unable to allow the usual visits from family and friends but they have done their best to help me keep in touch with Mum via Facetime calls and generally keeping me up to date with the situation at the home. I feel that my mum is in a safe and caring place and I would not hesitate to recommend Orton Manor to others looking to find somewhere for loved ones in need of constant care.
The staff are extremely caring and efficient. I can find no fault and cannot think of a better care home to entrust the care of my much-loved mother.
Since covid19 and visits had to be suspended, the staff have done all they could to look after Mom and keep me informed about her. They have gone out of their way to prevent the virus from entering the home with great success, following all the guidelines. We are very grateful.
Since viewing and admission, staff and service have been excellent. Dignity maintained at all times. We've had no complaints, and any minor issues have been addressed expediently.
