Very happy with the care and support my partner received.
I had 2 weeks respite care after an operation. The peaceful rural setting helped my convalescence and my stay enabled me to regain more confidence and mobility in order to return home. All the staff were friendly and helpful. If I had stayed longer I would have enjoyed taking part in the outings offered. Many thanks to you all.
My aunt was with Thurlaston Meadows Care Home for 6 weeks, over that time we see a great improvement in her. She was eating well, which she hadn't been. The staff were so kind to her, and friendly. I do feel she would have been quite happy to have been a permanent resident.
My mother was very happy during her 12-month stay in Thurlaston Meadows Care Home, nothing was too much trouble for the staff who are compassionate and helpful at all times. Lots of activities were organised and a real effort was made to keep the residents motivated and to make their stay in the home safe and comfortable. Mum always looked very well presented and really enjoyed the delicious home-cooked food at the home. During my mother's final weeks in the care home before she passed away, the palliative care she received was uncompromising and gave us all the feeling she was being very well looked after and not alone. We can't thank all the management and staff enough for looking after Mum for the last year of her life, I know she was always very happy in Thurlaston Meadows throughout that time.
Since my aunt has returned into Thurlaston Meadows Care Home she has returned back to her previous pre-hospital self. Since the pandemic she has suffered badly healthwise, especially being in hospital for a good proportion of the last 12 months. Her newfound brightness and enjoyment of life again is incredible to see, this is purely down to her fantastic care at Thurlaston. In the last three weeks she has mixed more, joined in activities and actually been out on trips more than the whole of the last four years. The staff are amazing.
My mother is so happy and settled at Thurlaston and speaks very highly indeed of ALL the staff. We could not be more delighted with how well she has settled in and appreciate the outstanding care and support she is getting. Many thanks to all the staff, we hope they know how much their effort is appreciated by our Mother and the rest of the family. Thank you very much indeed.
I spent a week at Thurlaston Meadows recuperating from major surgery. It's in a small quiet village overlooking open countryside. My individual en suite room was pleasantly furnished and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the electrically operated rise and fall bed, new TV, adequate wardrobe space and comfortable chair with footstool. All staff were caring, helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. There seemed to be adequate numbers of staff at all times. I was very grateful that they were able to pick me up from the hospital in a vehicle equipped with ramps and a wheelchair on hand. There were several choices for each meal and portion sizes were generous. My only minor quibble was the very early dinner time (5-5:30) but can understand the challenges of serving so many people and that this tends to be normal practice in the care sector. Overall a satisfactory experience and I would highly recommend this place for anyone in similar circumstances.
Excellent service and caring. We really appreciate the kind and caring staff. Mum felt as if she was at home in Thurlaston Meadows. Thank you so much.
My mum was admitted to hospital with severe dehydration and was very poorly. Also, she has dementia. She went to Thurlaston on a discharge to assess for five weeks. The care she received was outstanding and turned Mum's life around. She was walking better, sleeping better - a totally different person and able to take part in activities during the day ie Bingo, quizzes and dominoes. All the staff made Mum feel very welcome and cared for and gave her a meaningful hug on departure. Thank you to everyone who helped Mum onto a better future.
When the time came for Mum to need full-time care, I felt happy leaving her in this home, with its lovely setting in the village. The staff were very caring and kept me informed about her welfare. Night staff were very patient with her, she was warm and comfortable. The home is not too big and the lounge has a very homely feel to it.
I am a volunteer driver and such am unable to fill in all the boxes below but the resident I pick up says they should all be marked excellent! The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. As my passenger is now in a wheelchair, there is always someone waiting to get the chair in and out of my car cheerfully! Considering putting my name down when my time comes!
I am writing this review as I feel that the staff and service providers at Thurlaston Meadows deserve recognition for the wonderful service that they provide. My brother and I were both sceptical about our father going into a care home and we had our reservations as to whether it was a good idea or not however when our father went into Thurlaston Meadows he was welcomed by all and treated with kindness and dignity in a warm clean friendly environment. The care staff should be recognised for their constant support they always tried to encourage our father to join in the many activities on offer many of which he enjoyed. Our father passed away in December and the staff continued to be helpful and support to us at a difficult time. I do not write reviews as a rule but in this instance, I am happy to do so.
My mother stayed at Thurlaston Meadows Care Home for 1 1/2 months after being hospitalised by a series of falls. We found the home to be clean, inviting and homely. I thought it seemed like a home rather than an institution, for example: friendly and welcoming. The staff are superb and could not help us enough. If I had to be critical I would have to mention the lift which is old and needs updating otherwise in our view Thurlaston Meadows is very good indeed.
My father-in-law was at Thurlaston Meadows for Rehabilitation Care from September to December 2023. During his time there he made many friends amongst the kind and caring staff, and enjoyed the variety of activities laid on, from crafts to musical entertainment. He was particularly complimentary about the quality and variety of the food. He was an exacting man with full cognitive awareness and strong views so he would have quickly raised any issues, of which there were none. I must especially thank the home manager and all the staff for their generous and loving support to both him and the rest of the family on the sudden death of his son during his stay there. We could not have asked for better care during his final days.
My dad spent three months in Thurlaston Meadows and was very comfortable and happy there. Unfortunately, he was quite poorly towards the end of his stay so did not join in with many activities. He was looking forward to returning after his last hospital stay but was unable to do so as he passed away.
Visiting the home weekly to see an elderly lady who was reluctant to leave her own home. It was easy for her to adjust to the care package and support she received at Thurlaston Meadows. The friendly and caring staff were second to none. As visitors, we were always made welcome! Activities and monthly magazine added to the enjoyment.
Thurlaston Meadows have taken exceptional care of my mother for many years. The entire team have been caring throughout, dedicated and sensitive and always with dignity. Even through COVID they maintained the highest standards. I'm so grateful to the team who did everything possible to make my mother as comfortable as possible during the late stages of her dementia. Thank you Thurston Meadows, I highly recommend your home to any potential residents.
An amazing home from home. The staff are all dedicated professionals that give excellent care to the residents and families of loved ones who stay at Thurlaston. We as a family always felt welcomed, respected and at ease, knowing that our loved one was having amazing care when we left them. From the carers, catering team, cleaners, receptionists, maintenance and management all staff knew each person individually. It is one big happy family.
The care staff are excellent with my aunt who after a hospital visit was unable to live independently at home. At 94, she is well looked after and the care home provides lots of activities to keep the residents occupied and their brains stimulated. Whilst my aunt would prefer to be at home, she comments on how good the food is and how she enjoys having her chats with the carers.
