View Full Details of Alexandra Care HomeExcellent teamwork - right across the care home. Always greeted with a smile and respect. As a family, we now know that we made the right decision to move my dear Mum here. We all can not be happier as a family.
For the short time my father-in-law was at Alexandra Care Home, he was treated with respect and care. The staff were friendly and welcoming when we visited. The difficult experience of end-of-life care was made so much easier by knowing he was being so well looked after.
Dad was at Alexandra for around 3 weeks until his death in early June. Before he even arrived the care home staff were working with staff at the Hospital and the continuing care team to get him there. They were always friendly and accommodating and clearly demonstrated their love, care and compassion for Dad throughout the time he was at the home. I cannot fault them.
Always welcoming when we visit Dad, and he's happy here even referring to it as a hotel, lots of activities daily themed-days, singers and entertainers. Walks and visits to garden centres. Staff treat Dad with dignity and respect.
My mother was a short time in the Aleandra, but I cannot put into words what she received and myself, all of our family. Everyone was brilliant when her life drew to a close. I have seen such love, care and compassion. They are all truly angels and will always hold a place in my heart.
Takes good care of my father.
Taken great care of my husband during his long stay at Alexandra Care Home, they have always taken good care of us too as a family As well when we have visited him over the years. In fact the staff have always seemed more like friends than care home staff Nothing has been too much trouble whatever our request and for this we really thank them one and all for their care and kindness. We were very lucky that my husband was a resident at this care home.
I cannot praise Alexandra Care Home enough. Mother was made very welcome from first moving in. The staff are very good and attentive at all times. The food is good and drinks and snacks are given most of the day. The entertainment is second to none, there is always something happening, family are welcome 24/7. Mum is always clean and well provided for. Her room is lovely and clean. The manager is excellent, we had a problem which the manager sorted out within hours and now we are more content.
My wife only came to the care home on the 8th of August 2023. She had one-to-one care at the start. It's difficult at times for the staff taking her clothes off and on. She was always a very private person, maybe thinks she's being abused! Overall, I'm very pleased with the patience of the staff (carers). So thank you to everyone.
I am very pleased by the way that my wife is being cared for. Very pleasant and caring staff when ever I visit-which is often. So pleased to have found somewhere that I and the family have confidence that she is being well looked after at what is a difficult time for us all.
Since my mother has been in this home I have found everyone related to her care, very helpful/easy to approach. All staff that I have dealt with have been understanding with any of my concerns.
All the staff are very friendly, I can't really review the food as I've never been there at meal times but my brother says he's always enjoyed his meals, so that is good for me. It is also very secure in all the areas that I've seen.
All round a two-week stay had no problem at all, cannot fault anything.
We were not prepared for Mum to go into a care home so when it happened in 2021 it was very helpful to have the manager there to help us. Mum doesn’t always appreciate the help and care she receives so I’m very grateful to all the staff for the patience they show. I visit very regularly and am always made to feel welcome.
I have always received a warm welcome and greeted with a smile by all staff. My wife seems to be happy which isn't always easy and hasn't complained about anything. My experience overall is very satisfactory, it's somewhat of a lottery when choosing a care home for someone special, my gratitude to the management and staff.
Alexandra House is an excellent nursing home for my father who has severe dementia. All of the staff have been caring and pragmatic with a willingness and kindness to do their best for my father. Liaison with the NHS, Social Services and the Local Authority has been exemplary.
As a family, we have been very pleased with the excellent care at Alexandra Care Home. The managers and staff have all taken time to understand and care for the needs of my father-in-law. These needs have grown more challenging during his stay and staff have been kind considerate and caring at all times. The manager is always available to discuss care plans and overall care. The care staff have taken the time to understand my father-in-law’s needs and work hard to ensure that his residency is well managed and caring. The facilities are well looked after and managed, with regular activities and parties for Xmas and special occasions. I would highly recommend it.
Dad has been a resident at Alexandra Care Home since July 2022. We are all very happy with his care. We know he is safe and happy, He can be challenging and knowing the staff look after him so well gives us all peace of mind. The staff are amazing, they work so hard and they ate very dedicated to the residents.
No one wants to think about having to find a care home for a loved one. When we needed to find a care home some years ago now and having checked out quite a few, we were very pleased to secure a place at Alexandra Care Home. He has now been a resident there for some time and although his health has deteriorated I know he is well cared for and his general health is monitored and any adjustments needed to his care are sorted out and implemented.
This relates to my Dad's first couple of weeks only, but first impressions were very good. Taking Dad with my 85-year-old Mum to a care home was a very stressful and difficult time. Staff demonstrated skill and care in dealing with the situation. All staff I met on visits during his first two weeks were friendly, helpful and obviously keen to help Dad settle in and were building relationships with him. Although very sad at my Dad having to move into a care home, the initial experience and observations gave me confidence that he was being well looked after and supported at Alexandra Court. Please note; Feedback below is based on limited experience of some areas and covid restrictions. For example, activities and furnishings. Also, Dad moved to a different room (for understandable reasons), but to a less pleasant one, which is reflected in the facilities/room rating. The garden is lovely.
