View Full Details of Ashcroft Care HomeMum has settled in here really well, my family and I are really pleased. She enjoys spending time in the living room and joining in with the activities, listening to the music and especially bingo, which she has always loved. The staff are approachable and are all friendly and professional, nothing is too much trouble, they have ordered extra equipment for Mum to make things easier for her which we really appreciate. Mum is very well cared for, in fact, she looks really well. We enjoy going to see her and spending time with her when we visit.
A well-managed facility, staff are well motivated and take time to go the extra mile to make a difference. The staff know the people in their care as individuals all with different needs and motivators. The home has a very relaxing atmosphere, with a good space outside for the summer days. On occasions throughout Mum's stay, I have had meals with her and enjoyed the food.
My mum moved into Ashcroft 7 weeks ago. From the outset, from the manager visiting Mum in her former care home to assess her, to the present, staff have been caring and supportive to Mum, my sister-in-law and me. They have quickly gained knowledge of Mum's background, family history and interests. The 'what about me' document is a useful tool. I feel 100% satisfied with Mum being looked after at Ashcroft and feel able to visit when I want. I would 100% recommend Ashcroft to others.
My mother, who was suffering from Dementia, came to stay at Ashcroft from April 2022 until her death in September. I chose Ashcroft after a very welcoming experience from my initial phone enquiry, through to my visit to the home and a tour of the building and its facilities, meeting various members of staff in many different roles who each explained how things were done at Ashcroft. After a terrible experience at her previous respite care home, I was ultra cautious when choosing where Mum was going to live, and I continued to keep a very close eye on how she was looked after during the whole of her stay. I am pleased to say that the initial good experience at Ashcroft continued until Mum died in September. The nursing staff were particularly on the ball with her medical needs, and every carer was compassionate and helpful. I visited Mum every day, and the level of care she received at Ashcroft far exceeded what I have seen at homes which are more expensive with higher CQC ratings.
Staff always very helpful and providing good care to my family member, showing kindness and patience. Also helpful to me with regards to visiting and contacting via Video calls. My family member is very happy at Ashcroft Care Home.
The staff show a lot of care for my mum. I have had to raise concerns regarding hygiene and low staffing but the current manager was approachable. Mum's records are always up to date and meals are of good quality. They often have activities for residents and families are invited to join. They do need to address staffing numbers but those there know and care for Mum's needs.
My aunt has been with you for a short period of time. In this time the staff have been very helpful and friendly to me and my brother. The care and attention they have shown to her is excellent, her only complaint to us is they give her too much food. Her general condition since being in their care is second to none and she looks much better in her general appearance and health than she had for the previous 6-7 months prior. Because she had started to self-neglect and would not allow us to assist her as we would wish.
The staff at Ashcroft have a very good understanding of my Aunties needs, they have made her feel welcome, safe and settled and at home. My Auntie doesn't always like to take part in activities but is always encouraged and made to feel part of what's going on. When I have visited the staff are always friendly and helpful and always happy to answer any questions that I may have. The home is clean and comfortable and pleasantly decorated and both rooms that my Auntie has occupied have been the same, both clean and freshly decorated, the meals that I have seen have always looked good and wholesome. I feel happy to leave my Auntie in the good hands of the home.
My father-in-law was accepted last year around October 2020. From the moment he was there we noticed a change in him, he became settled and happy. The staff were very attentive to his needs in all areas during this difficult time up to the end of his life. When my father-in-law passed away we went to see him at the home, he was wonderfully presented, clean, and dressed with dignity. All the staff at the home are a wonderful team working together and supporting each other in all areas of the nursing home. We would recommend this home to friends and family.
I always find the staff friendly and caring. They appear to have a good understanding of my dad and his care needs, likes and dislikes. The home and my dad's room is always clean and my dad is always clean and well presented when I visit.
Absolutely fantastic staff, my dad could not have a more lovely bunch of people looking after him. During this very difficult time have done their best to keep us updated on him.
I am very happy with the care and attention my relative is getting. They enjoy the food, and always look clean and well looked after. The staff always have time for any questions I ask and are going the extra mile to keep communications going during the lockdown.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean and a pleasant place with plenty of activities for everyone of all abilities. I can't thank the staff enough.
Providing a good standard of care and keep family informed of the 'lockdown' situation.
I find the staff at this home hardworking and caring, they all go above and beyond to look after not only my friend but everyone in there. Nothing is too much trouble. The service residents receive is always with a smile and love. Management are always available to go to should you need them and approachable with a caring approach. The home provides a loving environment for all involved. A brilliant place. Will always recommend. Thank you.
Never since my mum has been in care have I more needed to be able to trust the people who look after her. Currently, in the middle of lockdown, we are unable to visit mum. It is a testament to their compassionate, hard-working, dedicated staff that I know that we can relax in the knowledge that she is receiving the best care possible. I phone up and they are full of news about Mum, optimistic, friendly and helpful. Despite the dreadful and worsening situation for care homes generally, most of the staff are still at work and still as kind as ever. We know how hard things must be - thank you all of you at Ashcroft. God bless you all.
Despite the challenges my father presented, the staff at Ashcroft nursed him with compassion, patience and encouragement whilst at all times preserving his dignity. My father appeared happy at Ashcroft and when he had episodes of being unwell the staff informed us promptly to advise and discuss appropriate medical intervention. Some staff went the extra mile and were wonderful with my father and we are grateful to them all.
My wife was admitted to this care home on 30th November 2017 and since that time has been looked after with great care and attention by the staff who obviously carry out their duties (which can be very onerous at time) with endless patience and consideration for the residents who, through no fault of their own, are burdened with this loathsome illness. My friend and I could not wish to find a better place for our loved one to spend the rest of her life. Thank you Ashcroft.
We haven't had much experience with my wife being in care homes but my family and myself have been very satisfied with the care the wellbeing and the attention my wife has received whilst at Ashcroft. We have had no concerns what so ever and we couldn't recommend anything to improve the care. Many thanks.
The bedrooms need decorating and it wants to be made to look homely. The manager is doing her best but sometimes it doesn't work. She is easy to talk to the staff are ok and there are a few that are excellent and will help you any way they can. It is the bedrooms that want doing and some of the food wants changing but then again we all want the best for our loved ones don't we?
