View Full Details of Burton Closes HallI attended a weekly baby group here today where the residents and children spent time together which I believe is a great service and beneficial for all involved and amazing staff very attentive to all residence and visitors all residents appeared happy and engaged well with all what a beautiful home!
My mum is so happy at the home, the staff are so good with my mum and all the residents, lots of activity, made to feel so welcome.
The care staff at Burton Closes Hall treat our mother with genuine kindness and compassion. Staff work well together as a team and there are rarely agency staff on duty. Our mother is very vulnerable through severe dementia and me and my family are so happy with the way she is looked after. Moving Mum to a care home was a terrible experience but we are delighted with the placement at Burton Closes.
I have enjoyed a wonderful relaxing respite break being cared for by kind, dedicated, conscientious caring care staff and nurses. I have ran out of adjectives to describe these people. Absolutely everyone has made my much needed stay so beneficial and then magnificent view over the wonderful countryside. I really do not have words to do full justice of this very special place. I feel priveledged to have been able to spend time here and cannot wait to return, hopefully in December. If possible, I hope to eventually end my days here. Very big thank you to all, management and every single person who has made me feel so relaxed and cared for.
I have been quite happy and well looked after. Some carers go beyond their usual care to help which is really nice.
My father has been receiving live-in nursing care at Burton Closes Hall for 22 months. He suffered a head injury leading to a hematoma and brain surgery. He was bed-bound, unable to feed himself, and with limited speech after 8 months in hospital. He was not expected to improve. He proved more stubborn and mobile than expected and the home had to cope with him rolling out of bed and crawling around his room. They adapted their care to reduce his risk of self-injury and encouraged him to leave his room in a wheelchair. He learned to feed himself and improved his ability to express himself. The physios discovered that he could stand and walk a few steps with a Zimmer frame. However, he has remained unpredictable and without insight into his vulnerability. The home recognised his need for one-to-one care and assisted us in obtaining appropriate funding from the NHS. They continue to adapt as he slowly improves. The home has been excellent and all the staff are like family to us.
I have now been to Burton Closes Hall on quite a few times, and have always found the staff in good moods and happy in what they do. The management is always happy to talk to me as are the other staff there. It is a happy place, even though some of the clients are very poorly. I can recommend this care home to anyone. The building is an old hall but is kept to a good standard with great views over Bakewell.
We have visited several times a week for the past 8 months and have found all the staff helpful, know my relative well and can usually update me on how they have been and are very friendly. My relative suffers from dementia and we have seen/heard many interactions staff have with them and they've always remained calm and professional. Some of the staff closest to my relatives go above and beyond to make the stay more pleasant. Nothing seems too much trouble.
Some really good staff, that is the main bonus.
My ex-husband came to Burton Closes Hall for end-of-life care, he was there for five months. During that time, his care was fantastic. He and myself were treated with dignity and empathy constantly. Nothing was too much trouble for my ex-husband's well-being. The member of staff who took care of him made sure he was pain-free without knocking him out so our daughter could have quality time with her dad in his last weeks. Special food was provided, nothing was too much trouble. I will be forever grateful to the skill of Burton Closes.
The care received has been excellent. My relative came a few months ago after spending a few weeks in hospital after a fall. She was in a very poor state and had a large deep tissue injury from a long lie at the time of her fall. The care she has received at Burton Closes has resulted in the complete healing of her pressure wound, no longer being bedridden, improved mobility and clinical status and a much-improved quality of daily life. I am very grateful for the genuine care, empathy and compassion all staff have shown her. It is a well-led unit with dedicated high-quality care. As a senior health professional, I am aware of all the challenges in the care sector, and the team at Burton should be very proud of all they do and the difference they make to their residents.
Most of the staff are good, but the odd one is less satisfactory. Food is good.
I cannot thank Burton Closes Hall enough. My father was admitted for end of life care and after viewing the homes Chesterfield Hospital sent me to I was beginning to think he would have to live out his brain tumour in a hospital ward. Luckily I came across this fabulous place and I owe the manager and her amazing team a precious few months with my dad. We felt at home there, like family and I just can't express how much easier they made such a distressing time for us all. A home isn't really about how shiny and modern it is, it is about the staff and the people in it. I will be forever grateful to them and cannot recommend them enough! I would go and visit but it's too soon for me, one day I will!
Don't be put off by first impressions of this building. The manager kept us informed regularly regarding Dad and his treatment; she has made some great changes over the months we have been visiting here. Dad was on end-of-life care here for five months. The carers went above and beyond, and you could tell they all loved their work; they were so very kind to our dear old dad, and he didn't have a bad word to say about any of them. Dad was very happy in his last few months and loved that he could tell all of his stories to everyone there, even the made-up ones. (I'm framing his medals, if you know you know). Highly recommend this wonderful care home to everyone. March 2023 to August 2023.
All staff at Burton Close Hall are friendly, welcoming and professional. They treat care users with respect and are extremely caring. They carry out their duties with efficiency and maintain clients' dignity at all times, whilst offering company and friendship too. Staff encourage positivity and moral boosting to each other and service users.
Mum has been at Burton Closes Hall for nearly a year. It was not an easy start as some covid restrictions were still in place and they had just had a new manager. It did take quite a while for Mum to settle and get to know the staff there and for them to get to know Mum but now when we visit they are all like family. Everybody is very friendly and welcoming whatever time you visit. The manager is very approachable and supportive. There has recently been a meeting for families of residents to get together which was great for support and to share experiences. Mum is well cared for and she feels safe.
Mum has received such wonderful care from all the staff at Burton Closes Hall Care Home. They are so kind and compassionate with her and have taken the time to not only care for her needs but to get to know about her family too. Many thanks.
Problems with meals not tempting - boring - not suitable with cold weather - certainly needs really sorting out. Very good staff and management will always meet and talk to you.
My father was admitted for end of life care. His admission was an emergency but handled very well by the manager and her team. He was shown respect and dignity to the end. We were treated very well, despite the necessary Covid regulations.
My father has recently been staying at Burton Closes Hall for a respite period. The home is set in beautiful grounds and looks very welcoming. The staff that I have spoken to have been lovely and my father is over the moon with staying there. He was a bit worried about going into a care setting but he expresses it’s more like a hotel to my delight, this has put my mind at ease. The manager has been marvellous to deal with, she’s so pro active and positive, she is a real credit to the home, as are all the staff. My father has told me that he wouldn’t stay anywhere else apart from Burton Closes Hall. I can’t thank the staff enough for all they have done. They should all be proud of themselves. Thank you for reading this.
