View Full Details of The Grange Care CentreAn excellent care home, and the carers are fantastic we could not have wished for better, if ever I need to go into care please let it be this one. once again thank you for the care, dedication and kindness you have shown to my wife through this trying period.
Visiting this care home to see a friend I can say that the manager is always very welcoming and the staff is friendly and approachable. Staff appeared happy and were chatting to residents who looked well cared for. My friend had a huge smile on her face which said it all! The facilities are good and support for my friend is provided promptly when needed. The home appears clean and odour-free. A very pleasant visit with no concerns whatsoever.
Care is wonderful, so many poorly people, such a demanding job for carers. People with terrible bowel, water and mind problems. Meal times are very good, everyone with all sorts of food problems wanting all sorts of meals. Needed people able to be taken out in wheelchairs for fresh air, always someone to look after everyone. Trips out when the weather is good. Entertainment is very good, people are able to stay in their rooms if they don't want to take part or are not feeling very well. Medication, all people's needs are taken good care of. Thank you.
Proud to be a resident here, no complaints just praise.
I can highly recommend this care home. The manager is a very approachable, kind and caring lady, she put me at ease when my dad went into respite. The home is excellent and clean and the staff are amazing and go above and beyond to make sure residents are getting the care they need. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Lots of options for meals and they are well presented. Beautiful place.
My husband stayed for 5 nights to allow me to attend a family event. We visited a few days prior to meet the manager and be shown around and meet the staff. I was nervous about my husband going to respite for the first time, my fears were delayed. My husband has dementia, from the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome and my husband was taken for tea whilst I settled his things into his room. Throughout his stay, I kept in touch and I was told how my husband was and the fact that he was settled. I would not hesitate to recommend The Grange Care Centre and I will have no fears if my husband going for respite.
My wife has been at The Grange since August 2020. Had reservations at first but very happy with the home. Very pleased to see the previous manager return.
I am happy with the way the carers look after Mum. She is eating well and is always clean when she allows staff to wash her.
An enjoyable and informative review meeting.
My grandma came into The Grange in 2017 after starting with dementia. She was well looked after, and the home informed our family of any concerns they had. It was her 100th birthday in August 2020, and they allowed us to visits outside the home to see her through the window, which was special to us all. She sadly passed away in June 2021; the home went above and beyond for us all.
We had looked at several care/nursing homes around Chesterfield and in Cumbria (where I live) and this is one of the best. It is a very well managed home with well chosen, caring and competent staff, my mother was happy and settled there from that first afternoon she arrived and for the duration of her stay. She was always groomed and dressed appropriately and made friendships with other residents and staff alike. There was nothing that the staff were unable to cope with in their efficient and calm manner. This nursing home is a gem!
On my visits to Orchard Grange, I am satisfied that my mum is well cared for. The staff are very friendly and caring. Overall I am happy with the home.
Dad has dementia and had to be admitted for emergency respite when mum went into hospital. The Grange isn't local to us, it is a good 30 minutes drive but due to the urgency, it was the only bed available. Dad was there a total of two weeks. He had his own room and toilet. The staff were very good with him and responsive to his requests i.e. he asked for a haircut .... so he got one :). The room and toilet were always clean and tidy, and Dad was always dressing and groomed appropriately. We had to extend Dad's stay a second week and I had completely overlooked additional medication but the staff really put themselves out by fetching it from Dronfield where the blister packs were made up, what made us even more grateful was that it snowed that day but the member of staff still fetched his tablets.
I am very pleased with the care in the home. The staff are very friendly and caring, the home kept very clean and warm.
All the staff are caring and helpful. I cannot fault the care Mum receives.
The care home is brilliant. I am in for respite care. The staff there have looked after me very well after my heart failure and being in the hospital for five weeks. I would like to stay longer as I feel well since I have been there. I would stay there again and tell my friends about it. Overall very good and homely and warm.
All the staff are friendly and hardworking.
I think the care home is excellent. My mum is always praising all the staff. She is always saying she loves it. She is well cared for, the same as all the other residents. The care home is always clean, all the staff have always got a smile and are laughing with the residents. I highly recommend this care home.
The first impression of The Grange is that it is a little rough around the edges. Decor, furniture, fixtures, and fittings are past their best. However, there is currently redecoration underway which is very welcome and I've been informed new furniture is on order so this may improve in the future. The rooms always appear tidy, homely and in good order. The environment is more than compensated by the staff who appear very kind, welcoming and attentive. There are regular staff who know the residents well and are responsive to requests. The Manager is visible in the home and her door is always open for a chat or any queries. The activity coordinator is an asset to the home and regular daily activities and entertainment are on offer, although for so many residents in the home it would be good to see more resources in this area. Mum was very anxious and distressed on admission, but thoughtful care and management have made her settle well. I'm happy with the care she is receiving.
Staff are friendly and helpful, the home is always clean and warm. Meals are more than adequate and have been nice when I have eaten with mum, although snacks between meals could be offered. Bedrooms can be decorated how the service user wants. Entertainment is adequate and activities with clients are undertaken. Staff take into account individual needs and have always been respectful and caring with difficult residents. There are several rooms that residents can sit in on each floor so are not forced to be all together.
