View Full Details of Kilburn Care HomeI highly recommend this care home. The members of staff are caring, warm, professional, and excellent at keeping me informed. My Mother requires specific care with her dementia and help with her mobility, she always looks presentable and clean, and the housekeeping A*. The management are always available to contact if required and are very caring and understanding. Thank you.
Staffing on the cusp. Enough to cover residents' needs but only needs one shortage or a problem and the system struggles. Staff cannot provide and extra support or interaction as all time is taken with basic caring. No time for regular showering, etc. Activities all fine motor table-based, group involvement gross movement. Outside needs general tidy up, and regular clearing of smoking litter. Internally decor, especially rooms needs a freshen-up. The Menu could do with a revamp.
My one complaint is the fact that Kilburn care home desperately needs more staff. My other complaint about Kilburn Care Home is their phone service. They seem to operate with one phone line and as an outsider the hours I've spent waiting for the phone to be answered. My father has been in the home for over 5 years now.
I am happy at Kilburn. The staff look after me well. I'm not a mixer with people but when I do join in with activities I enjoy them. There is a good variety of food choices at meal times and the snack trolley.
The staff is very friendly and always offers drinks when we visit. The care my dad has had has been lovely. The staff meet his needs and are very good and attentive to him when needed. The back garden needs a good tidy up and would suggest a designated area for smoke breaks not in full view of the main doors. The main decor is dated and needs a makeover (which they are in motion now). I feel they would benefit from more entertainment/activity in the day/evening. All around very nice homely and friendly. Dad has settled well. The cook is very friendly. I would suggest a snack bowl of fresh fruit/yoghurts etc. would be nice.
My dad has been in a few different care homes now as his dementia progresses. This home is by far the most comfortable, friendly and accommodating. The home is clean and welcoming and the staff friendly and calm.
I am satisfied with the care that the lovely staff take with my Mother making sure she has her everything she needs. And they are friendly and welcoming when I can go see her. I am thankful they are there for Mum's situation.
I find the care given to my mother to be very good, she is well cared for, her needs are met in full, she is assisted whenever needed, the food is good, the atmosphere, facilities and care are very warm and welcoming. There are a range of varying activities provided for recreation by the staff, overall the care provided is excellent and both Mother and myself are satisfied with it, it's implementation and improvement.
Very well-run nursing home, they take good care of my grandmother and support her and her needs. She’s settled in very well with the nurse's help and support and her health has improved since her arrival in May of 2023.
My dad moved to Kilburn from the hospital in November and it is now his permanent home. The staff have been brilliant at settling him in, making him feel at home and part of the Kilburn family. They know his likes, dislikes and preferred routines and provide activities to keep him stimulated and engaged. They have also arranged for Dad to have a regular visit from the Church which is important to him. Previously Dad had been very poorly and couldn’t look after himself independently so now he feels safe, secure and reassured that caring staff are always around. The weekly visit from the GP is really good to make sure we are on top of his conditions. I also appreciate how staff organise Dad’s hospital appointments etc. Dad was really lonely after we lost Mum so now he has people around him to chat to he is becoming more himself again. Can’t thank the lovely staff and great manager enough for making this transition seamless and reassuring and for being so welcoming to us as a family.
I am happy with the care my nephew receives here at Kilburn. Happy with all the staff and my nephew expresses that he is happy here. Happy with the activities and my nephew is always happy to join in and show me what he has been doing.
Very happy with all the staff, they are very caring and thoughtful. We appreciate all they do for our father. I love to take cakes in for the staff as they work very hard and deserve a treat. It’s very safe for our father and he loves to go for walks around. I’m always kept informed of anything that happens to Dad and I am very happy with the care given.
I am satisfied with how my husband is looked after and cared for at Kilburn. He seems very happy and settled. He enjoys the food he has here and appears to sleep well and settled. My thanks to all the staff at Kilburn.
The management and all the staff have been extremely helpful and supportive in this very difficult time, explaining each step clearly to us as we go through the process of placing our dad into their care. Each time we visit the team are very friendly and caring towards the residents which is very reassuring as we are placing our loved one into their care.
Staff always friendly and helpful. Sat outside but garden area needs improvement. Couldn't sit at the outside table and chairs due to staff having cigarette break. Other chairs were broken. Alot of cigarette ends on the floor.
My aunt is being looked after in Kilburn Care Home and is well looked after. Her nutritional health has improved resulting in an improvement in her general health. Her mental health is deteriorating and she is receiving very patient care. The general tone of the home is upbeat and positive and requests from family are met with a positive approach. The daily activities provide an important part of life-enjoyment. Thanks to all.
100% throughout, I am very happy that my wife is at Kilburn Care Home. When I come to visit my wife all the staff look after me while Im here visiting.
The staff at Kilburn are always to be found amongst the residents, giving care and encouragement. I find them endlessly patient, cheerful and hardworking, creating a safe and friendly environment for those in their care, for which my sisters and I are extremely grateful.
My very dear close friend is a resident of Kilburn. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions, I like so many others have been unable to visit. I am unable to speak to her over the phone due to her diagnoses of dementia. I would like to say that on every occasion I have contacted the home for an update, the staff have been very informative on how she is and what she doing at the time. The staff at Kilburn are very caring and know my friend very well. They know what she likes and what she doesn't. I cannot wait until the government and covid allow us back into care homes so I can say thank you in person as I know know she is in very capable hands.
The care provided to my husband is excellent. All the staff are friendly and helpful. My husband is treated with dignity and respect. It is positive that the new owners are investing in the building and improving the decoration however, it is always clean. The only area for improvement would be to improve the ensuite facilities.
