View Full Details of Milford HouseI always describe Milford House as 'home from home' and cosy. I would always recommend this home to anyone. I find the staff friendly and helpful even when things are busy. The main thing for me is, is Mym looked after? The answer is yes. To relatives, this is one less thing to worry about.
My mum has recently moved to the Coach House area of the home and we are very happy with her transition to this area. The staff are all very friendly and attentive to all the residents. Mum moved to get the extra nursing care she needs now. The Coach House has a warm and relaxing atmosphere, the peacefulness and staff interaction with all help the residents to enjoy their stay knowing they are being well cared for. Thank you.
Since my mum arrived at Milford the staff have been amazing with her. They are so considerate and kind. Although my mum doesn't always join in with the activities, there's always something happening everyday.
I couldn't wish for a better place for my mum to live. She is happy, loved and so well cared for. The staff are so kind and compassionate, they treat every resident like family. The home is always clean and there is always something going on for the residents. It's like a hotel!
My mother has been a resident for 6 years and I have always been happy with the care that she's received.
Very happy with the care Mum receives. Proffessional, caring, friendly staff. All of Mum's needs are met. Clean, bright, well-decorated and maintained property. Would recommend highly.
Staff are great, always lots of entertainment. Always friendly and smiling. They are very caring and conscientious. The food is lovely, lots of activities for people to take part in. I would always be willing to recommend the home to others.
Visiting my mum is a great experince. Coming to the home feels like an extension of my home and part of my family. I know most of the staff by name and I'm always made to feel very welcome. My mum is very well looked after and all her needs are met. My siblings and I are pleased that Mum is a resident. We are kept fully informed of her condition. Mum is as happy and content as she can be given her condition of which all the staff are fully aware. Yes, I would recommend this home.

Mum is very happy at Milford House. They are very caring and arrange a lot of stimulating activities and social occasions. The food and environment is homely and welcoming. They keep us informed of any health issues. The staff are very friendly and obviously know Mum and what she likes.
Great friendly place, they look after my dad well and make it a happy environment to live. Everywhere is always spotlessly clean and there are always plenty of activities to keep my dad engaged and enjoying his later years in a great environment.
My parents have been accorded dignity and respect in all areas. The staff talk directly to the residents and always listen. I want to say a big thank you for the care you provide my mum. It has led to me fully trusting you for her care, safe in the knowledge we have done our best. Thank you.
My mum has lived at the Coach House since 2020. She has advanced dementia with significant and challenging behavioural problems. Under the outstanding leadership of the lead nurse, the nursing team have managed my mum's dementia care with a professional, caring, consistent and supportive approach. Mum is calm, clean, well fed and comfortable whenever I visit, which is quite an achievement. Despite Mum's complex and demanding illness, she has been treated with respect, dignity and kindness and the staff have ensured that she is able to live her best possible life. I will always be grateful to them for this.
Mum is really well looked after at Milford House. She seems very settled and happy. The food is lovely and she eats so much better here than she did at home, as she has got company. All the communal areas are always clean and tidy, Mum's room is perfect for her. She especially loves her orchid.
When my mom's dementia got to the point where she couldn't safely remain in her home, she moved initially to a care home in Scotland near my sister. She was there for six months but never really settled. The food that was served had no resemblance to the menu. And activities happened once in a blue moon. In the end, we decided to move her down near me. I looked at several residential homes near the area and Milford house seemed the best. Albeit slightly more expensive than the others. The carers are genuinely caring. There are lots of activities. The food is pretty good and the rooms are nice. The lift is noisy, but it's an old building so perhaps unavoidable.
My father has been a resident in Milford House Care Home since July 2024, having had a short respite stay beforehand. He has always been treated with kindness and respect by all the staff, who are equally friendly and welcoming to visitors at all times. My father particularly enjoys the food and company at the home and loves having a chat and sharing jokes with the staff. There are regular activities arranged for residents, which they clearly enjoy and often include family, friends and the wider community. Although he has had several health challenges during his stay; these have been dealt with very professionally at all times and this gives me great confidence that he is being well cared for at Milford House.
As a visitor, always made to feel welcome and feel part of the Milford House family. Staff are great with my mum, treat her with dignity and love at all times. Activities are open to all residents and visitors. My mum loves the variety of activities, especially those which include music in one way or another. Mum has lived living at Milford House since the day she moved in. Thank you all for your care.
My father had to move into Milford before Christmas as his dementia had become too much for the family to cope with. The manager and his team provide excellent care. The Montessori philosophy creates a calm atmosphere within the home. The food and activities are excellent. The place feels more like a home than a clinical institution. It is welcoming, comfortable and relaxing.
Milford House has always been a warm and welcoming place for my Mother. Years ago she was visiting friends and relatives there and now she’s a resident. So, she’s now able to enjoy the care and respect she’s getting in her latter years and I get to visit her regularly and see how well she’s being looked after. The home is always well-ordered and there are many activities organised for those who are able. Mum can connect well with the staff and I’m sure this is the place she’s happy for her closing years.
My Dad has been in Milford House for nearly a year now. He is really well cared for. I live abroad, and Milford keep me well-informed about any changes in his health or needs. They are always patient and kind to my Dad, and with us too. All of the staff are so kind, it is very reassuring for me to know that my Dad is safe and well cared for. Thanks, Milford House.
