View Full Details of The Old VicarageI'd like to really thank the manager and her nursing staff, for looking after my mother in her final days and hours. They all acted very professional and caring, helping us to move forward, after her passing on the 21st of October 2024, thanks again.
Dreadfully understaffed. Frequent change of staff and management. Clearly no investment in building or staff. Agency staff not adequately trained. I do not believe my father's basic care needs are being met.
The staff at The Old Vicarage are so kind and caring. They look after my friend over and above their duties.
My relative went into this home a couple of months ago. Since moving in, I have peace of mind. I know that he is well looked after and that he has people that actually care about him. The staff are caring and take the time to feed him as he is unable to do this. They change him regularly and move his position to make sure there are no bedsores.
The care home has a lovely homely feel. It's not all mod cons and brand new. It has been a care home for a long time and some of the furniture and rooms are quite dated, however, the management and staff are extremely friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. I was told when mum first moved there 2 and a half years ago that they were like one big family there and although mum was in denial for a long time about having to be there, two months ago she said, "they are all like my family here" which proves that she is happy and contented living at the SRJ Care Home Ltd (The Old Vicarage).
I am happy with the care given.
I was recommended the home, since my sister moved in, we have been shown the utmost kindness and care and attention. All of the staff are extremely obliging and good.
The home has always been clean warm and welcoming. The staff are always attentive and doing activities or sitting and chatting to the residents. My mum seems happy and settled.
I cannot praise all the staff highly enough. The senior nursing staff are always on hand to deal with any queries that might arise and all the other staff including cleaners and cooks always have a smile and a cheery outlook. Nothing is too much trouble. They all certainly do their very best to make everyone comfortable and content.
My parents are both in The Old Vicarage. They are well cared for in a small homely environment. They are well fed with home cooked food and dressed and sitting in a lounge every day not left alone in bedrooms which I think is terribly isolating for people. The staff have a warm professional way of dealing with people. The home should be given extra funds for refurbishment of areas that need updating.
My mother was in The Old Vicarage Care Home for over 9 years and from day one we were very pleased with the care and love she received. The staff were kind at all times and spent as much time as they could talking to her especially when she was eventually confined to her room. My mother needed a special diet and in all those years the staff never made a mistake. I always felt she was safe and happy there.
