View Full Details of Valley Lodge Nursing HomeMy friend recently accommodated with you. Initial impression - friendly/professional management, staff, and carers. The environment is clean, bright, warm, welcoming, and homely. My friend is calmer, settled, clean, and well-presented. Happy! Good activities/stimulation. Well laid out/newly refurbished. Fresh air.
I believe my Mother's care is excellent. The staff are friendly, considerate and very helpful. The standard of Valley Lodge is high, it is clean and warm with a cheerful atmosphere and the food looks (and smells!) excellent. My Mother's physical and mental state have improved greatly since she moved in.
Valley Lodge really is amazing. My Mum continues to tell me that she is very happy at Valley Lodge. Everyone is very nice to her. Thanks to the management and catering staff identifying her eating disorder, that has now been resolved. Mum loves the entertainment and activities on offer and loves to take an active part in the gardening club and the knitting group. Thank you everyone.
As my Mother has been in Valley Lodge for eighteen months now, it has become clear that her physical and mental state have deteriorated considerably. Without 24-hour care and supervision, it is obvious that she would not have been able to keep living as long as she has. This is due to the amazing staff that cares for her which cannot be easy under difficult and challenging circumstances. I have a great deal of respect for the staff and there are one or two that are brilliant in what they do.
It took a while for Mum to settle but the staff at Valley Lodge were very supportive and did their best to advise and make things work for her. Her room is comfortable and always kept spotless. Mum is as involved as much as she can be with the activities and is never ignored or excluded. She is treated with respect and I feel she is cared for really well by the team.
My mother-in-law is bed bound and has severe dementia so is unable to participate in all Valley Lodge has to offer. Despite this, she is very well cared for. Whenever we visit she is always clean and comfortable. The staff are caring and kind and genuinely care about her wellbeing. We have a good relationship with the staff and they keep us informed of her condition.
Valley Lodge is a wonderful care home with lovely staff that are approachable and helpful. Activities and social events are often and the fayres are great for bringing the family including the great-grandchildren!
A lovely setting for my mother. A pretty room with an outstanding view. Fabulous staff and very attentive. The addition of dogs is wonderful. We feel secure in the knowledge that our mother is being cared for with kindness and dignity.
I accompanied my mum whilst she visited her friend who is a resident at Valley Lodge. It was the first we had visited and we found the staff friendly and welcoming. The staff treated the resident with dignity and were kind and caring. It was nice to see my mum's friend in this nursing home being looked after.
We visit our friend regularly, we always find him clean and tidy, settled and in good spirits. We use the 'cafe' area to make him, and us, a drink. There always seems to be plenty of activities for the residents at different levels.
My friend is clearly happy and content at Valley Lodge. The physical surrounding are excellent and he has a very good rapport with the staff and other residents. I have not filled in the 'management' and 'value for money' boxes below as I do know these details.
Always being greeted with a smile and welcome at reception is a good start to every visit. All Valley Lodge staff seem to be very busy when I am there.
When we viewed Valley Lodge for the first time, we liked the ambience, the layout, the amount of light, the smell, the location and size of the available room and the furniture in the room. All members of staff have been helpful. They have looked after my wife with kindness, dignity and professionalism, to make her feel welcome in her new home. They have done all they can to help her feel comfortable and safe.
My aunt is settled and happy here at Valley Lodge and my impression is of an excellent and well-run home.
I have found the care in the exceptional. It is a very difficult time for me watching my husband's condition deteriorate but the staff, without exception have been supportive and caring of both of us. I don't know how they do it day in, day out.
As always the care is exemplary but not at the expense of first stopping, having a laugh, a chat, a cuddle! So important, lots of trips-what a shame that Valley Lodge doesn't have its own minibus, could do so much more! Weekly meetings with residents and relatives are so important. The manager does it so well. She's always available and knows all the residents. A big shout-out to the activity coordinators.
On a recent visit to see a friend I found the care home very pleasant. The staff were friendly and caring. I can't rate some of it because I didn't see the food, activities etc as it was my first visit but I was so impressed I am sure they are excellent.
Excellent onsite management and care provision at Valley Lodge, it simply can't be faulted. However, trying to contact the Ashmere owners at Head Office has proved nigh on impossible particularly in relation to fees and costs queries as well as the poor standard of food on offer. The directors very obviously seem to hope that by ignoring you that any issues or problems will mysteriously disappear. Food provision: originally cooked onsite and very good. Subsequently swapped to 'bought in' catering which resulted in a serious decline in standard. Clearly and obviously a profit related move by the owners with minimal thought given to quality or nutritional value etc.
An exceptionally well-run care home - the manager and her staff are very compassionate and caring. Nothing was too much trouble in the way that my wife was cared for - they made her as comfortable as possible. Valley Lodge made life easier for both my wife and myself. What a pity that the food is of such poor quality since it stopped being cooked on the premises.
Every member of staff is approachable and happy to deal with any issue or find the appropriate person for you. Any issues have been dealt with immediately, which is very reassuring. Lunch and tough meat is a problem but is presently trying to be altered. My personal experience is a sense of happiness in the home, everyone is welcome to come and join in. We love the social media feeds especially on the days we cannot drop by as it shows us what has been happening that day. Overall the energy is so positive from staff who make every day a cheerful experience for my mother. Thank you.
