View Full Details of Woodhall ParkWhen my lovely dad was admitted to hospital, it became apparent he could no longer be cared for at home and required nursing care. We set about finding a nursing home close to our home. In what was an awful time as a family, the one stroke of luck we did have was finding Woodhall Park. My wife (a nurse of 40 years) initially spoke with the Matron and was immediately impressed by her professionalism and integrity. Upon visiting the home this was reflected in her staff, I knew immediately it would suit dad and our family, we were blessed that a vacancy came up at the right time. After a bumpy transition to his new home, dad settled well. I have nothing but praise for the care he received during his time there, the staff are all incredible and do an amazing job, they really are angels. The communication with the home throughout dad's stay was open and honest which I really valued. Dad's final days were spent at Woodhall where he was treated with nothing but dignity and compassion.
I would like to say that the staff at Woodhall Park have been totally brilliant in caring for my mother. She has challenges with her mental health at times as well as her physical health and is always cared for with so much dignity and respect. She has settled into her routine now and I am so grateful for that and the ongoing care she is receiving. Thank you to all the staff it is very much appreciated and has put myself and my brother's mind at rest knowing she is in this wonderful caring home.
At the point that we could no longer care for my mother sufficiently at home, we had the task of trying to find a care home at short notice for palliative care. The senior nursing manager was so helpful in taking the arrangements off our hands for fast-track admittance, and while only a small room was initially available, as soon as a larger room became free they moved Mum and she spent her final month in a lovely setting. While the well-organised activities others mention were not really relevant in our case, the staff were so helpful and caring and the movable comfy reclining armchairs were a real boon to Mum and ourselves. Mum did not partake of any meals, but the staff were very good in continually trying to offer and coax her with sips of supplements and even ice cream, with a constant flow of cups of tea. Overall, Mum's final days spent in the care of the lovely people at Woodhall Park were made as comfortable and dignified as possible. A special mention for the doctor too.
My father has been at Woodhall Park since he suffered a stroke in June 2021. My father has vascular dementia and consequently suffers with his memory, mobility and self-care. The staff are competent and friendly even when extremely busy. During COVID-19, the nurses and carers did their best to control the virus within the home and helped me maintain contact with my father to the best of their ability, also following legal guidelines. There are regular activities run by a brother and sister and they really bring out confidence and creativity in the residents, contributing to the resident's self-confidence. The food is excellent and in my experience, the home is run like clockwork with a personal touch. The bedrooms are practical and sufficient and the grounds are beautiful. A home from home. Admin is also easy to process with the administrator. The Matron is extremely efficient, understanding and patient. So grateful for this home-from-home for my father
My aunt is very well looked after in a warm, clean, comfortable and safe environment. Her very particular dietary requirements are accommodated fully and the standard of personal care is excellent. Soon after she became a resident the nursing manager/staff got her pain levels under control and encouraged her to do/move more. My aunt is treated as an individual and as next of kin, I am kept fully informed/consulted. I am so pleased she is in an independent home as I believe that contributes to the care ethos in Woodhall Park. All staff are pleasant and their interactions with the residents show they consider them to be ‘real people’, not just a task to be dealt with. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Woodhall Park to anyone looking for a quality home for their relative. The administration side is consistently efficient too which is reassuring. I am so pleased to have found the home for my aunt in March 2023 thanks to a friend - its reputation is hard-earned and thoroughly deserved.
I cannot thank Woodhall Park enough for the excellent care they have and continue to provide for my mum. Key factors to this high standard of care include excellent partnership working with us as a family. Staff have ensured that they have provided regular updates of Mum's needs/progress. They have taken time to listen to us and learn about what are her likes/dislikes/preferences are and in doing so have offered person-centred care. They have provided a therapeutic, purposeful, fun and stimulating environment which has facilitated a marked improvement in her mental state. Woodhall Park has worked with us and social services to facilitate a positive transition for Mum to return home, something I never dreamt of. She continues to attend Woodhall Park once a week, to be with her extended family and ours. As an occupational therapist I have high expectations and not having to worry about the care Mum receives has been such a blessing. Thank you to you all.
My mother has been a resident at Woodhall Park Nursing Home for 18 months. All my mother's needs are met by the staff and her verbal communication is minimal. As her daughter, I am fully involved in my mother's care and I have had high expectations, firstly because she is my mum but also due to bad experiences with other care providers out of this area. The staff at Woodhall Park have fully involved me in her care from day 1 and I know they truly care about my mum. I also know my mum would want to thank all the staff at the home for the care they provide her with and would join me in writing this review. As her daughter, I would like to say that Woodhall Park has lifted a great weight off my shoulders worrying about my mums care. Throughout this process, I have learnt that there is no such thing as perfect care but if you have a good, working relationship with good care providers you can both work towards the perfect care package together. Many thanks to you all!
