View Full Details of The New Lodge Nursing HomeMy Mum was in the New Lodge for 4 years and had excellent care throughout. The staff have great skills that ensured Mum was always receiving the correct medication and they are also so kind and caring for patients and family. Thank you to all at the staff over the years
The care that is provided is 2nd to none. My daughter is unable to do anything for herself & is not always cooperative. I am extremely grateful that her unwillingness at times has no bearing on the quality of care administered.
Our mother is a resident at New Lodge Nursing home. She has Huntingtons disease which is a complex illness. She has always received the highest level of care for her needs. The staff always prioritise her dignity. The staff are highly trained and experienced to deal with the complex and challenging nature of the illness. The environment is always clean and standards in the home are high throughout. They also do regular activities to engage with the residents and families are always welcomed. The last few years has been difficult for us as a family but the home has always provided support and guidance even in the most challenging of circumstances. The staff that look after our mother on a daily basis or the most caring, thoughtful people and we are grateful for their hard work and kindness.
My Nan moved here after a hip replacement. This nursing home is probably the best we have been to. The staff are amazing as well as the managers. We really couldn't ask for better care. The staff are always happy and treat the residents with the up most respect as well as the family members. Since being there my Nans over all mental health has also improved which is amazing. We wish she was there from the start
Our mum past away a week before Christmas after battling Huntington's disease for nearly 20 years. I moved her from a previous home as there was a few red flags and she's been residing at The New Lodge for about 6 years. Mum's time here, the care given has been excellent but not only to her but to myself and brother as well, it's been our second family. Mum fought her illness right until the very end and the dignity and respect given is something that we'll never forget. Even mum had her send off from the home which is something I'm so grateful for. Genuinely a lovely, caring team.
The New Lodge Nursing Home is truly outstanding. My 94-year-old mother-in-law spent the last two months of her life there. The kindness, care, compassion and professionalism of all the staff in respect of the residents, and relatives, was wonderful to witness. Quote from her son: 'I never imagined the immense gratitude I'd feel for the care and love Mum received. It humbles me.'. The whole family feels the same. Thank you to everybody at The New Lodge. You are all stars.
My nan was only in for 2 days before she sadly passed away. But she was treated with the utmost respect, dignity and empathy. The staff truly do a remarkable job. And when my nan had passed the family were treated so kindly and catered to for our every need. Highly recommend.
This care home may not be a high-end classy hotel, but the care, love and support the staff provide are without doubt the best you can get! Nothing is too much trouble and the home is full of love and laughter for residents, family and visitors alike. My husband died recently, and although I was not with him, I am sure he knew he was surrounded by friends. When I finally arrived I was greeted by staff who were genuinely distressed by his death, so an extra big thank you to all concerned. There were many family and friends who visited during his nine-month stay, but not one person had a bad comment to make - in fact, everyone said what a happy and loving place to be a resident in, which was very reassuring. So a very big thanks to everyone involved from the cleaners at the bottom, to the senior medical staff and administrators and owners, thank you from a widow and her very grateful family.
My grandmother was transferred to New Lodge from the local hospital on a fast-track end-of-life pathway. Throughout her stay she has been treated with the utmost care and compassion by all of the staff. New Lodge has gone out of its way to make her as comfortable as possible despite very difficult end-of-life symptoms, and her wishes have been placed at the centre of her care. As my grandmother’s only relative I have also been really cared for during this time, with no restrictions upon visiting, and have even been given meals so that I can spend the most time possible with her. Very quickly following admission it was clear that staff not only knew my grandmother’s medical needs but had taken time to speak to her and find out about her as a person. Very real care and compassion have been central to her stay. Whilst unable to participate in the main activities being visited by lambs and having the opportunity to have her hair cut (even in bed) have made such a difference to her.
My mother became a full-time resident at The New Lodge Nursing Home, Derby in November 2023. She has late-stage dementia. The care she has received has been exemplary. The staff are wonderful in every way. Our family can't thank them enough. The home is beautiful and spotless. So much thought goes into every day. Nothing is ever too much trouble. One of the most difficult decisions is putting a loved one in a nursing home and we will be eternally grateful to everyone at New Lodge for the care, commitment, and dedication they give to the most valuable work that they do. This gives us peace of mind that Mum is being so well cared for. Thank you so much to every single staff member.
On our first visit, the manager welcomed us warmly and showed us all around. Our first impressions were a bright, immaculately clean and happy home. We saw two rooms, choosing the one we liked for Mum. Next, we met some of the staff and had a long chat over a very welcome cuppa. We just knew then, we had found the right place. Mum moved in a few days later. Her room was spotless, bright and airy, overlooking the garden - just perfect. From that very first day, she received outstanding care from the whole 'family', who make The New Lodge Nursing Home what it is - a truly special home, full of wonderful, extremely caring, compassionate people. You simply couldn't choose a better home for your loved one. Sadly, Mum's time here was all too short but the loving care she received is appreciated more than words can say. We will be forever grateful to our 'family' at The New Lodge for everything they did for Mum and for us. Thank you all, so much, from the bottom of our hearts.
My mum only had three weeks at The New Lodge Nursing Home. She entered the home on end-of-life care. Whilst she was there she had the best care possible. The nursing care she received was five-star. The nurses, care and management staff kept us fully informed of Mum's health and well-being. They were friendly, caring and loving towards Mum and our family also. Even when she passed away, the respect she got from them all was A-star. Thank you New Lodge Nursing Home for everything.
My grandma was here till her last days and the staff was absolutely amazing, went above and beyond. During her last days, they were making sure she was as comfortable as she could be but also, were making sure we were okay and offering us food and drinks. So amazing!
The care that was given to my grandma was outstanding and it truly made her last few weeks more comfortable, the team around her were so lovely. She was completely in her comfort zone and was looked after so well.
The staff here are absolutely wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. You can see and feel that they genuinely care. The place is incredibly homely and it does not feel clinical at all. A really lovely place, with beautiful staff where my gran spent her final few weeks.
All staff I meet are friendly and helpful to me. She always talks highly of friendly helpful staff. Always offered a cuppa tea and they are always on hand if I have any questions, plenty of staff always around. We receive regular messages, updates and pictures when visited by animal therapy people. Very good all in all.
My mum has lived at her new home, The New Lodge, since last year and I have been very impressed, and reassured by the staff, with the care my mum has and is still receiving. She enjoys the entertainment they provide here too. The staff are like family and you become close friends with the residents and their family/friends too. The bedrooms are clean, including the dining room and lounges. The garden is lovely, and private, and provides seating arrangements and space for residents and visitors.
Every member of the clinical and non-clinical team gave a gold standard of end-of-life care to our beloved mum. Consistency of excellent compassion, kindness and attention to small important details will never be forgotten. Each member of the team day and night, deserves recognition for always going the extra mile to make the experience of care the best it can be. Care at the New Lodge is safe, well-led and managed, personalised and empathetic. Care extends to all family members at all times. The respect and dignity shown to our mum was exemplary and appreciated greatly and noticed by all who experienced her care. At the end of life, the family would like to make known how the team and residents were able to pay respects in our mum's final journey past home. Heartfelt thanks for the memories the team have given to our family.
My nan moved into this lovely home on end-of-life care after being in hospital for around 5 weeks. The time she spent here was amazing I can not fault the staff from the moment she moved in to the very end and including after. Very accomodating asked us if we wanted any hot drinks or anything to eat. Very friendly and chatty explained what was happening what their plan was or what they were going to do very well. There was never a question as to what they meant. Even down to her final trip out of the home, the staff on-site who cared for my nan came out for final goodbyes. Really can not fault anything they did. My nan was always dressed presentable and always clean when she wasn't able to do it herself. Extremely helpful would 100% recommend this home to anyone.
A massive thanks to all your staff for the support you gave my mum and the family from start to finish, our mum has been so loved and cared for, and loved every minute she spent with you all, truly thank you, you are all amazing.
