View Full Details of Charnwood OaksTook good care of my husband. Very friendly staff to my husband and my family made very welcome on our visits also trustworthy.
My experience has been nothing but positive, I trusted the staff to take care of my mum which they did right up until she passed away. They ensured she didn't suffer and acted promptly when she become suddenly ill. The staff always made me feel welcome and limitless patience and caring with mum. Thank you.
Our mum was only at Charnwood Oaks for a few weeks for what turned out to be end of life care. The care she received from the nurses and carers was excellent. As was the support provided to the family. Mum was treated with compassion and dignity.
My father in law is not the easiest of gentlemen, Charnwood Oaks looks after him well, sort out his needs and put into place the things I ask for e.g omletter without pepper.
Mum was a resident at Charnwood Oaks for 8 years before passing away last month. Clearly this has been a lengthy journey for mum and although there's always room for improvement, I really want to give a massive shout-out to the carers and nurses for their sheer graft and dedication to the residents, as well as their welcoming attitude towards visitors. I have no idea how they get through one 12 hour shift, never mind day after day. It was so helpful being able to pop in to see mum at any time of the day or night and to have a chat with whoever happened to be on shift. The staff became like second family over the years! Thank you all so much for your care of mum and friendship to me.
My wife was a resident at Charnwood Oaks for a couple of years until she sadly passed away very recently. During her time here, unfortunately, she became totally bedridden and the care, attention and dignity she was given by the carers throughout was absolutely fantastic. Whenever I visited, no matter what time of day, I was always fondly greeted by all of the staff and nothing was ever too much trouble. I was always kept fully informed of how my wife was doing and I have to finish by saying that Charnwood Oak staff have all helped me too tremendously throughout this time to which I am very very grateful for.
Very poor. Currently lying in bed full of faeces. Cannot get hold of care assistants. When they do walk in they speak in their own language and swear at me. No wash for over 7 days. The food is very poor. Developed pressure sores.
My mother was made to feel valued and treated with respect. Staff were very understanding of her needs. I only wish she had been a resident here from the beginning - her previous care home was not good. The building is very pleasant and visiting never a problem. My mother sadly passed away and the staff were really helpful.
My Mother spent 12 months at this care home until she passed away there. During this time she was treated with dignity respect and given the care that you would want your mother to have. All the staff works so hard to make the resident's life a comfortable and contented one. The care team the cleaning team and the team that prepares the food are 100% committed to their role. I'd also like to thank the medical practitioners who work in conjunction with the Oaks for their openness honesty and support.
We found that the staff were excellent carers for our Mother, at times she was confused and sad but all the carers treated her calmly and considerately. Giving her comfort and reassurance. I wish to say that the activities were excellent getting Mum involved and doing things I didn't know she could do, we have wonderful pictures of her smiling and enjoying them. Thank you from all the family for the professionalism and care given.
My mother was very well cared for during her stay at Charnwood Oaks. As expected, she passed away peacefully and all instructions for this event were followed. During my visits, I could see that Mum was comfortable and looked after with lots of care and attention.
Greeted with reassuring smiles and open arms, we immediately felt at home, dispelling any concerns about either the care or the facility. Whilst Mum was only a resident for a short period of time, I was blown away by the care and support she received, always with concern for her well-being and compassion. The nursing staff were attentive and diligent, no request was too much trouble and I certainly was left feeling she was in great hands. Her room was bright and cheery, with music and photos all around and I was encouraged to visit at any time. Although Mum wasn't well enough to participate in any activities, I saw other residents enjoying music/games and crafts. The care and dignity afforded to Mum whilst a resident at Charnwood Oaks surpassed my expectations and I am truly thankful to all the staff there.
My lovely elderly wife has Alzheimer's, brittle bones, a balance problem, and joint pains. She sustained a complete major fracture of the ankle and was admitted to the hospital for a month and then transferred to Charnwood Oaks for a further 3 months. She was very well looked after. They supervised her closely in a ground-floor single room and then provided graduated rehabilitation with a trial home visit so that she has now been able to get home. At Charnwood there is a regular GP weekly review in a very personal way. The home is easily contacted by phone (minimal wait of half a minute). The staff are friendly, really reliable, and there are regular group activities.
Father was at Charnwood Oaks for around three years. He loved all the staff who looked after him with great care. He had a nice room where he felt safe and could mix with other residents if he wanted to in the day room. Thanks to Charnwood Oaks for their great care, for both of my parents, as this home was where my Mother passed away also.
I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and love shown to my mum throughout her stay at the home. Since the new manager in particular has taken over the home is a loving, caring environment. Clean and with carers who care, not only providing care.
I can honestly say that, on the whole, I was pleased with the way in which my husband was cared for. He was afforded dignity and much love, ease and attention from nurses and carers alike. I would not have wished for him to be cared for at another home except for Charnwood Oaks.
Dad is looked after very well and likes all of the staff on his unit. If there are ever any issues the taff deal with it in a timely manor.
Our review of Charnwood Oaks Care Home is we have not found anything to really complain about. Our son has resided here for eighteen months and seems very content. The staff are very kind and caring towards him which makes us content. We have not heard him complain about anything while he has been here. If he has a fall or a choking episode, we are informed by telephone by a member of staff which is very good and keeps us up to date with the problems he experiences daily. A very good care home. When visiting, you are always greeted with a smile. Two satisfied parents.
My father passed away on the 1st of June this year, and as we had to travel from the USA to take care of his final dealings, we scheduled a time with the home to clean out his rooms to which they agreed that his belongings would not be touched. Upon our arrival, we found his room cleared out and his belongings carelessly tossed into a storage container on the grounds. Many items were broken and missing. The home had also misplaced items and could not find them. When we asked to speak to the manager, she was suddenly called away on urgent business, and although we requested a call back to set up a time to meet, she did not get in touch with us. The staff was belligerent and shrugged their shoulders while asking what they should do about our concerns. Our interactions were highly unprofessional and unsatisfactory.
