View Full Details of Longcliffe Care HomeI never thought my dad would settle in a care home, but he has - and settled very well. My experience dealing with the staff has been excellent and I see how much Dad likes them - a lot. I cannot rate the home highly enough.
Good care home, very welcoming and caring staff.
My father was discharged from the hospital to Longcliffe for the last few weeks of his life. Throughout, he was treated with care, respect and dignity. He has a lovely private room, and there were other peaceful spaces in the home where we could go if we needed to be alone. The staff were wonderful, working hard to make him as comfortable as possible. Dad's stay at Longcliffe was all too brief, but we couldn't have wished for better care for him and support for the family.
My mum is in this home and she is very happy there although she is bedbound at the minute. The staff are so lovely and caring nothing is too much trouble for them and the owner is approachable and willing to help in any way she can and the home is spotless. The rooms are very nice too. I would strongly recommend this care home to anyone.
Staff are always polite, friendly and willing to help. The home feels relaxed, friendly and homely. As a family we really needed it to be the right place for her. They have made her welcome and worked with her and it seems to be making her calmer than she has been for a while.
Dad was having to stay at Longcliff Care Home as the family were going on holiday. He wasn't looking forward to it due to a previous bad experience in another home. As it turned out he had a very pleasant experience. The staff were very good, the food was excellent, along with games and generally have a good time with everybody. Fully recommend Longcliff Care Home.
Having been here for nine months mum is very settled, very well looked after. I cannot fail Longcliffe at all!
They are very good. The staff really help you. I want to stay at Longcliff Care Home.
Just wanted to say thank you to all the staff for persevering with my mother since she arrived in January. I know it was hard at first but she now appears to be very happy. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
I find the home very good, and the staff are very nice and helpful as I visit my mum every week.
From my initial visit when my mum needed to be in a care home I found Longcliffe to be homely and the staff friendly. My mum who has just passed away age 95 has been very well cared for since taking up residence in June 2019. I believe my mum had good relations with all the staff and the owner and I had no issues with anything during her stay. I would certainly recommend Longcliffe and have in fact done so.
My relative has settled well and now treats Longcliffe as home. This is undoubtedly due to the care and attention to detail provided by the staff, manager/owner. When visiting everyone is polite, helpful, and friends. They recognize me and make me feel welcome. The property feels welcoming and is well maintained.
The atmosphere is one of care and love. Beautiful. I've not seen a cross word spoken.
The home is very friendly and welcoming. All the staff I have dealt with are excellent. The meals are very good. Medical needs are quickly recognised and dealt with promptly. Overall, I have found it to be excellent.
Very well cared for and every care taken to help and respect your wishes, and comfortable.
All of the staff I dealt with were so understanding and caring. My 101 year old mother felt very safe and looked after you made her feel very special. Thank you all for the care and attention you gave to my mother. Your bedrooms are superb. In fact, I could not pick any fault with any areas I viewed. You are a very good care home in my opinion.
I arrived here after 3 months in hospital in a poor way, confused, losing weight and I was met with nothing but kindness - a bit firm but necessarily so. All my many visitors were made welcome and I was encouraged to take part in activities.
My view of Longcliffe Care Home is that whilst the building may not look very beautiful, decorations are being carried out. The care and consideration given to residents could not be bettered. My friend who is a highly intelligent woman is physically frail but still with mental acuity who strives to remain as independent as is possible and sensible. The staff, who have all got to know her well in a few months, treat her with friendly respect. It is not only the residents but their visitors who are made to feel welcome. They listen and do their best to rectify or explain any problems. I don't know the cost but I would choose to stay there if I needed residential care.
My father moved to Longcliffe last September which was a difficult time for all of us. However, the welcome and warmth from all the staff enabled dad to settle very quickly into his new home. He enjoyed the company of everyone and took part in many activities. These included theatrical productions, trips on a steam train (a highlight), visits to the local church and religious services within the home. Issues with his health were always recognised quickly and medical advice sort and acted upon. Although his appetite was poor, staff managed to get him to eat and drink. Throughout his stay, he was treated with kindness and respect whatever the time of day or night he needed help. In dad's own words "I feel safe!". Thank you to everyone who cared for him.
My dad moved into Longcliffe in September 2016. From the time he moved in, the care provided was excellent. Living over 200 miles away, we only visited at weekends and during the holidays and on every occasion, we only ever see familiar members of staff who knew him well. The home provided him with a safe, caring environment and the staff dignified care. He enjoyed his last year in Longcliffe and made many new friends. As a family, we couldn't have asked for a better home,
