My son entered the Matthews Unit in January 2018. He had suffered a
severe brain injury in a motorcycle accident. He needed full care, tube
feed, and transferring by hoist. He was doubly incontinent and could not
sit upright by himself. It is now November 2019, and after much care
from a dedicated team and physio occupational therapist and care
workers, he is able to eat, walk, talk and he is presently in their
assessment flat getting him ready to leave and live an independent life.
Nothing short of a miracle, we owe such a lot to the Matthews Unit.
