View Full Details of Sutton in the Elms Private Care HomeMum has been in Sutton in the Elmes Care Home now for nearly six months. She settled in extremely quickly and I must thank all the staff and management for making this possible. All the staff are so kind and make Mum feel happy and secure and to me, this is everything as I can trust Mum is in the best hands we could wish for. Her room is spotless and if anything is required the staff are quick to address. Her well-being is constantly monitored and I receive regular feedback which is also so reassuring. I am so pleased to have found Sutton Elms and would like to give a very big thank you to the staff and management for my mum's care.
Dad was very well looked after and he wasn't an easy man to please! The nurses, in particular, took time to get to know him, and the carers catered for all his needs and requests - such a constant supply of cold milk. He was treated with the utmost dignity, and they did everything to make his passing comfortable, such compassion shown by the nurses and manager to my sister and me too - on what was a traumatic day for us - thank you.
My dad has been living at Sutton in the Elms Care Home for nearly two years. Mum and I found the family meeting organised by the home so useful - it was a great opportunity to find out more about the processes and practices at the home, and how dad is cared for. It was also a chance to meet other families and share experiences, which helped enormously, as it can be very isolating having a loved one in care. I think these family meetings are a great initiative and will be coming to them regularly from now on.
When my mother first moved into Sutton In The Elms she was in a pretty bad way. She settled in and due to the care of the manager and the team, is thriving. Always smiling, happy and content. She gets her hair and nails done, is always clean and her spark and character are back. I regularly join her and her fellow residents for lunch and am always made to feel welcome. Knowing Mum is safe and looked after is great for her but also for us, her family and friends. The peace of mind is fantastic. Thank you!
My father has been a resident now for 3 years and is very happy here. He has dementia and when he came to the home was very unsettled and unhappy, the care and support the care staff have given him have resulted in him now being very happy and content. His personal care is excellent and his room is always lovely and clean. The staff are always lovely and friendly and love telling me the stories he has told them when they sit with him. He also loves the food there and they always offer him extra pudding which he loves. All round a lovely place and my father is very happy there which is a relief for our family.
When wishing to leave, I was trapped behind a fire door and lift, I did not have the codes for either. Sometimes the wait to be let out was 10 minutes plus. When visiting my parishioner, staff sometimes entered the room without even knocking, somewhat undignified. However, the general experience was positive.
My husband came to this home from the hospital to be assessed. This has now been completed. I have found the staff to be very welcoming and friendly, but not very engaging with residents (apart from the activities organiser). Also, very little information from management (unless we have to enquire ourselves). Otherwise, a pleasant, if expensive home.
My father has been a resident at Sutton in the Elms since April 2023 after a second stay in the hospital. All of the staff are friendly and show compassion; we are always updated if there are any changes. The home is very comfortable, clean and homely. There are activities daily and celebrations for Christmas, Easter and Birthdays. We have been able to personalise his bedroom with his own possessions The managers, nurses and staff are always accessible and helpful. Most importantly, the home is a safe environment for my father.
For the six days of my husband arriving at your care home for his end-of-life care! Your management, nursing and caring support for him was above and beyond my expectations. You welcomed and treated our family with dignity and care, and really appreciated the way you kept us updated. We, as a family, thank you so much for making this time very special for us and will never be forgotten.
Wonderful, caring staff who go above and beyond with their duties and are always happy to help! I’ve always been clearly updated on any changes to my mum's progress and find all the staff very knowledgeable and understanding. Thank you to you all!
My husband was a resident at the care home for three weeks. The manager went out of her way to accommodate him and his needs. She made sure that he had a ground-floor room because he was in a wheelchair. Once settled I was very impressed with the care, support and response to his needs. The specialists were called in to assess his needs and the doctors provided all his medical needs. The manager constantly updated me on his progress, on what was being done and on every fall or mishap he had. She also told me the truth about everything. When he was put on palliative care, everything was fully explained to me. All the carers were great. They spoke to him all the time and as they worked, they explained everything to him. He needed a lot of care and every time I visited he was washed, dressed and ready to chat with me. They got him a special chair so that his head would not be in his lap. I struggled to look after him at home and was truly amazed at how well he was looked after.
I have never known a more compassionate and caring group of people. From the moment we arrived until the very end, without exception, everyone was so kind. I could not have coped without their support. This was probably the hardest point in my life, and they made it bearable. On behalf of my mum and my family, we thank you all deeply.
My mother needed urgent care following discharge from hospital and Sutton in the Elms were extremely understanding and helpful in what was a very difficult and stressful time. I cannot praise the manager of the home enough in going out of her way to assist me, particularly given the immediacy of needing to find a home for my mother. This level of care and commitment was also demonstrated by all of the staff at Sutton in the Elms who were always on hand to help and support Mum, who was having to adjust to being in a Care Home having previously been living independently in her own home. It is often said about any business that it is only as good as its employees and that is certainly the case with Sutton in the Elms where the staff really do excel in the level of care they give to their residents.
My experience has been very good with Sutton in the Elms Private Care Home, the staff care for all Mum's needs and communicates well with me occasionally when there are issues. Mum's complex and unpredictable needs are, most of the time, managed at a controllable level, I live locally so visit regularly to help out at meal times and get feedback from staff.
My uncle has been a resident of Sutton in the Elms for over a year now, and I continue to be amazed by the quality of care provided by them over this period of time. The very first time I visited the home, I was super impressed with how clean and fresh the place was and also the procedure of trying to combat Covid, which again I felt was maintained and managed superbly. I can honestly say that every member of staff goes above and beyond the call of duty of the level of care they provide, and they are always ready to assist with any questions/queries you may have. From a personal point of view, I now have peace of mind that my uncle is being cared for in the best possible way.
Since my husband became a resident at Sutton in the Elms Care Home, we, as a family, have been extremely impressed with the home. From my initial visit, we have always been made to feel welcome. My first impressions of the home were how clean, light and airy it was. The staff were all friendly, and nothing was, or still is, too much trouble for them. Any questions I had at the initial meeting were answered honestly - I knew this is where I wanted my husband to be. So in February 2022, he became a resident. His room is large and nicely decorated. All of the residents are actively encouraged to engage with each other, with a wide range of activities that are planned, which are brilliant. The food served always looks and smells amazing. The staff always keep me informed of any problems or issues with my husband. Personally, I cannot thank every member of staff enough for the care, love and support shown to us. Thank you, Sutton in the Elms, for welcoming us into your lovely family.
My dad was in Sutton in the Elms for around six weeks on palliative care before he passed away. We couldn't have asked for a better place for him. The staff were so kind and caring and often went above and beyond to make him feel better in the last chapter of his life. They would take the time to listen to him and understand him as a person. His dignity was respected. We were constantly updated by the team as to how he was doing and also felt involved and cared for. I would certainly recommend the home to anyone as the staff are brilliant and feel like family. I can't give anything else other than five stars. Thank you so much to everyone there.
We have found the staff at this care home very professional, very caring and give that extra we all want for our friends and family. The home's management and staff don’t see the residents as customers, they are treated like family, and that goes for all the staff; they are excellent. I would recommend this care home because that’s what it is their home. A huge thank you to all the staff and management alike; thank you doesn’t cover what you all do.
Very happy with the care my mother receives in this home. The staff are always willing to converse with Mum and attend to her requirements. It is a clean and bright environment, and the staff will always answer any questions or concerns that we may have. Mum has a choice of menu each day, and apart from the odd grumble, always states that she is very happy to reside at Sutton in the Elms care home. She especially enjoys the activities that are arranged.
The staff made me feel very welcome and are very pleasant to talk to and be around. They are taking wonderful care of my great-grandma. The facilities are always clean and up to a great standard.
