View Full Details of The Willows Care HomeMy auntie came to The Willows, after spending 3 months in hospital, almost two years ago, she was so very frail, that she wasn't expected to live for much longer, but that was before the team at The Willows were involved, she's now looking healthy, walking, eating well and is looking wonderful! She's just had her hair done, and she loves it, she loves a little pampering! Over the last month, she has been treated to a visit from a Shetland pony, a dog, magician, singers, and they had wonderful Christmas decorations with parties etc, the home is now geared up for Valentine's day! My Auntie always compliments the food, and always says how nice the staff are. So from maintenance, cleaners, carers, nurses, laundry, receptionists and management, thank you for all you do! If there's ever a problem, I'm always contacted and fully informed of what has happened and how it's been/being resolved, so I can be rest assured that my auntie's safety and health are priority. Thank you again.
We have used The Willows Care Home for respite care for my mother-in-law, who suffers from Parkinsons disease and with her mental health/anxiety. The staff are all very understanding of her as a person rather than just her medical conditions. They are exceptionally patient with her when she decides to become a difficult customer! We would definitely recommend The Willows to anyone in a similar circumstance to us and will be using the care home again in the future for respite stays.
I am so pleased that my son has settled so well at The Willows. My son has been through some very tough times but now regards The Willows as his home. This is all due to the excellent care he receives from all the staff, they all go that extra mile to ensure his wellbeing, comfort and reassurance. I am also grateful for all the support that both I and his brother receive from the management team and also the registered nurses and carers where any issues are dealt with promptly. In fact every single one of all the staff are truly amazing.
I wish to thank The Willows Care Home for the care that was given to Mum during the last days of her life. I will be forever grateful that she was surrounded by the best caring people we could have hoped for. She was constantly visited by staff in her room and exceptional personal care continued right up until the end. A special mention should go to the Nursing staff who spent time with Mum during her last hours reassuring and comforting her. For which I will be forever grateful.
The Willows Care Home has provided excellent care to my Father, The Willows are not just a Care Home it is a home that genuinely cares. All the staff spoke to and cared for my Father with the utmost respect and compassion. Our family cannot be more grateful.
We cannot express our sincere gratitude to you all for making my mum's final journey a relaxing and peaceful one. The constant care that Mum received was extraordinary and a special thank you to one member of staff, in particular, you have been amazing
After leaving hospital with physical evidence of neglect we were fortunate in getting a place at The Willows. In a short space of time, we witnessed a definite improvement. My husband seems well cared for and settled in very quickly. He was also content and more relaxed. His sugar levels were normalised and sores remedied. I am also relieved and happy that my husband is being so well looked after.
The care of Mum was excellent. The staff were warm and dedicated and they extended their kindness to family. Empathy and understanding were shown at all times. It was reassuring to know Mum was looked after so well at the end of her life.
My dad came to you from hospital almost 2 years ago as 'end of life'. However, with the care, compassion and patience from the wonderful staff at The Willows not only did he recover but he positively flourished, beginning to eat again and gaining weight. Despite having dementia, my dad was always cheerful when we visited him and seemed happy at The Willows, often commenting that his bed was warm and comfortable! When the end came for him on 6th November 2023, our family, when we came to say our goodbyes, were treated with the same kindness and compassion that had been shown to my dad throughout his time there. Thank you to everyone at The Willows, we knew dad was always safe in your care. Kindest regards
Mum and I visited The Willows with a view to booking respite care so I could take a break from caring. From the moment we walked in we felt so welcome. Sadly, before mum could have her respite break she became ill and went into hospital. She required palliative care and we were delighted she could end her days in The Willows. The home is lovely and well maintained. The staff are the most caring you could meet. Losing mum has been tough but their care for mum and us as her family has been a true comfort.
My mum was looked after at The Willows for four very challenging years, through lockdowns, declining health, and ever-reducing mobility. However, the staff were always positive, caring, compassionate, cheerful, and loving, and it really did feel that they treated her as "family." The decision to go into residential care is always going to be an incredibly difficult one, but moving into The Willows meant that my mum's quality of life was far better than it was before, knowing that she was safe and had nursing care and company on hand whenever she needed it.
We were always so reluctant to let Mum go into a Care Home but from the very first day, we knew we had made the right decision. Every single member of staff was quite simply wonderful and could not do enough for our mum. Even down to making her birthday special with a wonderful homemade cake, singing happy birthday and making a lovely fuss of her. The staff were all so lovely, caring, and friendly and went above and beyond every single day providing the very best care at all times. There is literally nothing we could fault with The Willows and we will be eternally grateful from the very bottom of our hearts for everything the amazing staff did to care for our mum. We thank each and every one of you enormously!
On coming to live at The Willows our grandson has been extremely happy and we are so pleased with how well he has settled. We have nothing but praise for the staff and management. Nothing is too much trouble for them and we are so lucky to have found The Willows, as our grandson would say, they are all spot on!
We are so pleased with how my son has settled into The Willows. I have nothing but praise for the staff and management of The Willows, nothing is too much trouble for them.
My mum receives good care from the staff at The Willows. I feel the care is good but it is very expensive. My mum does not have any nursing needs, her needs are social but there is not a reduced price for this which means that at some point I will have to find an alternative placement as her money will run out. This will be disruptive to my mum and I am putting this move off for as long as possible. The staff are very friendly and Mum is clean and well-dressed 99% of the time. They address any issues as soon as they are raised. It is a home-from-home for my mum.
A lovely care home. Dad had a fall at home and couldn't walk so went into a care home, was walking a month later. He now loves the food and staff.
My wife always uses The Willows for her respite care. The team understand her needs and recognise the importance of the balance between treating her physical condition and looking after her mental health. There is the added bonus that one of the supervisors cared for her at home prior to joining the team at The Willows. Knowing that my wife will be looked after enables me to get the full benefit of a break.
The home was family-friendly, caring and attentive. Staff were genuinely interested in the patient and helpful in the way they treated individuals. They also showed a great deal of experience when dealing with the patients in a very difficult time with lockdown and Covid. They did all they could in allowing families to see their relatives under trying conditions.
All staff very caring and attentive. Nothing too much trouble and will go the extra mile to ensure Mum was comfortable in her stay. Encourage Mum to keep doing her knitting to keep her fingers and mind active. Always made her presentable.
My Mum was in the Willows for 6 months in 2022. I would not recommend The Willows for a number of reasons: 1. Even after covid restrictions were lifted, visiting was not allowed at the weekend unless you obtained special dispensation from the manager. I found it degrading to have to beg the manager of the care home for permission to visit my own Mum. 2. The home were not sympathetic when we had a delay in funding due to an oversight of the council. The home began invoicing me as next of kin with fees of over £1,000 a week, saying they needed funds to 'keep the lights on'. The Willows made over £608,000 in profit during the financial year of this period. I felt there was no consideration re the stress this put on me to be landed with these huge invoices. 3. The facilities are in dire need of refurbishment. The rooms are small and grotty. There is a shrill alarm that sounds throughout the building almost constantly. I could go on but I have reached the review length limit.
