View Full Details of Evington HomePristine grounds, very neat and tidy, giving a very good first impression of Evington Home. I always receive a warm welcome by management staff and carers alike when I visit. They are very helpful and courteous despite having a busy work schedule. My friend appears well cared for and happy in the home. She showed me the December 2024 programme and there were numerous activities each day.
All the staff are kind, caring and professional. Create a homely environment for all residents.
I find the staff very friendly and helpful. There is entertainment of some sort every day. Everything at this home seems to suit my sister's needs.
I am the friend of a family member but live at a distance. The staff are brilliant at keeping me up to date with what is happening and work hard to ensure my friend is well cared for. I am always welcome when I do visit. The home itself is welcoming and I enjoyed being there for the morning worship. My friend has health issues and these are attended to, with the support of the GP and NHS Inreach team. She very much wanted to be in a Christian home and that remains important to her. On my ratings below, I do not know about food and drink but the survey wouldn't allow me to leave it blank so entered mid-range. It is not my informed opinion.
Mum's Christian faith is very important to her, and she benefits from the Christian ethos being central to life in the home. There is a large number of activities which take place on a weekly basis and Mum recently enjoyed a trip to a local garden centre. The staff in the home are very patient, caring and supportive of Mum's needs which is much appreciated.
I am unable to stand or walk so everything has to be done for me. Everything is done with kindness and consideration but I am slightly critical of the choice of food. It is beautifully served but slightly lacking in variety. I consider I am on end of life holiday.
Following our afternoon visit on Thursday 28th March to Pilgrim's Friend, Evington Home seeing our friend a resident, we are happy to give a review by way of appreciation. We happened upon a special entertainment Easter Quiz attended by a large number of residents who enthusiastically took part. The activities staff were excellent to the sense of love and fun in a great way. Our friend enjoys her life at the home and appreciates the variety of activities care and security it provides. We noticed a real improvement in her health after years of struggling on her own. We are grateful to the staff for all they are doing to make Evington a home which has a sense of security, peace and the Lord's presence.
Overall good. Mum's care needs were met. Staff welcoming, approachable and accommodating. Concerns raised about ensuring Mum appearing dishevelled and the wrong clothes being left in her room were addressed. Staff always sought to ensure any health concerns we noted were brought to the GPs or other health professional's attention. Worship services prayers at meal times and a Christian focus was a definite bonus. It was great to have open access to see Mum. As a family, being able to sleep in Mum's room as she deteriorated until she finally passed away was much appreciated.
The staff and facilities have been fantastic. They make my mum feel like she is a family member, not a resident.
Evington Home is a very special place with very special staff who give excellent care and show great respect to those in their care. They work together well as a team and make visitors feel very welcome.
I visit friends in Evington Home. They always look comfortable and well looked after. They have a very varied range of activities and a very good bulletin with photos of residents and carers. I cannot comment on the food and drink apart from afternoon tea and cake in which I sometimes participate. This is always good and well served, though I think residents should all have beakers, not cups as the latter are hard to hold.
My mother went into the home after a spell in hospital with pneumonia. All the staff and the hummingbirds have been so wonderful and caring with her it gives us the reassurance that she is getting the best care possible. The home with its Christian ethos has a calm and family feel to it. There is no doubt in our minds that my mother is in the best place she could possibly be in.
I visited the resident during the afternoon on the 13th of July. I received a warm welcome and was directed to the communal lounge. One of the members of staff offered to find me a chair and this was placed next to the residents. This action was communicated clearly to another member of staff. When I sat down, I noticed that the staff were offering the residents a drink with a cake or biscuit. The residents who required assistance were treated with dignity and kindness. There was good interaction between the staff and the residents during this quiz time. Overall, a calm, happy place.
It is not an easy thing to find a care home that will meet all the needs of your loved one, but we are so pleased that a friend told us about Evington Home. We couldn't be happier and Evington is more like a family. The carers are so caring and friendly to all visitors. We have been impressed by all the activities they put on for residents and this has helped my husband to settle in more quickly. There has been very good communication with all carers and management.
I cannot praise enough the caring staff at Evington Home. My mother had to move in at short notice, due to a medical deterioration. The staff at Evington Home, from the office administrators to the carers, cleaners and catering staff, have shown exceptional kindness and patience. As a result, my mother settled easily and continues to be happy there. My mother has a lovely room overlooking the large linden tree in the adjacent independent living complex. The home is bright, airy and always scrupulously clean. My mother enjoys walking in the gardens and participating in the many activities, both religious and secular, within Evington Home.
We have recently had to move my mother to Evington Home at very short notice for two weeks respite care. We were already familiar with the staff and the set up. The way that all the staff have dealt with it has been excellent and they have all been so caring, welcoming my mum with open arms. We are very grateful.
Evington Home is a lovely place. They have devotionals, church meetings, therapy dogs come in and many other activities. I can see my nan is well looked after and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Some staff are there specifically to talk to residents and interact with them. I would highly recommend this place.
I want to say a heartfelt thank you to the managers, staff and volunteers of the Pilgrims Friend Society Evington Home. My father/dad had respite care there in August 2022. I was concerned about it wondering how he would take it. My husband and I visited him over the two weeks he was there. Daddy looked rested, at peace and seemed to be enjoying his stay. That took a load off my mind. The staff were lovely to all of us. Having worked there over twenty years ago, this home has certainly changed a lot. For the better, I might add! Thank you so much for the work you are doing.
All care home staff always display a caring and friendly attitude to residents and visitors. I am confident that my relative’s overall needs are a priority. Sometimes there seems to be a little inconsistency with regards to my relative’s current needs and mood and I’ve drawn attention to how my relative seems to be feeling on occasions. Whilst physical care of residents during the pandemic has been the home’s number one priority, there was a slowness in flexibility to progress to specific individual needs for residents that unnecessarily prolonged distant visiting regimes.
The care shown to my mother when I recently visited was lovely. The carer showed kindness, patience, and understanding to her. She had time to spend with her and explain several times what was happening and why. She was friendly but not overbearing.
