View Full Details of Altham Court Care HomeDad was a resident from June 2022 until he passed away in May 2024 at the age of 98. He loved everyone at Altham Court and they loved him back - it was a real family atmosphere and a special place. Dad enjoyed the banter, loved the food, and felt very well cared for. The care that staff gave him during his time there, and especially during his final days, was wonderful. The family will always be grateful for this.
Our father was taken care of here for nearly five years, and the experience was overall very positive. Staff mostly attentive, and we were called if there were any problems. Good activities are arranged frequently and residents encouraged to take part. Everywhere very clean and comfortable with a lovely dining room. Food is good.
My mother has been a resident at Altham Court since the death of my father four and a half years ago. He himself was also cared for at Altham Court in the terminal stages of his illness, so I have had direct contact with the care home over a prolonged period. My mother passed away last week at the age of 97 following a deterioration in her condition, and towards the end, was cared for as a nursing patient. At all times, the care provided has been excellent, and Mum has been treated with a great deal of empathy, from all members of staff at Altham Court. Early in her stay, she was encouraged and enabled to participate in all the activities, and towards the end, the clinical nursing care was excellent. Of note is that the nursing team are very well networked with the local GP practice, enabling seamless clinical care at a very difficult time. In my opinion, the clinical/nurse manager at Altham Court provides excellent leadership by example, and the culture at the care home is superb.
Our sister went into Altham Court Care Home for palliative care in the last few weeks of her life. Her room was very clean and bright. All of the staff were very caring, calm and always addressed my sister by her name. There felt such a feeling of peace in the room and this was down to the excellent staff and their caregiving. The staff, on the night my sister passed away, were amazing to us. We can't thank them enough.
My mum was referred to Altham Court Care Home on 08/08/2023. She was given the opportunity to have a place here with her, sadly, terminal illness. I cannot thank the staff for being so caring and thoughtful for my mum. They all put 100% into caring for my mum. The staff were also so lovely to the family and caring towards us too. I would highly recommend Altham Court as a fantastic nursing home with all the care and attention given to their patients. Thank you again so much for the care and attention given to my mum. Also, the kindness they gave to the family when my mum sadly passed away on 26/08/2023.
My mum lived in Altham Court for seven weeks before she sadly passed away. During those few weeks, she received excellent care by everyone. As a family, we were always shown kindness and care too! The staff are great, and the home has a lovely, warm atmosphere. Wish Mum had stayed here longer. Thank you, everyone, for making our lovely mum's last days special.
Thanks to all the staff at Altham Court for the exceptional care they provided and for the kindness they showed Dad in the final weeks of his life. Not only did they look after Dad they looked after us too!
My dad stayed in Altham Court for approximately ten weeks. He received such amazing care here. Nothing was never too much trouble to help us with anything we required, advice, information and guidance. The care staff at Altham Court is like a big family which quickly included us. We will be forever grateful for this.
My mum went to Altham Court on September 9th 2022, sadly broken-hearted my mum passed away on November 25th 2022. We couldn't have wished for a more superb nursing home for mum to go into. Mum settled straight away. Mum was settled, comfy, happy, safe and very well looked after. We couldn't have wished for anything else. Thank you so much for looking after mum. Thank you.
Excellent care and support. Lovely staff and a very clean home. Caring, friendly, atmosphere and staff.
I never ever thought that my mum would have to go into a care home, but when her health deteriorated to the point where she needed palliative care, she was discharged from hospital to Altham Court Care Home. We could not fault the home and the care provided by all staff who were extremely caring and compassionate to my mum during her last weeks and also to us as a family when we would go see mum every day no matter what time of the day it was. Thank you for everything you did for my mum.
Having to relinquish the care of my precious mum to others was the hardest decision we ever had to make when she was end-of-life care so thank god we found Altham Court. The care she and our family received here was the best we could ever have hoped for. The staff were genuinely all so kind and compassionate and displayed such human warmth right until the end of her life we will always be so eternally grateful for. We were always welcomed day or night to be with her and staff went out of their way for her. Thank you all so very much.
When visiting the home, the first thing you notice is the cleanliness (no funny smell). The staff always speak and are helpful. Before Covid, there were always activities, and I'm pleased to see some of those returning as they are helpful to my mum because she forgest that even at her age, you can still enjoy yourself. When the weather is nice, it is pleasant being able to take my mum into the courtyard for some fresh air because sometimes the rooms do become stuffy.
Lovely caring staff, always responsive to requests, nothing is too much trouble. My mum's room is single-glazed and during the winter the windows are very drafty due to the fact they don't close properly. The staff sealed them with tape and wedged towels around the sill. I don't think this is an appropriate environment for a 90-year-old person. The room itself is comfortable, unfortunately, the windows are the problem.
When I first came here I did not know what to expect but the short time I have been here has been more than my expectations of what a care home was like. I cannot stress how wonderful all the staff were and they could not have been more helpful in every way. I ended up feeling as if I was part of a big family. I will always be grateful for the way I was treated.
It's good, no others to compare to but happy here.
Mum-in-law is happy and feel she is well cared for here. The staff are kind and helpful. They have helped her stand and hopefully walk. Food looks lovely and she enjoys activities.
Our experience of Altham Court has been positive. Since arriving the staff have all been helpful and kind.
Extremely clean and fresh odour throughout the Care Home. Well-trained and friendly staff always prepared to listen and help both the resident and family during visiting. Allowed family to assist with her eating at mealtimes which made her feel as if she was in her own home.
My brother went into this care home for palliative care on a Sunday. When he arrived he said, “it’s like a hotel”. He had a view of the courtyard which is pretty and well kept. His own toilet with basin and chair next to his bed. Unfortunately due to his already emaciated body with the cancer ravaging his body the staff at the onset attempted to whet his appetite with jellies, yogurts, and soft foods. He was with them a week but the carers took the time to know him, help him and care for him with respect up until his last breath. Don’t get me wrong they were busy, it has 48 rooms and at times if things got more than busy they worked hard at not keeping residents waiting long, I know as I sat with my brother. When he died their kindness did not stop and are prepared to advise in the procedures to follow. Kindness is their motto and it is felt.
