View Full Details of Eliot HouseMy dad began residing in this Care home back in September 2024 following a hospital discharge. He has Alzheimer's which is a horrid disease and really erodes a person's life. However despite that he has an extremely happy life in Eliot House where he is really looked after and cared for by the most amazing staff. He loves joining in with the variety of singing opportunities that's provided. He's really enjoying the Petting Zoo and has met quite a few different animals. He is always treated with respect and dignity by all the staff. The manager expects high standards and high standards are delivered and maintained throughout every area of this setting. The staff at this care home genuinely want to care for people and I really can't thank them enough for the warm welcome they always give us when we visit. From the bottom of my heart thank you so much for looking after my dad so well.
I am always full of praise for all the exceptional care, concern and kindness which everyone at Eliot House gives to my mum and to my family. They go out of their way to help and make every day a special day for mum and the other residents. I am always humbled by their attention to detail, their genuine care and thoughtfulness and very much appreciate how mum is cared for. Every event, however small, is always celebrated and made special to provide happy memories for relatives and the knowledge that my mum has enjoyed the celebration even though she will not have the same memory of it that I and my family will keep. The Eliot House family put such effort into these special occasions and I am so grateful for all the time, trouble and care that goes into making them special and memorable. Thank you everyone for everything that you do, you are all very special and very much appreciated. There are not enough stars in the ratings to praise you highly enough!
Massive thank you to all staff at Eliot House, we cannot thank you enough. Mum spent over 6 years being cared for at Eliot House Nursing Home, passing away peacefully this January 2025. Mum was always treated with respect, kindness, her needs anticipated and supported above and beyond that we could have hoped for. The Manager and all the staff are a wonderful caring team, and I came to regard them as friends, or part of the family. Mum's room always looked immaculate, and her clothes clean and tidy, thank you to all the team that took such care with this important aspect, we really did appreciate this. Thank you for your wonderful care during these 6 years, especially during the difficult pandemic time, we know that you kept mum happy and safe, I am so thankful for the many video calls that you were always happy to facilitate and which gave me peace of mind. The care extended to the very sensitive way mum, and my sister and I were treated in mum's final peaceful time.
Thank you will never be enough. I could have searched the world, to find a home for my grandmother, that provided the care and love she deserved. If I had hand picked the carers and nurses myself, I would be picking the exact team that took so special care of her. Her care and happiness was my one priority, and they delivered that tenfold. It takes a special kind of person to even be a carer, and it takes a super talented manager to pull all that together. My heart is broken now, but Eliot House made this one very happy, unforgettable journey. A journey I wouldn't change and will treasure forever. You are all in my heart. Thank you!
Sadly, my mother died a few days ago. She'd been resident at Eliot House for some time and in those years had been looked after very well. The care at the house is very attentive in spite of all the challenges that the less well residents present. It's well managed - food is good, activities are stimulating and access is never a problem. It's never easy to come to terms with the idea that a parent has care needs that one can't fulfil oneself. Caring is a skilled profession and one that is much under-rated until you see it practised well. I'm very grateful to the staff at Eliot House. My mothers last few weeks were no cakewalk - they would have been far, far worse without the care she received.
I cannot praise the staff and management of this home highly enough, My mum spent the final weeks of her life here being treated with the utmost care and attention. They all made what was a very difficult time so much easier to handle for the family. Thank you everyone at Eliot House you are all diamonds.
My father became a resident in December 2023, and since then, I have had peace of mind my dad is cared for and safe. The staff are excellent, always friendly and chat how my dad is, nothing is too much trouble. Eliot House is homely and is always clean, his room is always clean and tidy. The food is excellent. My dad is treated with compassion and dignity.
My mother visited daycare once or twice a week during the summer of 2023. Following a hospital admission, it became evident she would no longer be able to live at home, we were fortunate to be offered a placement at Eliot House. The manager and staff keep me well informed and I see at first hand during my visits the caring relationships they have with the residents. The home always feels fresh and clean, the food is freshly cooked and the menu is varied. There are regular events when family and friends are invited to join in with activities and socialise together. The Easter Egg Hunt was a huge success with residents pointing out the ‘hiding places’ to the children who eagerly gathered up the eggs for later consumption. Overall I am confident knowing that my mother’s best interests are considered at all times, she is comfortable and safe with people who genuinely care.
Three years ago when it became evident that mum-in-law needed more care than we could provide in her own home we had no hesitation in choosing Eliot House. A few years earlier her late husband had been a resident and we were completely satisfied with the high standard of care he received. All of the staff are friendly and approachable. The residents are treated kindly with respect and dignity. The building is clean and always smells pleasant. Meals provided are nutritious and varied. Visitors are welcomed and staff are on hand to give updates to loved ones. Mum-in-law enjoys the company of both other residents and staff, loves the food and is happy to live at Eliot House.
Mum moved into full-time care at Eliot House after previously attending for day care. Mum has been warmly welcomed into the home. The lovely staff always have smiles on their faces, are upbeat, and welcome residents' families into the home. Mum has settled well in their care. I feel 100% relaxed knowing she is treated kindly and with dignity at all times. Staff respond well to individual needs and they know mum's personality, adapting their care style to suit this. The routine is not regimented, mum has the freedom to make choices for herself. Mum enjoys the food and loves sitting around the table to eat in a family atmosphere. She has made friends and is no longer lonely. She enjoys the activities and trips. The home is well-maintained and is bright and stimulating for the residents. Communication is excellent. I access care notes online and talk to staff when I visit. I would wholeheartedly recommend this care home to others looking for loving care for their loved ones.
I am very pleased with the care my wife is receiving and all the staff and management treat her with kindness and dignity. She seems now to be settled into the system.
My mum is made very comfortable and is always in clean clothes. The care home only ever smells of good cooking from the kitchen. Staff and management are friendly and helpful, always having a laugh with my mum. Could not be any better place for my mum. Thanks.
I came to Eliot House from the hospital as an urgent referral. I have been cared for by all staff looking after me. The home is clean and does not smell. The room has an ensuite and a hospital bed. The food is cooked fresh and there is a choice of meals, it's hot and tasty. Nothing is too much trouble, I was treated with dignity at all times 100% plus.
My experience of Eliot House nursing home has been overwhelmingly positive from the outset. The care and compassion from staff is excellent at all times. They are absolutely lovely and handle my mother really well. I know I can rest easy knowing that my wonderful mother is well cared for and in very good hands. I am more than happy to recommend Eliot House Nursing Home, every carer is committed to their job and that speaks volumes.
My experience was good, staff were very friendly and good fun.
With my elderly father needing to move into residential nursing care this was a very anxious time not only for my father but our family as a whole, it is a major change and fraught with concerns, questions, worries for all. I have to say from stepping into Eliot House and meeting the manager and staff for the first time, we were immediately put at ease, everybody was so welcoming and clearly understood and empathised with how we were all feeling. We were given a tour of the home and everything was explained to us all, the staff immediately engaged with my father and explained how if he became a resident, it would be his home in which they worked rather than him being in their place of work, they stressed how important it was to them that dad saw it as his home, not a prison, he could make his room his own. My father has now been there for a number of weeks and absolutely loves it. His health, social interaction, mobility and general happiness have improved beyond recognition. Superb.
I am very comfortable here, care is excellent. I would recommend this care home. This care home should be visited by people in Government or someone in authority.
The staff work extremely hard at Eliot House always on the go and doing their very best but are understaffed like most care providers. The staff are approachable friendly and welcoming but as they are so busy you don’t like to bother them but nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The building is getting very tired in places and could do with some modernising.
The staff at this care home are brilliant and go out of their way to help the residents. They never stop working, doing all that they can. Like all care homes, it would be good to have more staff. This care home has just been taken over by a new care group and has already started to update the building.
Where do I start to say my feelings about Eliot House? This place is a little gem. My partner has been here for about three months now. The care that is given to the residents is the most loving and caring attitude you could wish for. These people are so dedicated to the residents, and the passion they show gives me 100% satisfaction in knowing this is a fantastic place. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them, even just to ask questions and also they are very supportive to us the family. Thanks so much to everyone for the love and care you are giving!
