View Full Details of Canwick Court Care CentreCanwick Court Care Centre is homely, it doesn't feel clinical like a hospital, it isn't noisy and bustling, it is a calm environment. When you walk in, in many ways it is like a family home and you are greeted with a smile by all of the staff. My mother is treated with respect, she is listened to and the staff try hard to try and work out her needs. We (the family) feel like we are part of the decision making and there is genuine of interested in her well being.
Lovely, friendly atmosphere in the home. The residents are all very well cared for. The staff are really nice and the resident I visit rates them highly. Also very nice meals with very varied menus and hot drinks offered to visitors.
As an emergency admission after a hospital stay. My family and I are very pleased with all that we have seen and heard. The staff are lovely, very caring and attentive, They are also very welcoming when we visit.
The care staff were second to none. My father was placed there after discharge from hospital. Even though he was only there for a just over a week, he was treated with the upper most care and respect. The administration before his arrival allowed us as a family to be able to see him without any issues or concerns. Whilst there, the manager and staff answered all of our questions and concerns, which allowed us to relax and enjoy the time my father had remaining with us. Canwick Court Care Centre was immaculate and easily accessible. They allowed us to visit at any time within reason, even late at night. The professional attitude of the staff was very good, at one point not passing information to someone who phoned to ask about my father. I cannot express the gratitude that my family has for the great service towards my father and my family. Many thanks to all the staff.
My dad lived in Canwick Court Care Centre for just under a year. He struggled to adjust to life in a care home in the beginning but within a few weeks, he was soon waving us off without a care. He joined in with all the activities (even bingo) that the staff put on and when we visited we would be encouraged to join in which we did often. It was really lovely getting to know all the residents. Dad soon became a big part of life in Canwick Court. Staff and residents all loved him and when it came to end of life, the staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for him or us, as a family. Nothing was any trouble. They did everything possible to make Dad comfortable and we were all welcome to visit anytime, day or night. We can't thank all the staff and residents of Canwick Court enough for all they've done for Dad and our family.
My mum went into Canwick Care Home until a home care package could be found, and was there for about three weeks. Mum had a decent size room which unfortunately wasn't en-suite. Mum was looked after by the very friendly staff really well, nothing was too much trouble and I felt that mum was very safe there. The staff were first class, always on hand, offering drinks and making sure that medication was provided correctly. It is an older building, however, the staff make up for this, my mum was sorry to leave them.
I really do have nothing but praise for this beautiful home and the outstanding team! From the very first evening when my stepfather first arrived back in November, we have found the home to be very warm and welcoming and a real home-from-home feel. He was always very happy with every aspect of living in the home and every single member of the team always went above and beyond to make him feel welcome. The food and refreshments were always very good quality and nutritional and any requests were always carried out fully. We were always kept up to date and informed of any changes with his care needs and we felt fully confident his needs were met at all times. I personally cannot thank every single member of the home enough for absolutely every little part you each played in ensuring he was well looked after and cared for with respect and dignity at all times. Thank you all so much again and keep up the amazing work you all do, you're all incredible.
My father has settled well into Canwick Court, he is being very well looked after and the staff have been very caring and helpful. His room is very spacious and he has a pleasant view. He enjoys the meals provided and the availability of refreshments throughout the day. He goes on outside excursions quite frequently and the staff are always helpful in making sure that he is provided with his medications whilst away.
Since entering Canwick Court Care Centre, our father was given the most warm welcome from everyone he met. The staff attend to his and all the residents' needs with care, respect and kindness. Dad has had a few times where paramedic's have been called. The staff have dealt with these in a very professional manner and even called me for an update on Dad when off duty, dedication springs to mind! The activities within the home Dad really enjoys. I have even caught him laughing which I haven't seen for two years. The food looks amazing, also in the hot weather through the summer it was ice-cream central. I truly can say; to the manager and all the staff that have listened and answered my questions that I may have had over the last few months, the chap who helped to place his art work on his bedroom walls, the cleaning staff, cooks and activities person and anyone else I may have forgotten, "thank you" for helping to give quality of life back to Dad, this is where he is happy, feels safe and secure.
When my mother first went into the home I was met with warmth and care from everyone in the home. At first, I wasn't keen on the building as it's not modern so the manager and staff have to make it work and they do. Anything I asked for was promptly attended to. The care for my mother was first-class and delivered with love.
Since coming to Canwick Court, my mum's quality of life has improved immeasurably. It is a place where she is safe and well looked after. The staff are very patient/resident-focused and go to great lengths to ensure residents are happy. The building is clean, and the food is good. The staff are cheerful and happy, which to me demonstrates they are treated well and fairly. As a healthcare professional myself, I do have experience in residential and nursing homes and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one.
From the moment we met the manager, deputy manager, the lovely carers and staff, Mum and the family have been shown nothing but kindness, care and respect. Mum could easily become agitated and angry but she has settled straight away. Mum is happy, laughing a lot due to the carers and other staff with her. The lovely activity coordinator provides so many activities and Mum is joining in. This is lovely to see. When I visited recently, Mum actually said 'it is lovely here'! Thank you to you all.
My mum has been a resident since 2021 and we are very happy with the care she is getting. Her room is very clean and tidy all the time, it's bright and warm. The staff at the care home are fantastic and can not praise them enough, what a credit to the home they are. I feel very happy with my mum being here and the rest of the family are. Excellent care.
Whenever I have visited, the staff have always been polite and efficient. My aunt is always ready to receive me and is clean and dressed.
Mum recently moved here for full-time living, we have found management, senior carers and other carers to be very kind and competent. I especially am impressed with the very lovely activities coordinator, I attended a 'mad hatters' tea party and loved it. The manager is very friendly and approachable, looking after our needs as a family too. Reassuring us along a very upsetting and difficult path.
The home is caring, supportive and I would recommend it to anyone needing residential care. The staff are wonderful and we can leave Mum knowing she is looked after and loved. Amazing carers, we cannot fault.
I couldn't recommend the home enough! The staff go above and beyond to care for the residents and fit with all their needs. They are welcoming and caring to all family - the place feels like home! We, as a family, feel happy leaving Grandma in their care because we know she is safe, happy and cared for amazingly!
Mum has been a resident for 7 months and has received the very best of care. The staff are amazing very knowledgeable about dementia care and genuinely care for their residents and their families. It's the hardest thing to place your mum in care but they have made it so much easier to accept knowing mum is in great hands and is genuinely happy there. I cannot thank the staff and manager for all their continuing help and caring for my precious mum so well.
The staff are caring and always have a smile and always talk to us when we are in the home. The management keep us informed as to what is going on.
Mum has been in care for 3 years and we have been extremely happy, generally with the care she has received. It is difficult to comment on some items eg activities as if these are carried out we are never there to witness them. We don't feel that care for the elderly is good value for money. This is no reflection on the care home but the care system generally. Mum and dad have lost all their savings to care fees.
