View Full Details of White Gables Care HomeMy husband spent his final days here and the care was excellent. He was kept, very comfortable in an immaculately clean, warm room and treated with great respect by the staff. All of his needs were dealt with carefully and promptly. My family and I were always welcomed in a very positive way and staff gave us time to answer any questions we had. We couldn't have asked for a better place for his final days.
First, I must apologise for not submitting a review earlier, I have been meaning to but just not got round to doing it. I know how important reviews can be when someone is looking for a home for their loved one. My Mum was at White Gables from November 2023 until March 2024. All of the staff were friendly and caring, always with a smile. My father used to visit every day in the afternoon and they always made him a cup of tea when on their busy rounds and took the time to talk to him too and ensure that he was coping. My Mum received the best care, she was always clean and dressed and took part in activities, such as making Christmas decorations, which she enjoyed. Sadly, Mum passed away in March 2024. She was treated with such care and dignity in her final days and we could not have asked for more from the staff. It is a lovely care home in pleasant surroundings.
The entire staff team at White Gables exude kindness and care. When I visited my husband once/twice every day, I always experienced smiley faces, patience and politeness. The nursing staff were both proactive and responsive. My husband was at the home for his final weeks, following stays in hospital. His palliative care was given in a dignified and thoughtful way. All the staff are to be praised for the manner in which they carry out their often challenging tasks.
I often visit my wife at mealtimes, because I still like to feel like I'm still caring for her. My wife is on a liquid diet. The staff check we are both ok. They often offer me a drink even though it's a really busy time. White Gables doesn't smell, it has pleasant gardens. The staff are friendly. Thank you, for looking after my wife.
The home is warm and clean. Staff are very friendly and attentive.
First 6 months, amazing. Since the new owners have taken over most of the staff have left. The food portions have gotten smaller, and medical care (dietary and medication) has been ignored or late. A lot of agency staff are here now and the care is not consistent. I had no tablets for 3 days because of a mix-up. No butter or cheese for tea so I had 2 dry crackers, unacceptable! My room is dirty too.
Lovely kind and compassionate staff. Very gentle and caring. We spent night and day with them by my mother's side. They showed us compassion and kindness at all times. Nurses and staff are all very knowledgeable and the home is kept nice and clean.
I can't fault White Gables which became home for the last six weeks of Mum's life. Myself and my husband were made welcome. Everything was explained to us, even the way the meals were prepared. They were very understanding with her and dealt with her needs, especially after she had a fall in the night. We would like to thank the manager and the agency nurse for the exceptional care that they gave Mum in the time she was there and all the other members of staff. The final two days were very hard, but our wishes were taken into consideration regarding the final hours of Mum's life. We were told that she wouldn't be alone in her final hours and she was also made very comfortable and pain free. Once again, thank you for all your care.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. They ensured we were all comfortable and offered refreshments during this heat. The home itself was very clean and inviting.
Fantastic care home. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Mum and Dad always look clean and well cared for. Staff keep you well informed of any changes to care or treatment. Involved in the care plan and all reviews. Can't praise this care home enough. Well-led team, from manager to maintenance. Excellent all-round.
My stepmother is very happy at White Gables and she tells me constantly. The staff are very attentive, not only with her but with me as well. I couldn’t be more grateful. The staff in general make an effort to ensure that the residents are comfortable.
My wife has been in White Gables for nearly four years and her care could not be bettered. Thank you!
I am very pleased indeed with White Gables - staff, facilities, meals and choice of meals and ability to try and resolve my wife's mobility at night problem. There were always to be difficulties with the ongoing problem created with the onset of my wife's Alzheimer's disease. Every effort has been made to make my wife's stay enjoyable, to the extent that she has often remarked 'I like this place!' which in itself is gratitude indeed. Many thanks.
My lovely grandad passed away at White Gables on January 31st. He had been a resident for about 6 weeks (sorry if I get the timing wrong). I had travelled from London to be with him at the end. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the incredible care he was given. The carers and nurses truly not only cared about him but also me, and treated him with the utmost respect and dignity. They looked after me when I was struggling with what was happening and they always talked to him and about him with such compassion. The staff at this home are second-to-none and anyone would be lucky to be a resident here or relative of a resident. Thank you to the carers and every other member of staff that cared for Grandad and me over the last four days. The unbearable was made easier because of the love you showed us. I will never forget you and what you’ve done for us. Thank you. We love you. Keep caring.
After having a bad experience with a previous care home, as a family, we were anxious about where to go next. However, I cannot thank the manager and all the staff at White Gables enough! We feel comforted knowing my grandma is settled and well looked after. The staff are so lovely and accommodating. Thanks again for all your hard work, it really is appreciated!
The care at this home is second to none. The staff are friendly and reliable and make you feel at ease. They have been great with my Nan all through the pandemic and have made sure that we have continued to have contact in these difficult circumstances. I would like to thank each and every one of you for what you do.
I cannot explain how relieved I am that my husband is so well cared for. The covid virus has caused so many problems for all the staff to cope with. I do miss him but knowing he is well cared for is a comfort for me.
The standard of care provided is extremely high and all staff are very approachable and friendly. I have seen a remarkable improvement in my husband's demeanour since being at White Gables.
My mother and father were both in this home. My father died of Coronavirus in April. The care is very good, but I find the communication a bit lacking. I have Lasting Power of Attorney for my mother for finance and her welfare but wasn't told that she had 2-tests for Coronavirus by the staff. Additionally, she has lost many items of clothing, and the quality of food has declined in the last couple of months. Overall, my mother and I are very happy with the care and attention that she receives. I would recommend White Gables.
I have found the care at the home loving and friendly. Any issues have been dealt with.
