View Full Details of White GablesMy mum came to White Gables 3 years ago, the care she receives is excellent, the staff are all kind and caring and will go out of their way to help the residents who live at White Gables. The home has a very warm and homely feel to it.
My father has been here since January 2024 and is very happy. During the 11 months he has had a few health issues which have been dealt with by the staff quickly and very efficiently. Overall my father and his family have nothing but praise for the manager and her brilliant team and would not hesitate in recommending White Gables to other people.
My mother is very happy, comfortable and settled at White Gables and has been since her admission in January 2017. Any issues that have arisen have always been dealt with speedily with her and the families best interest uppermost.
A fantastic, small but friendly, homely care home. Always smells lovely, always lovely and warm, always fun and laughter to be heard! I visited many care homes before settling on White Gables. Many have great first impressions but you need to look around the rooms and look at what is on the walls to see how connected the staff and residents are.
I find White Gables a friendly well-run care home, my relative has settled in very well, he is happy and has gained much-needed weight, company and a feeling of safety. The staff are all friendly and helpful, the home itself is very clean, welcoming and homely.
This care home is absolutely outstanding from the minute I walked through the door the staff were really friendly. It’s like one big happy family everyone is so caring and will bend over backwards to help you. The meals are great and tasty and no cheap processed rubbish here. When I got taken to my room the staff unpacked my bags and put everything away. In the morning they help wash me and get dressed and nighttime undress and put me to bed. I would definitely recommend this place, great food, clean and staff are so lovely and would definitely go the extra mile for you Great stay here and will definitely come back again. Thank you so much to all the staff you’re great.
Very disappointed with White Gables staff after my mum recently had a three-week stay. The staff was very unhelpful and quite obstructive. Laughed when I advised Mum was dressed in another lady's underwear. I felt there was a culture of staff having ‘each other’s back’ when issues were raised. Do not recommend it at all. 1. Greeting on arrival was very chaotic and not welcoming. 2. Mum was dressed in other people’s clothing, despite her own being labeled. 3. Medication found on Mum's knee? Make your own mind up! 4. Visiting times not conducive to working family members. 5. Staff were rude and very unhelpful. 6. Door shut in my face when I asked for Mum's unused sanitary wear to be returned (84 pads in 3 weeks!). 7. When Mum asked to use the toilet, the carer said ‘what again’! 8. Mum's clothes were crammed into one bag when I collected her and not folded and put in nicely, very disappointing. Mum is now happy at another home where the staff is helpful, happy, and kind and we get a cup of tea.
This was by far the best care home for end of life care for our mother we could have chosen. The reason being the cleanliness, the friendliness and patience of all staff, the food, the accessibility to talk about treatment, the support and much more.
