View Full Details of Brockfield House Nursing HomeMy dad moved to Brockfield House in April 2023. The care he has received from a dedicated and professional team has been excellent. Communication with the team at Brockfield is very good and they always have time to speak with me when I call to see how Dad is. When there has been an issue with Dad’s health they have immediately contacted me to provide an update. When you enter Brockfield you notice how clean and welcoming it is and the food is very appetising. I would like to say thank you to all the Brockfield team for the excellent care my dad receives.
Fantastic home, fabulous staff! Our mum moved into Brockfield House in October 2023. She receives exceptional care and is settled and content. All the staff are very professional, approachable and friendly. They are dedicated and work so well as a team. We feel the staff provide great care tailored to the needs of the individual. The home is always spotlessly clean and the food looks delicious! Activities are varied, interesting and good fun. There is always a warm welcome at Brockfield House when we visit and communication is excellent. A big 'thank you' to everyone at Brockfield House for all that you do.
My aunt was transferred a year ago after a very challenging hospital admission. She settled amazingly well, the team at Brockfield House have become like family to her and have gone above and beyond in supporting her.
My father started living at Brockfield House Nursing Home in August. He has had a hard time adjusting and has had some very difficult times. The staff have been amazing. They have treated Dad with the utmost care and respect and have always involved him in activities wherever possible. The office staff and nurses have always managed to convey any problems or difficulties with me. The communication is very good. I’m given time to speak to staff when needed.
My sister-in-law has been in Brockfield House Nursing Home for nearly three years and suffers with advanced Alzheimer's disease. Since being in Brockfield House, she eats well, has put on some weight and is always clean, which was not the case in the previous home where they struggled to manage her needs and behaviour. There are lots of activities for the residents, from football matches, if it's FA/World Cup, tennis, when Wimbledon is on, and at the moment, they're doing the garden. There's a fake tree in the lounge which is decorated appropriately, with the residents' help, for Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter etc. The staff are a credit to the home, from the carers to the nurses and admin and management. They are always pleasant, caring and understanding. We, as a family, really feel that the staff care about the residents; it's not just a job to them. This is lovely for the residents and makes it so much easier for the families knowing that the residents are so well cared for.
My wife has been in the nursing home for nearly a year now and I can say the care she has been given is first-class. I visit the nursing home every day to see my wife and see how caring the staff are to all patients.
I must say the staff are lovely and caring my husband is very well looked after always clean and happy. I couldn’t wish for a better home and I’m very grateful for all the love and attention that they give to my husband thank you.
My husband sadly has Dementia and we made the difficult decision to get him placement in a nursing home. Brockfield House is amazing. The staff manager and receptionist are approachable and nothing is too much trouble, especially as we navigate through meetings with CHC and Social Services. My husband is happy and settled in a lovely bright environment and we know that he is safe.
Everything about this care home was first class, the staff, the manager. Everyone was very friendly and cheerful. My husband was well looked after. The only reason we moved him, was the distance we had to travel to visit him. Thank you, everyone, you've done a grand job.
Since my mum has been at Brockfield House I have been very happy with the staff from the management to the carers. My mum seems very settled and happy.
My husband sadly passed away 4th June 2021 after spending 3years at Brockfields I can not thank the staff enough for the love care and support given to my husband and myself over this time. It is home from home. Staff work very hard at creating a very homely atmosphere. It has been a very difficult time these last 18months for all but the dedication given by the staff at this time was unbelievable. We were so pleased at finding this special care home. We will never forget all the love shared by all.
My father has been very well looked after during his stay. The staff have been excellent in their communication with the family and his day to day care. Very patient and knowledgable. Kind and thorough.
We found Brockfield when our father, with advancing Alzheimers, became too much for his previous care home. Although it was difficult at first to adjust to the more challenging residents, Dad was always treated with dignity, patience and respect. The staff were well trained to deal with all situations. There was a constant core of care staff and nurses which is a huge help in the delivery of specific care to individuals. Agency staff were only brought in if absolutely necessary. It was important for us to know he was being well cared for and was settled as we both lived some distance away. On the occasions we were able to visit we always found him well dressed, well fed and as happy as he could be. He loved the musical entertainment and they made a real effort for his 90th which will always be a happy memory as it was the last time I saw him. He passed away a few months later at the home and his end of life care was extremely good.
The staff provide a loving and caring experience for residents, which is not always easy given the challenges they sometimes face (all stages of dementia). Effort in recent year has been put in place to brighten the surroundings and garden although better use of some areas could be made, given staffing ratios are ok - again more consistent staffing has been secured in past year. It's about people, so the staff make it and they are once again led by a strong manager.
My husband has dementia with sundry medical problems. On arrival at the home, he was welcomed as were myself and the family. The staff call their residents their family and treat them as such, taking care to find out all their likes and dislikes. He is very happy there. As am I to have peace of mind.
My husband has been a resident six months now and I am more than happy with the care he receives. Three other homes would not accept my husband due to his behaviour, but the excellent care of the staff at Brockfield House have ensured he has settled in well. The very low use of agency staff means that residents are familiar with all their carers, who are very hard working, compassionate and show genuine care for the residents. My husband is kept clean and tidy and enjoys the home cooked food and entertainments. Relatives are welcome to visit anytime.
Mum has been a resident here for over 5 years. During this time, any concerns I have raised have been dealt with efficiently and quickly. Visiting is encouraged at any time and relatives are regularly invited to participate in activities at the home. Residents are well fed and cared for and when you walk into the main lounge, it is always a nice atmosphere with plenty going on. There has been a programme of ongoing improvement at the home and considerable thought has been given to making the home a pleasant place for residents to interact. Relatively low staff turnover adds to the welcoming nature of the home.
We consider ourselves lucky to have found Brockfield House. The care, compassion, and kindness shown to both residents and families are genuine and appreciated. They have every aspect covered, the residents are all safe, cared for and treated with dignity and respect. There are activities for those able to take part and entertainment companies come in and play music, it's lovely to see everyone clapping and dancing. We really struggled to find a care home that managed dads challenging behaviour, but the staff at Brockfield House were confident and made dad's problems seem minor. Absolutely amazing, we felt happy to leave dad in their care and it took away our worries about his safely etc. 10/10 for everything. I hope they all feel proud of their hard work. It's more than just a job to all the staff, they are true angels. Thank you all so much.
My mother moved into Brockfield early in 2017 with advanced dementia aged 94 having been in hospital for some months. Sadly she had very complex needs and passed away several weeks later but the care and compassion shown to her whilst she was there surpassed my expectations. The home was run efficiently and professionally with lots of activities available for the residents and a cheery atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and looked after the relatives as well as the residents!
