View Full Details of Olive Row Care HomeAfter teething problems and change of management things have improved but I am disappointed with activities and staff turnover in this area is rapid it seems. Current management seems much better. I feel the place could be more comfortable looking, hard floors and pleather seating makes the lounge not feel lounge like. Much personal stuff was sent to the home - duvet, duvet covers, pillows etc, I haven't seen this for a while. A better arrangement for incidental costs would be good, a separate bill sent out each month?
My grandmother has always been taken care of and I've never had concerns about her well-being. The premises are always clean and tidy and residents all seem to be tended to in a timely manner. My grandmother appears to be content at Olive Row which gives huge peace of mind to us.
I have visited my sister here for the past 20 months and during this time no need for concern regarding staff. Treatment, cleanliness, food, care, happy staff and a very good atmosphere with all concerned. I cannot fault it at all.
I am very pleased with how my brother-in-law is being cared for at Olive Row. And rate the home excellent. Always clean, good activities, delicious food, and staff first class. We visit weekly and the staff are always so welcoming, he looks very cared for and he says the staff are very kind. His health has improved since he has been at the care home. He is certainly being well looked after. He also enjoys the activities. I am very grateful to all the staff.
Since my brother has been at Olive Row, he has settled very well as it was his fourth care home, where his behaviour was very bad. The carers here are very good with him.
Brilliant home, helpful staff. Communication can be a little delayed at times. Words from Mum, "Wicked great home."
After a period in hospital, Mum lost lots of weight, became incontinent and listless. She moved to Olive Row in November 2023 and within a short time, and much to her relief, the nursing staff helped her to no longer be incontinent. She is back to her normal weight as she enjoys the food prepared for her. She has made friends and enjoys the activities as she finds them stimulating. Both herself and us are happy with Olive Row as we know she is safe, happy and well looked after. Mum actually refers to it as her new family!
My brother spent 18 months in Olive Row before he died last week. He was a difficult patient with complex needs. My sister and I have nothing but admiration for the care and compassion with which he was treated by the impressive team at this care home. Recommended.
I have been coming to Olive Row for years. The staff have all been very nice, always very helpful. I visit a few homes in Kettering and I can't fault your staff or the service they give.
My mother was moved here from another care home in Kettering because I was not happy with her care last March. In the past year, her care has been exemplary and I am very happy with her care. My mother is bedridden but is always clean and washed. The whole presentation of the home is spotless, the food is very good quality and presented on a proper plate and cutlery. Her room is bright, airy and cheerful. The home is always warm. The staff are very friendly and caring towards my mother and her visitors. The activities Mum cannot always join, but she gets one on one time e.g. nails painted, listening to music etc. I have no issues with the care home.
My mother-in-law has been a resident for almost a year. She is very happy here. I have no concerns regarding her care. She is always clean and tidy - personal care is amazing. The staff are great, always have a cheery hello, kind and friendly. The meals always look delicious, she eats very well. The entertainment is great, she loves to join in. I am more than happy with the care she receives.
My brother has been a resident of Olive Row Care Home for the past 18 months. He has complex medical needs along with dementia. I can visit at any time (it doesn’t matter when). I have always found the staff very welcoming with a ready smile, not only for their patients but also for family members. The nurses are approachable and make time to discuss how my brother has been. Our experience has been a very positive one with my brother well cared for, even though he can be obstinate and difficult.
My grandmother moved here from her home, back in January 2024. She has Parkinson’s and early dementia and needs a lot of care, like being fed and taking to the toilet etc. It was a difficult start at Olive Row, with my grandma being generally unhappy and not really eating or drinking and a few of her basic needs not being met. We as a family had several meetings with the staff at Olive Row, who always came across as helpful and pleasant. It did seem to take a while for the information to filter down to the people directly caring for her, however, hence why there was several meetings and not just the one. There were visible improvements to be seen week by week and I’m pleased to say that today when I visited that I found a clean, happy, well fed and watered grandma! And I am finally happy that we made the right decision in sending her to Olive Row. Thank you to everybody who works there for putting in the effort to meet her individual needs. It is greatly appreciated.
I have a lovely room overlooking the garden which I enjoy looking out. All staff are lovely and they treat me well. The food is really nice and I enjoy it. I wish there were more activities. It needs a second person as no activities when someone is off.
Terrible place, staff not got a clue. No end of life support at all. Don't send your loved ones here, find somewhere else. There are far better homes run properly with caring staff. Management are no better.
My father was sent there from a stay in hospital. I can't fault the home he's clean and well looked after. He has got dementia and he has put half a stone on in weight since being there which is not heard of for someone with dementia. The staff have been very good. The deputy manager is amazing. We are hoping to get my dad back home with carers as this is his wish but I would highly recommend Olive Row Care Home if anyone is looking for a care home.
My mum, I would say, hasn't been the easiest dementia resident - from me and Mum's previous care home. The moment she moved to Olive Row all changed. I cannot fault any of the staff, from carers, domestic, and chef to management. Everyone has a smile, and nothing is too much trouble. I can't sing Olive Ro's praises enough. I am pleased my mum is at the care home. She is safe and well looked after - that, to me, is everything.
Olive Row is a very pleasant care home. It is clean and in our experience well organised. The staff were very attentive to our parent's needs and were very patient even under difficult circumstances. Despite having quite complex needs, our parent settled in well and told us how much she enjoyed being at Olive Row.
Very happy with the service and care provided for my late uncle and have found the staff very approachable.
Dad is "fed and watered" and has 24-hour care. He is immobile and we encourage the care home not to leave him in bed - put him in his chair and put his TV on for him. We have brought in his own wheelchair but I don't think the carers particularly encourage/put Dad in his wheelchair from time to time just to get him out of his room. Overall happy with where he is but I think more social engagement from the staff may be helpful/useful.
