View Full Details of Longlands Care HomeIt is comforting to know that pops calls Longlands home and that the staff take such good care of him, it is his happy place. Pre-covid, on visits, staff have always made us feel welcome when popping in to visit pops. He returned to Longlands after a stay in hospital looking very poorly and dehydrated and within days he was looking so much better with the additional care from the staff. The staff are managing the covid situation well, although we cannot see pops at the moment the staff assist with video calls and helping him reply to our messages and any requests we have, nothing seems to be too much trouble and appreciate them keeping us updated with how he is doing and activities he has been involved with
The quality of care for my dad and the staff have been amazing. With the Covid situation, face to face meets are no longer possible, however, we were able to send a tablet over with a few of dad's pics and videos and we can now arrange video calls through WhatsApp. The staff are always helpful, making sure dad sees his emails from us all and sending his replies. During this difficult time, it's reassuring to know he is well looked after.
An outstanding standard of care provided and I am totally confident that the level of care and safety my father is receiving is excellent. Over the past year, he has been through traumatic times losing his wife and home yet the personal care and attention provided by the management and staff has given him a new life. Taking in the factor of his Alzheimer’s, overall the staff have persisted in reaching helping him to reach his potential in many ways and are constantly aware of stimulating him mentally and physically. Family requests have always been accommodated even though limited during restrictions of lockdown. He is always available for spontaneous video calls and his needs are met by staff during these calls, especially when he gets anxious or upset. I am very happy with Longlands and the high standards of staff/care reflect the caring attitude and personal sacrifice of the management team there.
My brother has been in Longlands Care Home for about seven years and has always been cared for very well. Nothing is too much trouble, especially for some of the staff who have been there as long as him. If I had to be in a home this would be my choice.
I wanted to leave a review about the care my grandmother has received at Longlands Care Home as I was so appreciative of the efforts made for her special birthday during these most difficult of times. She moved into Longlands a short while before lockdown and since being there all staff have been so kind and welcoming to both her and the family. We moved Grandma to a care home with reluctance but her room feels like a home from home. Her 100th birthday was in August and despite the restrictions of Coronavirus, the staff worked so hard to give her a special day. They made special effort in helping out with her dress, her hair and makeup, even getting hold of matching nail polish for her which would matter to Grandma! They enabled us to spend some time (at a distance) with her on the day, and treated her with such evident kindness and patience and following a recent stay in hospital sat at her bedside on return to the home when we could not. Many thanks to them all.
Happy with the way my mum is looked after. She seems very happy in herself. She is eating well and gaining weight. The staff are kind and patient with my mum. I am happy I chose Longlands for Mum and I would recommend Longlands to anyone, anytime.
My mother is a resident at Longlands Care Home. Both my mother and my family are very impressed with the care. The staff are very friendly and helpful. In my opinion, it's definitely the best care home in the area.
I would recommend Longlands to anyone whose loved one required residential care. The staff are always caring and friendly and always have time to discuss any concerns or queries. Mum talks fondly of those who look after her and we could not ask for better care.
Always find staff friendly and welcoming. Mother-in-law frequently talks about the staff fondly. They try to take the time to converse with her as much as possible. With regards to activities, I assume they are not taking place as much due to Covid-19, but know they were very good before. No worries about her care at all.
All care needs are continually met in a safe and very friendly, helpful environment. Mum is very happy in Longlands, everyone is always cheerful and pleased to see us and there is always a readily available update on Mum's welfare, both pastorally and medical.
All of the carers are really kind and lovely put all of the residents first. Very clean and food is lovely. Not a bad carer works about the care home. Would always recommend it for a family or older friend
My mum was in Longlands for 5 years she was well looked after and cared for. One negative mum passed in Longlands and I was very surprised that no one from Longlands attended her funeral I was very disappointed.
Mum stayed at Longlands for a week's respite recently. All of the staff were so kind, caring and respectful towards her. She was very well looked after. The environment is well kept, really clean and light and airy, with plenty of space to sit away from the main room if desired. Mum could have a cup of tea or drink at any time she wanted during the day. Mum's dementia causes her to be unhappy some of the time wherever she is, it was noticeable how well the staff understood her distress and supported her when this occurred. Thank you all so much for looking after Mum so well.
My mother had a 10-day stay whilst her shower room was refurbished. Owing to the uncertainty of completion date, I extended the stay twice which was done without a problem and much appreciated. I visited daily and my mother was clean and well dressed and generally content. The staff were very good with residents with a wide variety of needs and I was happy to leave her in their care. Thank you.
Mum has been at Longlands just over two years now with advanced vascular dementia. Her carers treat her with dignity, compassion and nothing is too much trouble to help her daily living needs, making personal connections with her. She is provided with a soft diet and is fed each meal as she cannot feed herself. An area to improve is in the control of mum's clothes as they do become mixed with those of other residents despite permanent name buttons being attached.
My husband is well looked after at Longlands. The care is consistent and considerate, kindness is much noticed. One little negative point - I feel the instruction book isn't always read by every member of staff eg. My husband needs an apron on for all meals, also for tea and other drinks. He always needs a straw for his mug. It would be good to be sure my husband always gets a walk every day.
I cannot speak highly enough about all the staff who work here!!! They always treat my Mother as an old friend who is coming for a holiday whilst we have a break. She is cared for extremely well and treated with such dignity. Some of the carers deserve a special mention, they are so lovely with Mum as all of them are. The activities organiser is a gem, there always seems to be something going on, and Mum loves the singers that come in every week, and even takes centre stage when they let her sing with them. It is so good to be able to go away with peace of mind, and come back refreshed knowing not only is she being cared for but the staff take the time to sit and chat with her as if they were old friends, and they always make me feel so welcome, and the rest of the family when they go to visit. You need have no concerns, the best judge is my Mum who has no worries staying whilst we have a break and loves all the staff, they are a fabulous team.
