View Full Details of Ashurst Mews Care Home - Avery HealthcareSince my husband has been at Ashurst Mews Care Home he has been cared for excellently. He is always treated with respect and dignity and if I advise the staff on any of his preferences they are always considered and instigated. The home always has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. His care is regularly monitored and any changes made accordingly. It is such a comfort to me to know he is cared for so well and as I'm a retired district nurse I have very good experience in this field. Thank you.
Ashurst Mews Care Home is home of very good standards and I would recommend it to others for their loved ones. I would also be happy to be a resident myself in days to come. She is very content and looked after so that when we visit she's content and positive and the staff are always caring and courteous.
The care given to my mum from the day she entered Ashurst to the end of her life was exceptional. Mum was so happy and always expressed that she made the right decision to move from her bungalow to Ashurst where she felt safe and cared for. New friendships with other residents brightened her days eradicating the loneliness felt when living on her own with reduced mobility and following the COVID lockdown her loss of confidence to return to her social groups. All the staff were friendly and attentive to both mum and the extended family when visiting. Words do not seem enough I will forever be thankful for the excellent care given and will always pass on my recommendation to people considering care.
The building is clean, modern yet homely. The assessment process was clear and efficient and the manager showed genuine concern for Mum's well-being. Upon admission, preparing Mum's room with flowers and her personal belongings made it feel like home from home. At a time of stress and sadness when difficult decisions have to be made, we were made to feel welcome and supported. I am highly satisfied with the provision of supervision, safety and emotional support (and food!). I had initially worried that this kind of establishment could be overly corporate, but have been impressed by the genuine empathy and interest from everybody in getting to know Mum as an individual. I am confident that Mum is receiving the best possible care and attention. It has been a massive relief to be able to leave Mum in the care of the fantastic Ashurst Mews team, across the spectrum from management to maintenance, and to begin to feel like I am her daughter again rather than her carer.
During his five months in Ashurst my husband was always made as comfortable as possible. After a three week stay in hospital in April and May, he was very relieved to return to a familiar room and to be greeted by the staff he knew and trusted. They continued to care for him with exceptional dedication and compassion.
Ashurst Mews is a lovely care home where my mum feels very much at home and completely safe. I can't speak highly enough of the staff who are fantastic to Mum and the family members who visit. I feel completely confident in their care for her.
My Mother-in-law entered Ashurst Mews six months ago after numerous falls put her in danger at home. In that time she has settled, built up her weight to a satisfactory level, and improved in every way. Without exception the staff have been wonderful with her, treating her with the utmost compassion and care. They are all very patient and kind, giving her lots of confidence, the quality and choice of meals is extremely good. The home is a very welcoming place to residents and visitors.
Ashurst Mews is a friendly, welcoming home, where the residents always seem happy and engaged in something fun and enjoyable and the staff invite you in with a smile. Residents are offered home-cooked food and baked goods throughout the day, which always makes me jealous! There's always something going on and the community is regularly welcomed to join in with various events. The staff get involved with dancing and singing along when there's music, or dressing up for themed events and it brings a lovely atmosphere to the home.
My mother entered the home at 98 years of age after a fall. She had slight dementia ' a forgettery, not a memory' she jokingly called it. On her own, she became increasingly anxious even with daily carers and knew she could no longer manage. This anxiety vanished within a week or two of entering the home when a carer sat with her for 2 or 3 nights until she fell asleep. She was bedridden for the last 15 months of her life and was beautifully nursed by people who already knew and cared for her as a person. I don't think she had any bed sores. She certainly rarely complained of pain, only a few aches in her joints for which a paracetamol was sufficient. She often said to me that the carers were wonderful to her and looked after her so well. She loved the food...it was one of her last pleasures. She rang me once before she was bedridden to thank me for finding her Ashurst Mews. That is high praise! She died two weeks before her 102nd birthday, I am so grateful to you all.
My mother-in-law came here with throat cancer from the hospital. The care she received was so far above and beyond anything we could of ever hoped for. I cannot give praise enough for every single staff member and housekeeping. They made a difficult time for our family a lot easier. My mother-in-law died with dignity because of their wonderful care.
Fantastic, could not fault anything at Ashurst Mews. The staff, facilities, food and welcome were quite simply amazing. Although my father was only there for two weeks of respite care, we will definitely be going back. In my father's words, "it wasn't five stars, it was six stars. If only all care facilities were like Ashurst, old and those adults needing care wouldn't feel so frightened about going into care. All the staff we met, it was a great pleasure, and I felt totally reassured".
I found the staff very caring and treated my mother with dignity at all times. Would highly recommend Ashurst Mews.
I love visiting this care home as it really is a home from home for my mum. Everyone is super friendly and caring and there is always a happy atmosphere. Mum can do whatever she wants when she wants and is always treated with respect and dignity. The food is amazing and served in a restaurant environment complete with flowers and menus.
Ashurst has a happy, warm atmosphere at all times. All staff are conscientious, extremely caring and attentive, helping Mum settle and feel supported. The staff go out of their way to help and always keep us informed. The varied activities are so important to Mum and are always appreciated. The beautiful garden, spacious lounges and bedrooms are well-maintained, and Mum enjoys the first-rate meals. Many thanks, Ashurst, for the level of care you provide.
From my initial visit and tour of Ashurst, which was unplanned, to my regular visits and calls now, the greeting is professional, welcoming and warm. When I bring Mum back from an appointment or a trip, all of the staff make her feel so welcome and special - that it is truly uplifting and makes the home feel very caring. We chose Ashurst for its activity programme - things such as the arts and crafts, visits from singers and musicians, armchair keep fit, and outings to local parks have all been a lifeline for Mum - more, please.
Always a friendly welcome upon arrival with a good knowledge of the condition of the resident being visited. Security access is very good. Overall facilities and activities are very good. Personal care offered is of a satisfactory standard.
Ashurst made the last years of my mother's life as good as it could have possibly been. Care from the same loving staff year following year. I'm not sure what else you could want.
I manage to travel once a week to see my mum and have always found the staff and management extremely kind and helpful to Mum and to me.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming whenever I visit Mum. They treat Mum with a lot of respect and always try and include her in the activities. They always take the time to talk to Mum whenever they see her. Overall the atmosphere is very homely. Perhaps some more interesting activities could be beneficial to Mum.
This is the first time I have experience of a care home. It has, for me, been a very happy time and I leave with regret but I have commitments that I have at home. I have been treated with love and respect from everyone and made some lovely friends. I will be visiting the home and seeing my friends and staff. My son has promised me that he will bring me should I need to go into a care home in the future as this is where I want to be. Thank you to all for the happy time you have made my visit. With love.
