View Full Details of The Old VicarageSo pleased with the care that Mum has received since she came to The Old Vicarage for end-of-life care. The staff are all so friendly and respectful of Mum who has been independent until a fall seven months ago. Whilst she would have preferred to be at home, the home has provided the next best option for her. Thank you.
We are very happy with the care that Dad is receiving. The staff are very kind and respectful of Dad's needs. There is a friendly homely feel around the home as well and the staff are very welcoming. The food is fresh and tasty with good portion sizes. There are regular activities planned for the residents. The cleaning staff are very thorough and the whole home is always very clean.
After eight weeks in the hospital, our mum age 95 came to The Old Vicarage for end-of-life care, as a family, we were exhausted after four years of dementia caring, and on our first visit to The Old Vicarage were taken aback by the calm, caring atmosphere and wonderful, caring staff. My mother-in-law passed away after three peaceful weeks in a beautiful room overlooking the garden with the sun shining, a gentle breeze and the birds singing. God bless you all and thank you.
My mother was given end-of-life diagnosis in the hospital. We were recommended The Old Vicarage by a friend of my daughter. After an agonising couple of years worrying about what we might face in selecting a care home, we found The Old Vicarage. A place of sanctuary, love and care for my mum who was given a beautiful room overlooking the beautiful garden. She spent her last days surrounded by love and the best care we could wish for.
All the staff are lovely and very caring. Mum is well looked after and all her needs are taken care of with respect. I feel confident that if she needs anything the home will help her or let us know.
The Old Vicarage is a fantastic care home my mum was in their care for a short time and they treated her like family and respect and kindness. Her meals were fantastic and nothing was ever too much trouble whether it was for my mum or for our family, the support they gave us was remarkable. They also made my mum smile with the entertainment and the way they would come and sit with her for chats and cuddles, thank you all, we will always think of you all as our family.
There aren't enough words to phrase all the staff at The Old Vicarage Care Home. Our mum was a resident there for just over 2 months, when she sadly passed away. Throughout her time there Mum was shown so much kindness, nothing was ever too much trouble. All staff were upbeat, keeping spirits high amongst residents. Always organising activities, giving residents things to look forward to and making things fun. Mum also had her hair and nails done, which she absolutely loved, along with the yummy food! We spent a lot of time there with Mum and found all staff to be so supportive, not just with Mum, but to all of us as a family. We highly recommend this wonderful care home, with the most hardworking, caring and kind staff. Thank you to you all for making Mum's time with you the best it could be.
Excellent staff and service.
Lovely staff, good atmosphere.
My neighbour and friend is extremely well looked after here. She settled in well, the staff ethos is excellent - everyone seems to be very caring-natured people. It's a good, supportive, caring culture. The food always smells and looks delicious. Any health issues seem to be picked up and dealt with swiftly and effectively. I've sung the praise of this care home to many people!
Feels very friendly. The staff is always helpful. Aunty seems well cared for. Hair always looks good, something which didn't happen elsewhere. The food smells good though haven't seen it.
My husband has settled in well. The staff are very good and willing. Lovely grounds for sunny walks.
Lovely care home. Well run. Happy and hard-working staff. Nice gardens for getting out into during Spring/Summer.
Mum has been a resident in The Old Vicarage for over 3 years. She has consistently received care of an excellent standard. Mum is always treated with kindness and friendliness. This is reassuring for my sister and I and gives us peace of mind. Communication between everyone is also effective. I am so glad that Mum is safe and so well cared for.
My dad went to The Old Vicarage for the last few weeks of his life and was treated with so much care and dignity, we spent a lot of time at the home and was treated like family it really was like being at home. The staff were all amazing and the care he recieved was amazing, nothing was too much trouble. He was in a home previously and there was no comparison. I can never thank all the staff at The Vicarage enough, they made a very stressful and difficult time so much easier. Thank you.
My husband passed away yesterday after having stayed in The Old Vicarage for 3 months. I am of course completely distraught and devastated about it but from the very first time I walked through the doors there I felt completely at home and was comfortable because I instinctively knew he was in the best hands he could possibly be. From the onset, we were both treated as we were part of a family. The staff there, I don´t think I have words to explain how wonderful they are. They did their very best to make a situation that wasn´t very nice uplifting and constantly brought smiles to our faces. The Old Vicarage has been a huge part of my life, as well as my husband's, for the past 3 months and the impressions I've got will stay with me forever. I'll miss the people there and I will remember this time forever.
My mother has been living at The Old Vicarage since November 2023. What impressed us at the onset was the friendly, caring staff. We have not been disappointed, Mum is loved and cared for brilliantly by everyone there. From nurses, carers, cleaners and cooks. They know what she likes best to eat from roast potatoes to chocolate eclairs. Unfortunately she is blind and bedbound so not always the easiest to look after.
Very pleased with my husband's care. I come twice or three times a week, never seen him upset. He loves watching TV.
I visit my dad normally on a Sunday with my mum and find the standard of care to be very good and a laid-back atmosphere and not stressful for my dad. He always seems to be in a good condition and happy to see us both.
My father at end of life was fortunate enough to be placed at The Old Vicarage. What can I say about the home and the staff? Truly amazing. They treated my dad like their own family member and showed him so much love and respect. He was so happy to be there in his final weeks. They also treated us sons and daughter so well and made us feel so welcome. Honestly, all I can say is thank you for making my dad's time with you so comfortable and lots of love to you all from our family.
