View Full Details of Aslockton HallAlthough I am happy living here and find the atmosphere friendly I do feel there is something of a language problem with some of the foreign staff and this is particularly noticeable at meal times when being offered food options.
I have lived at Aslockton Hall for about 2 1/2 years. I am very happy living here and made several friends, my family live quite close so see them regularly which is lovely. The care is very good and the care staff are excellent and very friendly and we are lucky to have such a lovely garden which we enjoy. I would not like to live anywhere else.
Mum is receiving the best care possible from the very friendly staff. They are always welcoming and willing to do everything they can to keep Mum as comfortable as possible as she is an End of Life Patient.
My mother was offered a place in this home in 2020 at the start of Covid and was taken care of as well as she would have been at home. It is so well presented and spotlessly clean, and the professional care given by all who worked there, and many still do is credible. Unfortunately, when Dementia struck, and my mother had to be nursed continuously and could not have visitors due to Covid rules, the experienced staff worked so hard to ensure they still gave 100% care to residents and looked after my mother until they could do no more for her and she was hospitalised. I would truly recommend this home to anybody.
Mum recently moved into the home after being in a care home for over 4 years. She was very anxious but they took every effort to help her settle. All the carers are kind and helping her to build relationships with them. The home is cosy and very welcoming to visitors.
We couldn’t wish for a better home for our nan, the care, the staff, the hospitality. As a family, it’s such a comfort to know our precious nan/mum/mother-in-law is cared for from noon until night and more. The team at Aslockton Hall always go above and beyond when it comes to caring for my nan and the other residents there too. The dedication and commitment of the staff at Aslockton Hall, when my nan had a stroke, went above and beyond, if it wasn’t down to their quick response and 24-hour care I very much doubt my nan would have made the full recovery she, thankfully, did.
Aslockton Hall has not only met but exceeded our expectations. My father's transition from respite to permanent residence has been seamless, thanks to the unwavering support and exceptional care provided by the staff. As a family, we are profoundly grateful to have found a place that not only meets the physical needs of our dad but also nurtures his spirit, providing a home away from home that truly takes the time to understand and cherish him. If you are seeking a care home for a loved one, I wholeheartedly recommend Aslockton Hall for its outstanding commitment to compassionate, person-centred care.
My mum has been living at Aslockten Hall for a decade. She has needed increasingly more care during her years there. The staff have always been kind, informative, collaborative and very professional. The building is charming and my mum's room is always clean and tidy. The staff are very patient and loving with Mum and very accommodating of me. I live in another country and so our situation is very challenging. Aslockten Hall gives me peace of mind and keeps my Mum as comfy as humanly possible. I am grateful to everyone involved.
My husband is receiving nursing care. He has a very pleasant room, and the staff are kind and caring and meet all his needs. Aslockton Hall is traditional, warm and welcoming, and I feel involved with his care. He’s really enjoying the food!
I had to find respite care for my father at exceptionally short notice. Aslockton Hall didn't hesitate to offer their services, and my father moved in the following day. From the moment we stepped into the home, we felt as though the staff were there because they cared. They immediately drilled my dad in a lovely room and, over the next two weeks, took fantastic care of him - laughing and joking with him and treating him as a person. By the end of his stay, my father could communicate better and was walking short distances with little help. Myself and my mum could not have been happier with the service provided and would not hesitate to use Aslockton Hall again for respite care, as well as recommending it to others.
Caring, friendly and supportive. Food was liked. Parts are an old building which can be restrictive so not all rooms have en-suite facilities. Having an en-suite would be better. Activities were available and residents encouraged but not made to attend.
My mum came here for a short respite stay, and we were extremely happy with the care she received. The care team and all involved were all extremely attentive and the atmosphere was really cheerful. My mum was very apprehensive about care homes (her first visit) - but now she can't wait to go back: can't say better than that.
I first placed my very good and lifelong friend in Aslockton Hall for respite, she liked it so much she didn’t want to return home! In the first instance, I had dealings with their staff member in marketing who was an excellent communicator and a very caring, genuine person. She went out of her way, making sure my friend was happy and had the room of her choice. The food is home-cooked and the day room and gardens are beautiful. Towards my friends end of life, I found the nursing staff to be kind, caring and very supportive of my and my friend's needs. This is definitely a happy home where the staff are extremely friendly, caring and welcoming.
My father was a resident there for the last period of his life from December 2021 when he was moved from a very unsatisfactory home. Right from the first call to Aslockton Hall that was recommended to me by a family friend the level of service and effort to help my father was exemplary. My father had a number of issues when he went into the home that the staff looked into and constantly challenged various bodies where necessary, really going that extra mile to achieve the required goal, resulting in a significant improvement in the quality of life in his final years that I will be eternally grateful for. The staff there are friendly, lively and bright and engaged with him that made him feel like a human being again and he developed what became true friendships. I can only say Aslockton Hall is well run, clean and efficiently run establishment that also has a heart and cared about my father. A great team.
My mother goes in to Aslockton Hall on a frequent basis for respite. We always find the staff efficient and friendly. Mum doesn't socialise, she likes her meals in her room and spends all day watching TV. The staff are sympathetic to my mother's ways and don't try to force her into socialising. She enjoys the food and the variety offered. Also a big television in a certain position for viewing, we often arrive and all is in place to her needs. We have on a couple of occasions had to find other accommodations especially just after Covid when the homes were having outbreaks and could not accept any visitors or guests, but she always said next time try and get me back into Aslockton Hall!
My mother has been resident here since July 2022. We chose Aslockton Hall as my late father-in-law lived here for over two years until his death in the early 2000s. My almost 97-year-old Mother was fiercely independent until a fall (one of several) finally prompted her to seriously consider the move from her own home into care. The final fall resulted in her breaking a leg which in turn led to her needing nursing care. The staff at Aslockton Hall have been excellent from the outset. There is an aura of quiet efficiency about the place, and all staff (management, nursing, caring, cleaning, catering, gardening, entertaining et al) are - without exception - professional, friendly and welcoming. She’s established firm friendships with several of the staff, and has a lovely relationship with them. She is well cared for, and well fed (any establishment like this has challenges in trying to please everyone!) and her hygiene needs are well catered for. Well done to the team!
My father is a relatively new resident at Aslockton Hall Care Home. It is always a difficult transition from living in your own home to becoming a resident of a nursing home. However, he seems to have settled in quite well. The staff are all very kind and treat him well. We chose Aslockton Hall not only because it is local to us but because of the homely atmosphere it portrays. We visited various other establishments around the county but somehow Aslockton Hall appeared to be more like the home he was used to. He enjoys good meals and is looked after very well. We can visit him any time we like although sometimes he is too busy as he has taken part in the various activities on offer in the day room. Outside, Aslockton Hall offers lovely gardens where he can sit out when the weather permits. It's reassuring for us to know he is happy.
When my aunt moved into the Hall last year, she was desolate at leaving her home. Within a few weeks she was in her seventh heaven! She constantly tells me how lovely everyone is and that she feels incredibly blessed to be there. This wasn’t my first experience with the home as my mother-in-law was here for several years, some time ago, and also my mother on end-of-life care. Lastly to address an earlier reviewers remarks on the cleanliness. I have never seen anything hazardous to health! Yes, the carpets could probably do with a shampoo occasionally, and yes I have found dust in several places. I’m sure these things are all present in my home too. The fact that the home is a happy and caring place, in my opinion far outweighs any of those. What a shame the reviewer had such an unhappy experience which I’m sure must be an unusual one for residents at Aslockton Hall.
I chose this home for my uncle after looking around 3 homes in the area. Aslockton Hall stood out and felt like the right place for him to have as his home, the staff were all friendly and supportive to the residents and the bedrooms and communal areas were lovely and welcoming. The outdoor garden space is amazing and with my uncle being a retired gardener I knew he would enjoy going out. I would definitely recommend people to look at Aslockton Hall for their loved ones.
At first, all the staff were lovely, kind and friendly. But then once I complained about a staff member the entire English Care Staff turned on me and wouldn't speak. My elderly mother was on end of life there, and after complaining the owner threatened me and I had to get the police involved. The Indian care team are probably the best thing at this home, who remained professional until the end. In nearly 20 years of working in the care sector, I have never known such a dysfunctional home, and the owner should remain being a butcher because he lacks person-centred skills. The home isn't clean and I visited on one occasion to find vomit still on the carpet from the day before, there was only one cleaner who actually cleaned the room my elderly mother was in. No doubt I will be getting a letter from the owner but I have a Section 5 public order against him. If your relative is on end of life there I suggest frequent visits at different times of the day.
