View Full Details of Strawberry FieldsBrilliant staff In all ways, couldn't be more helpful they show great compassion the facilities are always clean and comfortable. The staff are always on hand to give help and advice it is so good to know my wife is so well looked after.
The care and compassion shown by all the staff is outstanding. Everyone I have seen has the intertest of the resident all the time and it feels very homely. The food is spot on, the cleanliness is great and the activities they provide are engaging which is not easy to do with dementia patients. My only negative is the standard of the building on the outside. It's time some TLC is given to a home that is so wonderful inside.
My mum has been living at Strawberry Fields for a few months now having moved from another care home. From the day she moved here, she has been happy and extremely well cared for. The staff are caring, and patient and work together to provide a care home with a lovely family atmosphere. My mum requires a lot of help with personal care and doesn't always accept it easily but her needs are always met in a kind and positive manner. I visit to find her clean, well-dressed, sitting in the lounge and happy. Thank you all.
My mum spent about 7 months in Strawberry Fields due to her dementia and terminal cancer. The care, love and support given to her and us by the Strawberry Angels, as we fondly call them was above and beyond! Unfortunately, we lost Mum recently, but her end-of-life care was second to none. I absolutely recommend this care home in all aspects, but mainly for the absolutely wonderful staff. Thanks on behalf of the family.
I really struggle to put into words how much I appreciate everything that the staff do for my mum and us as a family. They are caring, kind, and compassionate whilst being very professional, they have supported us by giving our mum the best care possible bringing in other professionals when needed. They all work so very hard, have smiles on their faces and go above and beyond to help in any way possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the manager and team Strawberry I will always be in your debt.
My mum had been in and out of hospital for the last couple of years and was offered full-time residential earlier this year. She has settled well and made friends not only with other residents but numerous staff. The staff are excellent with her and ensure she is respected, all her personal needs are met to a high standard, and her dignity is adhered to at all times. My mum can be a fussy eater but the kitchen staff go out of their way to accommodate her wants and needs. Her room is kept spotless by the domestic staff who respect her personal belongings. Management is excellent and very welcoming, which shows through in the staff and the friendly greeting to get when visiting. Overall a well-run, clean and very friendly home to stay in and visit.
My husband has been in Strawberry Fields care home Newark for eight months now. He has dementia and sadly I was no longer able to care for him at home. He is now thankfully very settled due to the care, love and respect that the staff have shown which has been outstanding. I also feel very supported and can visit my husband any time I like. I have a story which underlines the level of care which I believe was over and above. My husband was to attend his grandson's wedding. I got his largest suit cleaned and left it at Strawberry Fields. Fortunately one of the staff tried it on my husband. It did not fit. It was too late to go to the shops. I got to the care home in a panic only to find a pile of suits on the bed which the staff had been trying on my husband. Those wonderful, resourceful staff had phoned around their parents, grandparents, and uncles to find a suit and as a result, my husband looked wonderful and went to the wedding. Thank you to all the staff at Strawberry Fields.
Recently, my mother was admitted to Strawberry Fields as she was no longer managing at home. Although, this was an anxious time for us all. Mum is starting to settle in, and as you can imagine, this is a huge change for us all. I feel so relaxed when visiting Mum; she is really well looked after, and the other residents and staff are happy, and everyone has made her feel comfortable. I have no concerns and know that she is safe, which is so important. Thank you to everyone for all you do to support the residents at Strawberry Fields.
After being in a downward spiral at home, despite daily care, my mother has received a new lease of life due to the caring and compassionate staff and management - always friendly and helpful.
My husband went into Strawberry Fields in May for long-term care. The staff are amazing - every one of them is caring, kind, sensitive and thoughtful. The food is wholesome and plentiful. He has wonderful personal care but is encouraged to do this for himself if he can. I am always made very welcome when I visit him and can visit as often as I like. He has settled really well into the home and is happy there. He is safe, clean and well cared for.
All the staff at Strawberry Fields make the care home what it is. Compassionate, friendly, kind and caring, to put just a few words down to describe what the team is about. The management team is experienced and consistently professional. A care home is all about care and resident care is central to the ethos at Strawberry Fields. We appreciate everything you do.
The home provides adequate care facilities. Staff are helpful and friendly despite being clearly overstretched. Cleanliness could be better as often the floors are either slippery or sticky being hazardous, particularly for people with mobility issues. Some personal possessions are regularly misplaced e.g. laundry is mixed up. Some electrical aids have been misplaced/damaged to be replaced/repaired at the family's own cost. This impacts the resident's independence significantly. More could be done to help residents integrate and build confidence to join in activities provided and establish a daily routine, as a newcomer. Staff are happy to discuss any issues raised but more initiative could be taken.
My husband went into Strawberry Fields in January this year and was very unsettled and confused, and I was very upset, but all of the staff was so kind and patient with him and also with me. He is now a lot more settled and very spoilt. I would certainly recommend this lovely, friendly, home-from-home place. AAlways greeted with a cuppa, and the meals are delicious - well done to everyone.
My mum was in another home but broke her hip in July last year, and the care home she was in would not take her back as they said they were not able to keep her safe, so after spending four months in the hospital, a place was found for her at Strawberry Fields. The care there is absolutely first class from the moment you ring the doorbell to the care on the floor. The staff are all very friendly and so caring with the residents and with their relatives as sometimes the visits can be emotional and difficult. My mother, who I feared would never walk again after being bed bound whilst in hospital, is walking again and has found a new lease of life. I can't thank the staff enough for the care they administer and their attention to detail and understanding of dementia. A credit to the care system in these difficult times.
I cannot thank the staff of Strawberry Fields highly enough for the care they showed my dad over his last few months. He originally went in for respite, which was easy to arrange. It was clear then that it was the right place for him to be long-term. He was always happy and content, clean and tidy. The staff were always friendly and loving to him and to us as a family. His room was kept nicely. They provided for his needs and contacted us promptly if anything was needed. He was always up to date with appointments and care. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the home to you and your loved ones.
I went to see Mum before lockdown. She is treated with kindness and dignity by the staff. You can tell the staff think a lot of her by their interaction with her. They can have a bit of banter with her. Mum is very settled there and I'm very happy with the care she receives.
My friend is very happy living at Strawberry Fields. She enjoys the range of activities, food is well served and looks appetising, and her hygiene appearance needs are met. As her LPA, I am kept informed and feel included in her care, which is individualised and appropriate. Excellent communication continues through the Covid-19 pandemic.
The team at Strawberry Fields always show great care and compassion to all the residents. The has shown during the recent pandemic lockdown, allowing families to Skype their loved ones, holding a VE Day party and allowing relatives to call whenever they want to. Updates on social media and a newsletter letting us know what they've been up to is a big reassurance.
It is very difficult for me to answer because of lockdown as I have been unable to visit my husband during his stay, however, my experience on the telephone has been excellent. My husband has said the food is very good and he has praised the staff highly.
I am quite pleased with the care and adequate support that my aunt gets. The management and staff are always on call if I have a problem and always ready and helpful if there is one.
