View Full Details of Hazelbrook Christian Nursing HomeIt is never an easy decision to place a loved one in respite care. My experience with Hazelbrook Christian Nursing Home gave me peace of mind. My Dad stayed there for 14 days - bridging November 2024 and December 2024. From the first conversation with the manager, all of our fears and concerns were addressed. Their reassurance and understanding made me confident that my Dad would be well cared for. During his stay, my Dad received excellent care, creating an environment where he felt comfortable. Every single member of staff who was involved in his care was attentive, compassionate and always willing to answer our questions. Their kindness and professionalism truly stood out. Overall, Hazelbrook Christian Nursing Home provided a safe and caring environment for my Dad during his respite care. I am very grateful for their support and understanding.
The home is warm and comfortable and we are happy with the care my mum gets.
My dad is really well looked after for all his needs. I would like more one to one care if possible or days out. Overall my dad is a lot better than the day he came in, thanks to all the staff. The home needs a lot up updating.
The staff are always helpful and friendly, although they can be very busy. Nice garden space for summer.
When Mum became too poorly to be cared for at home, it was a very worrying time for us all. I have to say though, that from the first week at Hazelbrook Christian Nursing Home, not only was Mum made welcome but all the family too. We never once felt uneasy leaving Mum in their care and she was happy and said she felt safe. Her room was spotless and personal care a priority throughout. Staff gave Mum every opportunity to engage with other residents and enjoy daily activities. We visited every day for almost 8 months and were given updates on arrival of how Mum had been and if they had any concerns. I was contacted a few times in the early hours because nurses and carers had seen deterioration in Mum's condition and it helped me to rest and trust that I would be alerted quickly if necessary. We were very impressed. Mum's passing was gradual and peaceful and the highest level of care was constantly maintained. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Hazelbrook to anyone.
Having spent three months in hospital, my aunt was moved to this care home as part of the rehabilitation/review service provided by the hospital (once the hospital can do more). Although my aunt was only at Hazelbrook for a week before sadly passing away, I found all the staff to be so caring and considerate. It doesn't matter what the fixtures and fittings look like, a place should be judged on how the residents are cared for. I really feel that she was looked after well and with dignity and respect in her final week of her life. Thank you to all the staff.
Excellent staff, very caring. My mother was looked after so well, and I felt reassured she was well cared for in exceptional circumstances. Cannot fill value for money because it was an awful lot of money because Mum had savings. Staff were magnificent. Even stood outside the home as mark of respect on Mum's funeral.
This home looked after my mother many years ago and my cousin in the last few years. Many of the staff are still the same and show the same level of care consistently. During Covid they have excelled, always asking if they can do more and keeping me informed the whole way through. They have limited space but erected a place where I can safely see my cousin. The staff go the extra mile to help in these strange times and the recent sweet trolley for the residents was a really good idea. I would recommend this home to anyone for their loved family members.
We are more than happy with the care provided for our mum. Residents are treated as individuals, care and regular activities are tailored to suit individual needs. At breakfast residents can choose whatever they would like to eat on that particular day, which our mum particularly appreciates. Each resident has their own key worker, which is helpful to Mum as her care remains constant which I am sure she benefits from. Everywhere is very clean and tidy at all times. The furniture is well maintained and comfortable. All clothing is washed and ironed on site, which ensures that residents have their own clothes returned to them. Outside activities are encouraged when and where possible. Residents are able to sit outside in the grounds when they would like to do so. For Easter they have made Easter bonnets during a craft afternoon. Regular sing songs take place, which Mum enjoys. Trips to the library and book choosing takes place when possible.
