View Full Details of Mill View Care HomeMy Wife seems happy here and the staff are lovely.
The current support which is given to the patients is excellent and very attentive in every way. The cleanliness is top-class. I am happy to leave my husband in such caring hands, knowing he is being well looked after.
I found Mill View delivered a very good standard of care and would definitely recommend it to anyone. I found the staff very caring and very hardworking from the carers to the maintenance team. I will always have fond memories of my aunt's time there.
So disappointed in the care my mother-in-law recently received in this home. Residents are left facing each other in chairs for 12 hours of the day while staff sit playing on their phones or playing cards there is very little interaction with the residents. The rooms stink of urine and the sippy cups given to residents had black mould on. If asked any questions the staff don't seem to know the answers they have to check. Overall most but not all of the staff are just going through the motions with very little interest in who they are caring for.
The care provided to my brother in law since his admission to Rutland house in February this year has been very good. He settled very well and despite the fact that we as his family would rather that he wasn't in care, we are reassured that he is being taken good care of. There are a few areas that we feel could be better managed in an ideal world but sadly we don't live in an ideal world. The staff at Rutland house are worth their weight in gold and we are eternally grateful to them for the care and kindness that they show to our beloved family member. Your patience and kindness is priceless .
Excellent care shown to Mum who has been in the Albion unit for a good few years now. Great communication between staff and family. Mum is very well cared for, hair cut and clean and well fed. Daily activities to keep residents entertained and nothing is too much trouble. Staff are receptive to requests concerning Mum. They are her family when family cannot be there.
The staff are compassionate and caring and work very hard to meet the needs of the elderly people they are looking after in which is a particularly challenging environment.
The care given to my mother at Mill View Care Home has been exemplary. I cannot praise the professionalism of all the staff enough. The home is clean, well-maintained and easy to access. I have no concerns at all.
Love it. Always good. Genuine love and care for those in need and every one of the staff showing concern for those around them. Can't praise them enough.
My sister is being very well cared for and is treated with great dignity and kindness. The staff are very gentle and caring. They answer all of my questions and nothing is too much trouble. My sister tells me the food is very good. Her room is very comfortable.
My wife will shortly have been a resident of Mill View for 12 months. Both my sons and I are very pleased with both the care and attention shown to her during this time. She is very well looked after, and all her family cannot thank all the staff at Mill View for this. With regards.
All staff are very helpful and friendly and cope very well under difficult circumstances.
Generally, the site and grounds around the six various units are tidy, except Rutland House, where the rear areas are very unkempt. The footpaths are dirty and unattended and have become slippery due to surface mould and litter. The once-grassed areas are overgrown with weeds. The residents are relatively unsteady and cannot go to these dangerous outside areas for fear of injury.
My mum spent her last 5 months at Rutland House and we only wish we could have got her a place there sooner. A care home should be judged on the care that is given and we cannot fault how the staff looked after her. They took the time to get to know her and could immediately tell if she was out of sorts. You could tell that they genuinely liked my mum and wanted the best for her. My wife and I visited frequently and were always welcomed warmly. There were always smiles and laughter and we witnessed touching moments of care even when staff didn't realise they were being observed. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Rutland House.
My mother went into Mill View Care Home in June, this was a very upsetting time. She went into Albion House after assessment and I felt relief when I met the staff and knew that she would be well looked after. In July she had a fall in the night (nobody’s fault) I was informed in the morning and she seemed OK, but after some bruising on her shoulder and hip it was decided to take her to the hospital for x-ray and it would be quicker if I took her. I asked the staff who was in charge if she could write a quick note to say what had happened, but when I got to the home, Mum wasn’t well and straight away the staff telephoned for an ambulance. Unfortunately, we were in A&E for a long time, the doctor asked which home she had come from and I asked if there was a problem, he said it was just the opposite he had never seen paperwork with so much information. Everything they needed to know about Mum was on it, he was showing other doctors and they all said why can’t other homes do this? Mum is now back at Mill View.
Mum had been a resident at Dove House since May 2020. She was treated with respect, empathy and care throughout her stay by ALL the carers at the home. Her needs were met 24/7 and she had a lovely time living at the home. She enjoyed the garden and activities and the general chit chat from carers and residents alike. I would just like to thanks ALL the staff for their hard work and diligence Mum received whilst living there. Sadly Mum passed away at the end of June.
The quality of care was excellent. Over four years, never had a moment of doubt that my wife was in safe hands.
My Mum has been a resident at Mill View since 2018. Mill View Care Home comprises of six large purpose-built bungalows offering residential and nursing care. My Mum is a resident at Martin House which provides nursing dementia care. The home is light and airy, it's always clean and has its own garden. Residents rooms are on either side of a large communal lounge and dining area. The rooms are getting a little tired and could do with updating but what really counts is the excellent care my mother has had and that's worth way more than interior decorating. I feel that the staff know my Mum really well, what she needs, how to respond to her when her behaviour is challenging and which activities she enjoys. The whole team seem to have endless patience and genuinely care for the residents. The staff contact me if they need to and they have a Facebook group to share photos of activities and celebrations with relatives. I'm thankful and reassured that my Mum lives at Mill View.
Due to lockdown, I haven't been able to have a proper look round, but up to now I'm happy with the care Mum is receiving. I can however rate the covid pod. My experience was positive, lovely little pod, although not the same as being able to hold Mum's hand, it was nice to see her. Two members of staff, in particular, are excellent, cannot praise them girls enough, they go above and beyond and are really friendly. Keep up the good work girls.
My mum has been in Mill View since 2014. She has been cared for with genuine kindness, the staff are amazing. They perform a challenging job with a smile and good nature. Our family have been able to sleep at night and not worry about our dear mum. I used to take care of her and I truly feel they are angels. Thank you so much for all that you do. Plus the pod and testing is excellent, well organised and efficient. It's so wonderful to see our mum. Keep safe.
