View Full Details of Cameron House Care HomeMy Mum settled very well into Cameron House, made possible by the care and kindness of the manager and her team. I too was also made to feel welcome, and still am whenever I visit. Although not the most palatial of homes, that stands for nothing when compared to the level of care and friendliness of staff. (A lick of paint wouldn't go amiss though Rose-berry care, it'd sticky!). Keep doing what you do Cameron House team, I appreciate all that you do for Mum and me. Thank you.
My Father became a resident at Cameron House in February 2024. Unfortunately by the end of May 2024, Dad's condition had deteriorated so much that he required a specialised unit where he could be cared for on a one-to-one basis. Dad's condition meant that he became quite a difficult patient requiring complex care needs. During his time at Cameron House he has been cared for by an exceptional, dedicated nursing team, who have at all times treated him with dignity, and compassion. The home is run by a lovely Manager who would put down what she was doing in order to answer any queries that we had. This home makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door, and the team as a whole from administration, nursing, cleaning, and catering staff go out of their way to assist with anything you require. Thank You Cameron House for making what was a very difficult journey for our family more bearable through your guidance and knowledge.
My dad was transferred to Cameron House from hospital for end-of-life care after a heart failure diagnosis. Throughout the five weeks he spent there he could not have been better cared for and we, his family, could not have been better supported. There is a lovely, happy and positive atmosphere in Cameron House which struck me when I made a preliminary, unannounced visit. All the staff treated my dad with dignity, compassion and good humour. The nursing staff were outstanding and kept us informed of all changes in his medication and condition, and the superb carers also went out of their way to help him feel comfortable. The home is spotlessly clean, extremely well run and provides good, nutritious food. It has an "open door" policy for visitors, which was really appreciated as we were free to visit my dad at any time. I can recommend Cameron House without reservation and cannot thank all the staff enough for their kindness.
My mum has been a resident at Cameron House since August 2023. She was very distressed to be there initially, due to the onset on dementia. The staff worked hard to settle her and make her feel welcome and comfortable. The staff are lovely, very caring and professional. They have taken time to get to know her and help her with all her care needs. The home is well run and managed and any issues I have had, albeit small things, have been addressed promptly. I feel reassured that all the residents receive the care attention they need and deserve.
My mum has dementia but still likes to feel independent, and the carers know this and abide by Mum's wishes. The carers are very understanding of her/everyones needs. On entering Cameron House, you feel welcome, and there are plenty of carers helping everyone. On the numerous times I have visited, I have felt a warm and caring atmosphere, plus plenty of activities for the residents.
My Dad has been in the care home for two years now and the staff are lovely, very caring and professional, they have got to know him very well and do their best to make his day brighter. The home is well run and managed and follows policies and procedures correctly. I know that dad is in very good hands.
Our mum has been a resident since July 2023. This is my first care home experience. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The care of our mum has been good and consistent. Any issues we raised initially about care were addressed and managed thereafter.
Excellent, outstanding staff. Patients are well looked after. First-class treatment.
Mum has been here about two months and I am very happy with the standard of care she receives. All staff seem to be aware of her needs and help her accordingly. This appears to be a well-run and caring establishment.
Staff are always pleasant and very attentive to my mother. Whenever I need information about Mum's health and welfare, they are always obliging.
Staff and management have been very good in catering and sorting out my partner's needs and things done as soon as possible. The food has been good and he has not been over-faced. Staff are all very pleasant and say hello as soon as they see you.
My mother was, unfortunately, the victim of a bilateral stroke leaving her unable to lead an unassisted life. The care that she received for her four-year stay at Cameron House was exceptional, in the time she was a resident my mother was unable to do anything for herself resulting in her requiring 24-hour care by the diligent and hardworking staff. My mother never once had bed sores or respiratory illness during her time here which my family are eternally grateful for. Thank you all at Cameron house.
I had not been to visit for over a year due to Covid. Before I saw my grandmother I was briefed by the manager who kindly told me what to expect, this was a great help and prepared me. When I went in my grandmother was propped up in bed, very comfortable and clean and tidy, washed and hair brushed. The staff are all very kind and caring, there is a good standard of care. The home is always clean and smells nice. The manager and office staff always explain and pass on information. The nurse is a lovely, caring person.
This care home is very thorough in how they care for my mother. I can find no fault of any kind with them.
Since my mother's admittance into the care home we have been extremely pleased with the care she is receiving and she seems very happy.
My mother has lived in this care home now for almost 5-years and has been able to feel at ease that she is being looked after, taken care of the best she can be with the different stages of her condition as deteriorated. It's been nice to be able to feel I could voice my concerns as they have arisen and have been dealt with satisfactory. Over time built a rapport of mutual respect with one another.
My father came to Cameron House from hospital in early September 2020 having been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, this on top of existing lung, liver and bowel cancer. He had been given three months to live. Dad was given a newly decorated ground floor en-suite room at the back with a good view of the garden which helped cheer him up somewhat. As he was put on the 'end of life pathway' my wife and I were allowed to visit (wearing suitable PPE of course). All the staff from the manager downwards were very welcoming to us and were always available to answer questions and put our minds at rest regarding Dad's care. We cannot thank them enough for their wonderful, compassionate care of dad during the difficult final two months of his life.
Dad spent the last year of his life at Cameron House after having a stroke. The care from the nursing team has been excellent. We could not have chosen a better place for him to be. The atmosphere is warm and full of life. The manager, nursing and admin staff are all professional, caring, approachable and treated dad with respect and dignity as an individual. All the family and friends were welcomed and communicated with. What an amazing team, I cannot thank them enough.
An excellent caring service looking after my frail mother. All the staff are so friendly and always helping patients. Well done to you all.
The care and kindness shown to my wife at Cameron House were all you would wish for yourself. The staff were so helpful, not only to my wife bit to all my family. Nursing expertise was always there at all times. If I had to go into a care home, I would choose Cameron House.
