View Full Details of Averill House Care HomeMy wife was referred to Averill House from the hospital for care and assessment. The home was comfortable and modern and the rooms were clean and pleasant. I found the staff very friendly and very approachable concerning my wife's care. The food was good and the puddings were exceptional! Even though my wife was only here for a couple of months I feel she received excellent care and service.
I visit multiple times a week to see my grandmother and have done so for several months. I was frightened of my grandmother's placement originally on short notice but I've come to find that Averill House is very pleasant. The staff are all brilliant and friendly. It is clear that there is a genuine level of care and consideration put into this home by the members of staff. From the moment I walk into the door, I see staff helping residents and interacting. It's heartwarming to see. They interact with visitors just as well. It is clean and tidy and nothing is too much trouble for them if you have a concern or request. Recently a manager has also come who has been absolutely brilliant from the start. So welcoming and friendly that I felt it deserved recognition. I want to thank all staff for all that they do on a daily basis for these residents. It has made me feel so much better for my grandmother and I am able to relax with confidence when I am not around. We want to stay!
The care the staff gives to patients is exemplary, Very satisfied, and also keep the family members informed of any slight changes in our loved ones. The staff are always very approachable and very pleasant with our Dad and family members. Always plenty of food choices.
My Mother has been in the care home for approx 2 years now. In this time I have found she has been happy in herself and well cared for. She recently broke her hip and I have to say she has been looked after and cared for in a most dignified and respectful and looking way. Keep up the good work Averill House. The deputy manager and her staff have done their utmost to make her as comfortable as possible.
This is heaven to me being here. Love being here. Love the staff - love you all.
First visit to the home yesterday to see our brother and was delighted to see how happy and well he is doing since arriving here. The staff we met are amazing and kind not just to my brother but to all the residents. One staff member was so kind and helpful to my brother and both myself and my sister.
The care provided by the team at Averill House Care Home is outstanding. They create a fun and compassionate environment in what can sometimes be very challenging circumstances. I, and my family, are so grateful to them all for the kind care that has been provided for my mum. Thank you.
I cannot praise the manager and her team enough, for the love, care and support that they have given to my lovely dad. They rescued us in our hour of need, and have given my dad a clean, safe and caring environment in which to live. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
My dear mother was a resident there during which time the standard of care was very poor. The treatment my mother received by the nursing staff was questionable and very dangerous. She administered drugs when it was absolutely not needed. I was attacked by a long-term mental health resident and had to defend myself, after which I was told that this is the way things are there and to remove my mother if I did not comply and accept it. My mother was left alone for long periods of time unattended many times. I had visited to find my mother dangerously falling out of bed, left in her own excrement for long periods of time, lack of encouragement to eat and drink. No support from management to nursing staff on down for family members. Truth of attacks I suffered had been falsified and lies told to cover their own backs. My mother being denied the proper care and treatment she deserved whilst being there. This led to my mother being admitted to the hospital because of it.
My husband was a resident here for a year. The team treated him with kindness and respect. They delivered excellent care throughout his time at Averil House Care Home. He was always clean and tidy and well fed. He told me how kind the staff were to him and as a family, we appreciate all the support they have not only for my husband but for us as well. Thank you to all the team for your love and respect.
The standard of care that my later mother received during her eight years stay at Averril house was outstanding, Not only did the staff care and support my mother they also, supported my father during his frequent visits to the care home. My family and I are very grateful to the staff, for how they cared for our parents in such a professional and caring manner.
Very poor communication over the phone during Covid. They couldn’t even transfer a SIM card from one phone to another. I had to go and change the SIM card myself five days later during Covid. I have found a letter from when my mum was discharged from hospital to Averill House stating what medications Mum was on. They failed to give the medication to Mum. When I visited over Covid to see Mum there was a staff member present throughout. Felt like the visit was being assessed throughout.
I have had nothing but a great experience of my time here and will take a lot of good memories of my time here. The staff are great and will do anything to make you happy, plus they are very friendly and easy to talk to. The rooms are clean and warm.
Clean, staff are generally nice although I get Mum new clothes and the next visit she's wearing clothes that aren't hers.
Staff always very friendly and helpful whenever I have visited my auntie. She is happy and well cared for at Averill House. The staff always inform me of what she has been doing or what she needs. They do an amazing job. I am very grateful to them all.
Great home, lovely staff. They are very helpful and have a great relationship with my grandma.
Our Aunt has much improved since transferring to Averill House after a hospital stay. Her medical conditions are much better managed and her engagement and energy levels are much better. We are pleased that she now has a permanent place.
Jodie yates Hess of activities honestly makes this care home a staple !! She is a credit to hc one with her hard work dedication I have volunteered for Jodie and as my partner ! I donated at the Christmas party and she was always busy working making the home look and feel amazing ! She’s always active locally in failsworth and honestly deserves more credit where it’s due ????????
My friend was a resident at Averill House Care Home. Unfortunately, she passed away during the pandemic, due to complications with Parkinson’s Disease. She was cared for and comfortable and was grateful for the social and creative activities. Along with this, I was a volunteer at a local food bank during the covid period and know how hard the staff worked throughout this difficult time. Abiding by all the restrictions and many staff themselves succumbing to covid, made life stressful for all concerned. Yet they gave their time and energy to keep morale up and to continue caring for their clients.
Dad was admitted to Averill House for 6 week period of assessment. Because of Covid restrictions, I didn't ever go inside, but any questions or concerns were handled immediately and professionally. The staff could always tell me how he was and how he was doing when we telephoned. It was my first experience of a care home and I was happy with the home and overall I would say the experience for dad was a positive one.
