View Full Details of Brocklehurst Nursing HomeMy brother lives here and I've been very impressed with it. The staff are amazing, so caring and kind to my brother. The food is excellent and he really enjoys his full English breakfast and other meals provided. The home is well-organised, great manager and is always spotlessly clean. The layout of the building is great and unlike other homes I've been to. Each area has its own small lounge which makes it feel less overwhelming. My brother feels settled and when we visit, it feels like a family. The events put on at Christmas, Easter, Halloween parties etc. are excellent. They make such an effort and my brother enjoys them. The only downside is the lack of activities, they have struggled to find an activities organiser and this is a real shame as they definitely need more daily activities for the residents.
While my father has been at Brocklehurst Nursing Home, he has shown great improvement in certain areas. This is, in part, due to the care he receives from the staff at the home who are both friendly and professional. His mobility and eye-to-hand coordination have improved greatly and his general mood has also shown improvement.
My mum has been a resident in Brocklehurst Nursing Home for a number of years now and has extensive nursing needs. I have always found the staff to be very caring and compassionate and experienced in being able to provide the type of care my mum requires, whilst always maintaining her privacy and dignity. Mum has developed strong relationships with many of the staff and feels safe, secure and well cared for. Standards of hygiene and general cleanliness have always been high throughout. The home strives to keep the morale of its residents high through interpersonal interactions and regular activities. Friends and family are always welcomed with smiles and cheerful demeanours from the staff. I am happy to be able to recommend Brocklehurst Nursing Home to others.
Absolutely terrible. Honestly don't take your loved ones to this hell hole. Poorly staffed, horrible staff, obviously couldn't care less about anyone relying on their help. No one does any work and are extremely abusive. My mother can't breathe, end of life and they are horrible with her, holding back her palliative care medicine. Please don't make the same mistake I did.
My mum was admitted to Brocklehurst Nursing Home in July 2024 where she was admitted from the hospital I found the overall level of care extremely poor even though I complained to the manager on a few occasions. The staff were abrupt and generally uncaring. My mum had 2 falls during the first two weeks of her admission. Sadly she passed away there on 17/8/2024. I would not recommend this Nursing Home to anyone.
My mother was placed at Brocklehurst Nursing Home for the last seven months of her life. The care from all levels of staff was excellent - she was physically and mentally supported in all aspects and treated with compassion, dignity and respect and the caring ethos is very evident with a supportive level of humour and empathy. As relatives, we were welcomed and could visit flexibly as needed. I had regular updates, especially during palliative care. The food was really excellent and varied and there was always choice and allowances and he was fully supported and needs catered for.
I visit my sister twice a week. The staff are always very friendly and her room is always tidy and clean.
During the last couple of weeks of my mother's life, I found the nurses and care staff to be exceptional. The care staff, night staff, management and nurses treated my mother with dignity and care and regularly checked in on my mother to reposition her in her bed and pay their respects to her and out family and relatives.
I would like to say thank you very much for taking care of my mother, Special thank you for
What can I say but perfection. Every single member of staff, nurses, carers, cleaners, chef, maintenance guy, laundrette ladies, are all amazing and go above and beyond for our father-in-law's needs. You don't need to look any further!
My partner has been in Brocklehurst Nursing Home for just over a year now and I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else as the care she receives is excellent, the reception, nurses, meals, cleanliness, and the activities staff, whenever I go to visit you always get a warm welcome hello and a smile from the staff I think they do a great job, once she said to me "they look after me very well in here" which is great and reassuring that she's getting the best care there is, I can't praise Brocklehust enough and a big thank you to you all.
Our mum has been at Brocklehurst Nursing Home for nearly two years. She is very settled and knows all the staff. The staff are wonderful and the love and care given to our mum is exceptional. Relatives and friends are always welcome and communication is clear and timely. Thank you to all the staff for everything you do to make Brocklehurst a very happy home.
Great staff, doing a wonderful job looking after my mum who has severe dementia. I was worried that the move from her previous home, which closed, would have a detrimental impact on her, but she settled in quickly, thanks to the staff.
Excellent security, both in and out. My brother-in-law always seems clean and comfortable. His general well-being appears to have improved since arriving at the home. The staff are always courteous, efficient and have a ready smile. My wife and I are so pleased with his general situation. Shortage of visitors' chairs.
When my Mum arrived at Brocklehurst from another home, we assumed she was nearing her end. The improvement in her was almost immediate and she soon became her old self again. She had a connection with every member of the care team and each had their own unique relationship with Mum - which meant life for her at Brocklehurst varied as much as can be expected. The staff are brilliant and we as visitors became close to them and were able to share honest and frank conversations about how Mum was doing. When Mum was in hospital, the staff were asking about her - and Mum was asking about the Brocklehurst staff! We couldn't have wished for a more friendly and attentive set of carers.
My well cared for Aunt is all that is important to my family. I can happily rest knowing she is cared for in every aspect. A difficult patient, but every step of the way from Reception, Nurses, Carers, Domestics and the atmosphere is perfect. I have no doubts whatsoever in recommending Brocklehurst. Big thanks as always.
The care is excellent, the staff can't do enough for my mum and my family, always friendly when I visit. She is well cared for and settled in her home at Brocklehurst, I can't thank the staff enough for their care and support!
Lovely care home with excellent carers who put the needs of the residents first. The home is very clean thanks to the dedicated cleaners. The nurses are brilliant and go above and beyond for the residents. The food is tailored to the resident's needs and the residents have a great lot of choices for all their meals. There are activities every day to keep them entertained. And due to covid regulations, they allow me to see my loved one in a visiting schedule. The management has done its best under challenging covid19 circumstances.
Mum has been at Brocklehurst for just over 2 years. She is very settled, the care she has received has been fabulous. All staff are great, the place is clean and there is a happy atmosphere. Relatives are regularly kept informed.
My nana has been here for a couple of years now. I cannot fault the home or the staff, they are all very friendly and I know that my nana couldn't be in a better place. They look after her so well and make time for all their residents.
